Hotblock Jmoe & G Herbo Bring Chicago Grittiness To New Track “FASHO”

Chicago drill/Chicago hip-hop has to be one of the most entertaining and hype subgenres. So, what happens when you combine two artists from there who live and breathe this stuff? Well, you get one heck of an all gas no brakes track like “FASHO” by Hotblock Jmoe and G Herbo. This is the latest offering from the Dolton, Illinois native, who is looking to stamp his name in Chicago rap history as one of the best to do it.

As we said, “FASHO” keeps the flame lit the entire way through. That is thanks to Hotblock and G Herbo bringing cutthroat bars and that Midwest, blue-collar attitude over a crisp trap instrumental. “We catch n**** lackin’, hawk ’em down, stand ovеr and over clappin’ (Come here)“. Jmoe does not let the star power of the guest deter him one bit. He holds his own and goes bar for bar, all while bringing a smooth and easy-to-hear flow.

The rap gang like Rudy Gobert, put it in a chokehold (Put it in a chokehold)
Next advance, send me the motherload, I need a boat load
Made a half a ticket, two weeks, I ain’t did no shows (I ain’t done no shows)
I been feelin’ like this s*** too sweet, I’m only rockin’ rose gold (Ayy, ayy)
My shooter elite, lace up his cleats, he get a switch and four ‘bows
Gangster rap, my shows all h*es, fill up four rows (Big Swerve)

HotBlock Jmoe Shuts Down All Challengers In His ‘Aye’ Video With MAF Teeski

Chicago rappers HotBlock Jmoe and MAF Teeski link up to bang it out in the video for “Aye,” Jmoe’s latest single. The song finds the rappers taunting foes in the streets while flexing their own credentials. The new single arrives just a year after Jmoe’s 2023 album, Da Hottest, which featured appearances from G Herbo, Fresco Trey, Tyla Yaweh, and Yung Bleu.

“You can stop all that dissin’ in your raps like you killin’ sh*t,” Jmoe sneers on the chorus, “I asked about you, boy, you innocent.” Meanwhile, the video was shot by Jerry Production (who has also shot videos for other Chicago standouts like Polo G and King Von) and features the two rappers and their respective crews fanning money and repping their hoods as ATVs burn rubber in the background.

While “Aye” marks Jmoe’s first single of 2024, the relentless pace he’s maintained in the past suggests it won’t be his last. Meanwhile, MAF Teeski just released his own first single of 2024 last month. That single, “Magic,” followed the September 2023 release of his album, Slick Almighty.

Jmoe was recently featured on UPROXX Sessions, where he pulled up to perform Da Hottest standout “9x Outta 10” — albeit without the song’s guest Tory Lanez.

HotBlock Jmoe Gets Reflective For His ‘UPROXX Sessions’ Live Performance Of ‘9 x Outta 10’

Rising Chicago star HotBlock Jmoe is making a name for himself and his song “9 x Outta 10” is reflective of that with its mesmerizing melody coupled with soothing words that are relatable and just as reflective of where his future is headed. Jmoe recently stopped by our Culver City studio for a UPROXX Sessions rendition of the song and performed the one-shot take perfectly.

“‘9 X Outta 10’ is about me expressing, ‘I am who I am,’” Jmoe told Revolt in October about the track in an interview. “Embracing my new lifestyle, but still hungry for more. Long nights and consistency [go] a long way, so I figured if I keep working hard, [nine times] out of 10, I’ll be the hottest.” He’s not wrong and his UPROXX Sessions performance is a great indicator of how far that consistency will take him.
