Today at the inaugural Fanatics Fest NYC, an immersive sports festival held at the Javits Center in New York, the Problem Child, Jake “El Gallo” Paul (10-1, 7 KOs), and the Baddest Man on the Planet, Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs), came face-to-face for the first time since their historic bout was rescheduled. The highly anticipated Paul vs. Tyson match is set for an eight-round professional bout with two-minute rounds and will stream live globally on Netflix on Friday, November 15, 2024, from the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. In today’s press conference, hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist and Super Bowl Champion Ryan Clark, Paul and Tyson they shared their thoughts about the upcoming fight. Paul was motivated to take on Tyson, emphasizing his desire to make history. “This is what it’s all about for me, man. I’m a kid from Ohio… They’ll never give me credit. That’s the way it is. If I was walking on water, they would say it’s because I couldn’t swim.”

Paul acknowledged the challenge ahead, recognizing Tyson’s reputation as a formidable opponent. “The people think I’m going to get knocked out by this strong, powerful guy… This has taken a chance to fight somebody as vicious as Mike can be. You got to risk it for the biscuit. That’s the name of the game.”

He continued, “I’m here to challenge myself. He’s vicious. He’s a killer… But I will prove all the haters wrong.”

Moreover, Paul defeated Mike Perry in a sixth-round TKO, and he didn’t take long before he called out the UFC’s current middleweight champion, Alex Pereira. This makes the social media personality’s record a 10-1 streak against some MMA stars, and ahead of his postponed fight with Mike Tyson, he must be feeling on top of the world. But again, McGregor was there to bring some medicine to the sugar, and we can only guess as to what a back-and-forth would look like.

Ahead of Paul’s next boxing bout against mixed martial artist and bare knuckle boxer Mike Perry, McGregor put his stake in the ground. At a press conference in Spain, McGregor called Paul a “dweeb” of a thing, praising Perry for his career with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

“Look at what has happened to Michael Perry, one of our big stars here,” McGregor said. “He’s had such a rise in the sport. Now he’s up against a little dweeb of a thing in a fight this weekend. And we’re all rooting for him.” Perry has grown into a star for BKFC, winning the “King of Violence” Championship against former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez. It’s a symbolic, bragging rights title in the same way that the BMF Championship is for the UFC.

Conor McGregor Calls Jake Paul A “Dweeb”

Conor McGregor was supposed to return to MMA at UFC 303 in a fight against Michael Chandler, who he coached against in the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter. However, McGregor pulled out of the fight because of an injury. The UFC has yet to announce a new date. McGregor’s last fight ended quickly, when he broke his ankle in the first round of a clash with Donald Cerrone. McGregor’s trash talk is famous, and “dweeb” is remarkably low on the list of insults he’s hurled towards his peers.

Mike Perry replaced Mike Tyson, Jake Paul’s original opponent, for this weekend. Tyson pulled out of the fight out of suffering an injury in training. Paul and Tyson rescheduled the fight for November, which will be the first live sporting event to air on Netflix. Fans have been critical of Paul’s boxing career, calling out the fact that many of his opponents are non-boxers. Paul’s only loss in professional boxing was against Tommy Fury, the younger brother of Tyson Fury. Even in his late 50s, the legendary Iron Mike would have been a challenging opponent. Fans will have to wait a few months for that fight to take place. For now, Perry will aim to give Paul his second loss on Saturday night.

Michael Rubin’s White Party this year on Thursday (Fourth of July) was an absolute smash with far too many A-list stars to name in attendance. Drake was there, most likely coping through a great time with the release of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” music video dissing him into the dirt. But there were a lot of other celebrities there that weren’t encumbered by rap beefs, including a new friend duo that provoked plenty of laughs on the Internet. Travis Scott and Jake Paul appeared in a viral clip, and the Houston rapper became particularly animated in a way that seemingly took Paul by surprise.

Furthermore, this is just one of many windows into this White Party, including Yeat’s many link-ups, Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla’s performance, and Druski chilling with Tom Brady and Leonardo DiCaprio. Before this event, Travis Scott played some beach football with Quavo, Brady, and more for some pre-party fun, and these crossovers are very cool to see. We can only wonder what else everyone got up to during the festivities. After all, there are way too many egos in the mix for some shenanigans to go unnoticed.

This was going to be a huge event and fans were excited. However, following a medical emergency Tyson was forced to withdraw from the fight. It was subsequently revealed that Paul and Tyson would fight in November in the same place and the same platform.

Meanwhile, Paul is still looking to fight on July 20th. In fact, according to Ariel Helwani, the official replacement for Tyson was revealed today. The man in question is former UFC fighter Mike Perry. Perry and Paul will fight in Tampa Bay, and the match will be available through DAZN. Perry is also known as a bare-knuckle boxer, which is a pretty good test of Jake’s abilities. After all, fans have wanted to see Paul fight some real opponents, for quite some time.

Speaking with Babcock on the TMZ Sports TV show earlier this week, he argued that the legendary boxer is an adult and can make his own decisions. The interview comes after Tyson, who will turn 58 years old later this month, postponed the fight until November due to medical issues.

“Tell Mike Tyson that. Because he does not give a s*** what anyone thinks,” Paul said. “He’s his own boss. He wants to fight me. He told my team, ‘I don’t give a s*** about this. Well, it seems as though Paul is not listening to any of that. Additionally, neither is Tyson. Earlier today, it was revealed that the fight will go on as planned, except it will now take place on November 15th. The rescheduled battle, Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul, is still scheduled to debut on Netflix on June 7, 2024, despite the delay. Numerous people have expressed their opinions over the impending bout. Dana White of the UFC has weighed in during an appearance on Andrew Schulz’s Flagrant podcast. When Schulz confronted Dana about the fight during the program, the UFC President immediately referred to it as “ridiculous.” He is one of many figures to through out concern over the fight due to the age disparity.

“When this fight happens Tyson will be 58 f**kin years old. Under any circumstances an almost 60-year-old man shouldn’t be fighting a 27-year-old guy under any circumstances… it’s just f**kin ridiculous,” he said. White continued by saying that he is opposed to the fight because he is concerned about Tyson’s health at almost sixty years of age. “Jake Paul’s 27, he’s in his f**kin prime… and I love Mike. No one wants to see Mike get beat by this f**kin j**koff,” Dana White said.

Dana White Thinks Mike Tyson And Jake Paul Fighting Is Ridiculous

Dana White has commented on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight previously as well. White clarified in March that the age difference was the reason the fight wasn’t “serious.” There are certain benefits to facing a famous fighter like Mike Tyson, though.
