DJ Envy Responds To Ma’Khia Bryant Backlash: “It Doesn’t Hurt Me”

He has doubled down on his stance regarding the police-involved shooting death of 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant, and now DJ Envy has a few words for Cancel Culture. The Breakfast Club became a focal point in discussions regarding the case after host DJ Envy expressed that he believed the shooting was justified. Envy once again reminded the world that his father is a retired police officer and judging from Columbus, Ohio police officer Nicholas Reardon’s body camera footage, Envy sided with Reardon’s decision to shoot.

Dr. Umar Johnson visited The Breakfast Club earlier this week and passionately criticized those involved in the death of Ma’Khia, but Envy was unmoved in his position. He faced backlash across several social media platforms, but Envy addressed the controversy when he caught up with Page Six.

“The whole situation is tragic and it’s sad because that system failed that young lady. The fact that she’s out there fighting at sixteen with a grown woman,” said Envy. “The fact that the older man seen in the video would rather kick the girl on the ground and join the fight instead of stopping the fight, all these things come together and the system failed that girl and it is sad.”

“Everybody’s saying [the police] shoot first, but he possibly saved that [other girl’s] life,” he continued, restating his previous argument. “If she would’ve stabbed her, who knows if she would’ve lived. She could have got cut in the throat, in the face, we just don’t know what could happen.” Envy also spoke about Cancel Culture and the insults he received online, including comments that he doesn’t stand with the culture.

“It doesn’t hurt me…because people are mad about what’s going on and I’m mad and upset as well,” Envy said. “But I know who’s on my side and who’s not. I know who tries to help the community and who doesn’t. We sit here and raise money every year for organizations that fight against this. I help our community with financial freedom and learning about buying their own homes, and their own investment properties. So people can have financial freedom so they can use their own money.”

“We should be able to have a conversation and dialogue” added The Breakfast Club host. “I did not sexually assault somebody. I wasn’t racist to someone. I am just stating the facts, and what I see. I have had conversations with friends and celebrities who feel the same way, but they will not say so publicly because it is not a popular opinion and they are fearful of the backlash.”

LaMelo Ball Receives Massive Injury Update

LaMelo Ball had an incredible first half of the season and it was quite clear back in March that he would be the favorite to win rookie of the year. Unfortunately, he hit a massive setback as he fractured his wrist during a freak play that saw him land on his hand. At first, it was feared that LaMelo would end up missing the entire rest of the regular season. However, over the past few weeks, it has become increasingly clear that Ball is in a better position to return than some may have originally thought.

According to the Charlotte Hornets PR Twitter account, Melo has officially been listed as questionable for Saturday’s game against the Detroit Pistons. This mostly means he will be a game-time decision, although this also means he will certainly be coming back sometime this season, barring a major setback.

This is huge for the Hornets who are in a battle for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They could use all the help they can get and LaMelo would prove to be a player who would make all of the difference down the stretch.

Stay tuned for more news from around the NBA world as we will be sure to keep you informed.

SZA Congratulates Fan Who Recreated “Ctrl” Cover For Graduation Photo

We still don’t have an update on when we can expect her sophomore album, but SZA is hard at work. The Top Dawg Entertainment singer hasn’t released a record since her acclaimed introductory effort Ctrl back in 2017, and after there was a bit of an internet tit-for-tat with her label, things seem to be back on track. We recently heard SZA partner with Doja Cat on their pop-heavy “Kiss Me More,” but as fans wait for more tunes from the songbird, one admirer has incorporated SZA’s artistic style into their celebratory moments.

On Twitter, a young lady named Maya was excited to graduate from college and her major perfectly complements SZA’s Ctrl album cover. So, Maya decided to recreate the vintage computer backdrop for her graduation pictures.

“Since I’m a computer science major, I decided to recreate @sza CTRL album as a grad pic,” Maya tweeted. “[woman at computer emoji][sparkle emoji] #BlackTechTwitter #WomenWhoCode.” The photo went viral and caught SZA’s attention, and to say that she was a fan of her album cover’s reinvention would be an understatement.

“AHHHHHHHH… CONGRATULATIONS QUEEN !!” the singer added in a caption to Maya’s retweeted message. You can check out the picture along with SZA’s emoji-laden reply below.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro “USA” Coming Soon: Official Photos

Penny Hardaway left a lasting impression on the game of basketball for numerous reasons. One of which was his sneaker collection and how he helped change the game with Nike. For instance, Hardaway was known for wearing the Nike Air Foamposite which was a massive sneaker on the East Coast. Over the years, its popularity has waned a little bit although there are still plenty of fans out there who are looking to get their hands on the iconic shoe.

The Nike Air Foamposite Pro is an alternate version of the shoe that features the Nike swoosh on the side. In just a few days, the shoe will be released in a patriotic new USA colorway, that is surely going to resonate with those who need to add some red and blue to their wardrobe. In the official images below, you can see how the sneaker has a mostly red composite upper, all while the navy blue highlights are placed throughout the tongue and even the midsole.

Aaron Rodgers Reportedly Considering Retirement

With Aaron Rodgers reportedly requesting a trade out of Green Bay, it shouldn’t be surprising that some Packers fans are freaking out about their future. Rodgers has been pivotal to the team’s success and without him on the roster, there is no telling how well they will do on the offensive end. In fact, Rodgers has reportedly said goodbye to some of his teammates which leads even more credence to the concept that Rodgers will be on his way out of Wisconsin.

Now, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that should the Packers not trade him, Rodgers might just call it a career. If he does this, he would have to re-pay upwards of $23 million worth of bonuses. While this is certainly a huge downside to retirement, it seems like he would rather give up a small fortune than go back to Green Bay.

Needless to say, these last two days have been incredibly dramatic for the Packers organization. The team’s GM has reiterated that Rodgers will not be moved, which puts Rodgers and the franchise in a stalemate. It’s a situation no one expected just 48 hours ago and if you’re a fan, you can’t help but be a bit upset.

Keep it locked to HNHH as we will bring you all of the latest updates pertaining to this saga.

6ix9ine’s Stolen Hat Now Selling For Six Figures

Despite being one of the most controversial figures in music, period, 6ix9ine still finds a way to sustain his fanbase and generate buzz. His trolling is typically what keeps him going although it seems like people are willing to watch him perform, even if it means risking a COVID-19 infection. For instance, 6ix9ine was in Florida over the weekend where he got to perform at a crowded nightclub that seemed to be filled with fans.

At one point, 6ix9ine tried to crowd surf which led to him getting his chain yanked on. In addition to this, 6ix9ine got his hat taken off of his head, and according to the DJ Akademiks, the hat eventually made its way to eBay. The first time we reported on this, the hat was sitting at $15K but now, the baseball cap has 89 bids and is sitting at $100K.

It’s fairly insane just how much demand there has been for this hat, although there is no denying that some people just don’t know how to spend their money. At the end of the day, the hat doesn’t have that much fundamental value, but hey, if you want to spend six figures on this, go right ahead.

NoCap Details His Struggles On Pop-Rap Crossover “On Purpose”

Over the past few years, Alabama rapper NoCap has been one of the most promising rising artists from the southern region of the United States. However, like his frequent collaborator and Never Broke Again head honcho NBA YoungBoy, NoCap has faced his fair share of legal issues. That being said, the Alabama artist’s progression as an artist hasn’t been altogether halted, as he has appeared on the NBA compilation tape Never Broke Again Vol. 1: Ain’t 2 Long and released the stacked 2020 project Steel Human

Unfortunately, NoCap is once again behind bars for an indefinite time period. In a January Instagram post, the Never Broke Again affiliate reassured fans that he would be home soon, and while fans continue to wait for his release, NoCap has treated them with an intriguing new single.

“On Purpose” finds the Backend Child deliberating on his personal struggles while simultaneously experimenting with a daring pop-rap crossover sound. With a runtime of 3 minutes and 19 seconds, NoCap’s latest single is a catchy new offering that, upon first listen, appears to have immense replay value.

Fatboy SSE Finds His Stride On New Single “Fly Away”

Fatboy SSE may have started his career as a comedian but he has certainly shown his versatility over the last couple of years. From starting his own Cannabis company to entering the world of music, Fatboy has shown that he can do pretty well anything he sets his mind to. On the music front, the man has been grinding and on Friday, he dropped off his latest track, “Fly Away.”

With this song, we hear Fatboy hitting a brand new stride as he takes the melodic route with this effort. From the jump, we are met with some gorgeous sounding guitars that eventually lead us into Fatboy’s auto-tuned-filled verses. The melodies work perfectly with the production and overall, this is a solid effort from the artist, who continues to improve his craft.
