If you plan on finding yourself in Finland this summer (or don’t yet but have been looking for some travel inspiration), Flow Festival Helsinki is set to go down from August 9 to 11. The full list of artists unveiled today includes Halsey, Janelle Monáe, Vince Staples, Aurora,, Amaarae, Yves Tumor, Barry Can’t Swim, Evian Christ, Ron Trent Presents WARM, Gasellit, Malla, Lauri Haav, SMC, Turisti, Grande Mahogany, and Goldielocks.

They join a lineup that already featured folks like Fred Again.., Raye, Pulp, Idles, The Smile, PJ Harvey, Jessie Ware, Overmono, Blonde Redhead, Alvvays, Miriam Bryant, Kenya Grace, Artemas,
Kokoko!, Serpentwithfeet, and Helena Hauff.

The fest goes down at the historic Suvilahti power plant area in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Tickets are available now via the Flow Festival website. Three-day passes start at 239€ (about $261), while a two-day pass goes for 199€ ($218) and a one-day pass is 129€ ($141) for Friday or Sunday, or 149€ ($163) for Saturday.

Flow Festival is fresh off a nomination for Best Festival Creative at the 2024 Uproxx Sound + Vision Awards, “a first-of-its-kind award honoring the creative direction that helps music connect with its audience, adding untold value and nuance to the art form.” So, it’s an event worth making the trip for.

It’s Officially Hozier Season As He Lands His First-Ever No. 1 Single On The New Hot 100 Chart

Every week, Billboard unveils the top 10 songs on the latest Hot 100 chart. The most recent rankings, for the chart dated April 27, are out now, so let’s run down who had this week’s biggest hits.

10. SZA — “Saturn”

SZA finds herself re-entering the top 10 this week as “Saturn” gets a bump up from No. 15 all the way to No. 10.

9. Noah Kahan — “Stick Season”

Kahan just got a new personal best, as “Stick Season,” after spending last week at No. 10, climbs up to a new high of No. 9 this week.

8. Ariana Grande — “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)”

What Grande can be friends with is the top 10 as “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For You Love)” maintains its No. 8 spot from last week.

7. Sabrina Carpenter — “Espresso”

Congratulations are in order for Carpenter, who has her first top-10 single of her career with “Espresso.” Also of note is that “Feather,” which was Carpenter’s first top-40 hit, hits a new high on this week’s chart at No. 21.

6. Jack Harlow — “Lovin On Me”

“Lovin On Me” has become a top-10 mainstay in recent months and even after all this time, it’s still only just outside the top 5.

5. Beyoncé — “Texas Hold ‘Em”

After hanging out at No. 6 last week, “Texas Hold ‘Em” returns to the top 5 at it leads the Hot Country Songs chart for a 10th week.

4. Teddy Swims — “Lose Control”

Swims’ breakout hit is still doing well for the song as it maintains control at No. 4.

3. Benson Boone — “Beautiful Things”

The same is true for Boone, who hasn’t yet managed to get to No. 1 but it still doing great at No. 3 this week.

2. Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar — “Like That”

“Like That” was No. 1 for its first three weeks on the Hot 100, but the time has come for that streak to end, because there’s a new champion on the latest chart.

1. Hozier — “Too Sweet”

For a long while, it seemed that 2013’s “Take Me To Church” would make Hozier a one-hit wonder, as it was his only single to chart in the top 10 (in the top 35, even), peaking at No. 2. Now, though, it’s no longer the biggest chart success of his career, as “Too Sweet” just became his first No. 1 single. It’s also the first chart-topper by an Irish artist in decades, since Sinéad O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” in 1990.

When Do Tickets For Coachella 2025 Go On Sale?

coachella

Yesterday (April 21) was the final day of Coachella 2024. You know what that means: Time to start thinking about Coachella 2025! I’m only half-joking: While most of this year’s attendees probably want a minute to unwind from the 2024 festivities, Coachella organizers are already gearing up for 2025. In fact, mere hours ago, the dates for next year’s festival were announced.

When Do Tickets For Coachella 2025 Go On Sale?

Next year’s festival starts with Weekend 1 on April 11 to 13, 2025, followed by Weekend 2 on April 18 to 20, 2025. As for tickets, the earliest opportunity to get those will be during the Advance Sale, which starts on May 3. There’s not much specific information available about the Advance Sale as of this post, but keep an eye on Coachella’s socials and their website for more info.

Beyond ticket sales, there are some other information drops to look forward to as well. None of those have been announced yet, but we can look to historical precedent to estimate when some things might start happening. For instance, this year’s Coachella lineup was announced in January, so it wouldn’t be surprising for the 2025 lineup to arrive that January, too. Meanwhile, assuming ticket pricing stays mostly the same between this year and next, the 2024 prices could be indicative of what to expect next year.

What Are The Dates For Coachella 2025?

2022 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Weekend 2 - Day 1
Getty Image

Coachella 2024 closed less than 12 hours ago. Headliners Doja Cat, Lana Del Rey, and Tyler The Creator delivered, as captured in photos by Uproxx’s Philip Cosores, and Sabrina Carpenter edited her outro of “Nonsense” to tease, “Coachella, see you back here when I headline.” There’s a substantial wait before the Coachella 2025 headliners are announced, but the annual festival wasted no time in announcing its 2025 dates.

What Are The Dates For Coachella 2025?

Early Monday morning, April 22, Coachella confirmed that Coachella 2025 will kick off with Weekend 1 on April 11 to 13, 2025 and return for Weekend 2 on April 18 to 20, 2025. The festival will, yet again, happen at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. According to Coachella’s announcement, the Advance Sale for 2025 tickets begins on Friday, May 3.

Using the past as the guide, Coachella 2025 lineup, including the headliners, will probably be announced in January 2025.

Prices for 2024 tickets will probably be instructive for 2025 prices, and General Admission three-day passes were listed as follows for this year’s festival: Tier 1 ($499 plus fees), Tier 2 ($549 plus fees), and Tier 3 ($599 plus fees). VIP weekend passes were also offered in two tiers — Tier 1 ($1,069 plus fees) and Tier 2 ($1,269 plus fees).

Here’s Who Will (And Who Won’t) Get Inducted Into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame In 2024

Mary J Blige Today Show 2023
Getty Image

In February, the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s 2024 class were revealed. It was a stacked and diverse roster, featuring everybody from Mariah Carey to Ozzy Osbourne to A Tribe Called Quest.

Now, all the votes are in (including those of Uproxx’s own Steven Hyden), and last night (April 21), the Rock Hall revealed who’s getting in this year. The list is as follows:

Performer Category

Mary J. Blige
Cher
Dave Matthews Band
Foreigner
Peter Frampton
Kool & The Gang
Ozzy Osbourne
A Tribe Called Quest

Musical Influence Award

Alexis Korner
John Mayall
Big Mama Thornton

Musical Excellence Award

Jimmy Buffett
MC5
Dionne Warwick
Norman Whitfield

Ahmet Ertegun Award

Suzanne de Passe

The “performer” inductees are the ones selected by Rock Hall voters, while the other honors are doled out by the Rock Hall themselves.

As for nominees who didn’t end up get the votes for induction this year, that list includes Mariah Carey, Jane’s Addiction, Sade, Sinead O’Connor, Oasis, Lenny Kravitz, and Eric B. & Rakim.

Liam Gallagher presumably won’t be too upset about Oasis not making the cut this time around. After his band’s nomination was announced, he tweeted, “F*ck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS,” as well as other things like, “I don’t need some wank award by some geriatric in a cowboy hat.”

What Record Stores Are Participating In Record Store Day?

Tomorrow, April 20, record stores across the globe will be opening their doors to customers with exclusive offerings in honor of Record Store Day. Whether it’s first-time pressings or new vinyl variants you’re looking for, this year has selections from a ton of artists, including Olivia Rodrigo, Blur, Young Thug, Wilco, Chappell Roan, Lil Uzi Vert, and more.

With so much to choose from, the popularity for certain releases is high. Like most years, fans will be waiting outside for hours at some locations, just hoping their future prized possesion isn’t sold out by the time they can reach it.

If you’re new to Record Store Day or just hoping to check it out this year where you are, here’s what to know about what record stores will be part of the experience this year.

What Record Stores Are Participating In Record Store Day?

Most record stores across the US will be participating in 2024’s Record Store Day, depending on your location. Those in major cities will have (at least) one spot open tomorrow. For international fans, they also have official sites in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the UK, and more countries.

The official Record Store Day website offers a complete list of locations, along with more information. Ahead of the event, Uproxx also put together a list of some key releases not to miss, which you can check out here.

Coachella 2024’s Best Performances In Photos

Coachella 2024

There’s a notion in business that if you aren’t growing, you are dying. It’s a mentality that feels easy to combat, yet everything we experience regarding capitalism, about startups and the stock market, tells us differently, and it infects every aspect of our lives. You’d think culture would be immune, but Americans treat the arts in a similarly toxic manner, building things up only to tear them back down. If something finds too much success (and “too much” is generally the precipice of people outside their target demographic becoming aware of something and feeling the need to weigh in), a camaraderie forms in villainizing it, a common enemy that feels safe to punch up at. Marvel, Taylor Swift, Drake, Shohei Ohtani, Caitlin Clark; the list could go on and on.

Coachella is very much in this boat, with the advanced narrative of Coachella’s regression stemming from lower-than-usual ticket sales, headliners that were less headline-grabbing (all of whom came from marginalized demographics, mind you), and an overall lineup that seemed as far from its initial identity as its ever been. But being out on the polo fields again, it’s clear the rumors of Coachella’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. A larger footprint and a new Quasar stage helped make the crowd feel a bit thinner despite the event selling out, though it wouldn’t be surprising to discover a lower overall attendance. Still, you could pack in a day of non-stop music as well as ever. And if a moment wasn’t stacked with conflicts, you could wander around and discover something unexpected.

And it has to be said, that beyond the printed lineup, we got Vampire Weekend and Kid Cudi added to Weekend 1 and 2, respectively. Plus, surprise appearances from Shakira, Billie Eilish (multiple times), Sky Ferreira, Mac Demarco, Katy Perry, Olivia Rodrigo, Will Smith, Childish Gambino, Metro Boomin, ASAP Rocky, Becky G, Jackson Wang, Kesha, 21 Savage, Justin Bieber, and many more. Plus, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce prowled the audience on Saturday to take in Ice Spice (and more covertly took in Bleachers from side stage). If Coachella wasn’t still the biggest music news-generating event of the year, I’d be shocked. Sure, there are rumors that Weekend 2 will be much more sparsely populated and that this seems like a bit of a regrouping year as the fest looks to continue big splashes. But if this is what an off-year for Coachella looks like, we should all be so lucky.

Below, check out an exclusive gallery of our favorite sets of Coachella Weekend 1.

Raye, Janelle Monáe, The National, And More Will Headline Montreux Jazz Festival For 2024

Switzerland’s annual Montreux Jazz Festival unveiled the lineup for 2024, with Raye, Janelle Monáe, The National, Jessie Ware, and Jon Batiste among those headlining the festival.

Other key acts on the lineup include Tyla, PJ Harvey, Kraftwerk, Trombone Shorty, James Arthur, Lenny Kravitz, D4vd, Laufey, André 3000, and more. Given that the event will run from July 5 through July 20, there is sure to be a lot of performances throughout the two weeks from the stacked lineup.

Those who are subscribed to Montreux Jazz Festival’s insider program will be able to purchase tickets today, as part of an Early Bird pre-sale. Tomorrow, April 19, passes for the festival will open to the general public at 6 a.m. ET, according to NME.

“Steeped in musical history, this intimate setting has also proved the ideal stage for established artists to present special, unique projects,” the festival’s description reads, pointing out that the lineup intends to blur “the lines between jazz, afrobeats, pop, and rap” — providing something for every type of listener.

“The lake and the mountains will be the natural backdrop to this breathtaking stage,” Montreux added about the main stage. “Like all stages of the Festival, sound will be provided by Meyer Sound, a historic partner that has helped make Montreux a benchmark in this regard.”

For more information about Montreux Jazz Festival 2024, visit their website.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
