Lil Yachty Sets Release Date For “Michigan Boy Boat”

Lil Yachty has been emphasizing his bars now more than he ever has in the past. The bubblegum trap sound he introduced when he was the self-proclaimed King Of Teens remains a part of his arsenal, though he’s entered a new phase in his career where he’s stepping it up and maturing.

Fans have been anticipating the release of his project, Michigan Boy Boat. The rapper’s appreciation for the Midwest has been well-documented, from his collaborations with artists like Sada Baby and Tee Grizzley to his hit single, “Minnesota.” The rapper took to Instagram today where he revealed that the project would finally be arriving this Friday, April 23rd. Michigan Boy Boat is meant to highlight the budding talent coming from Detroit and Michigan as a whole as he did on “Royal Rumble.”

The trailer for the project includes a few words from Yachty who explains his appreciation for Detroit and Michigan as a whole. “I found a love for Michigan, you know what I’m sayin’? The city itself is just a vibe that’s unmatched. And I established this relationship, I was a fan of all these guys all throughout Michigan, not just Detroit,” he said. “Tryna put them on a pedestal. Give ’em the platform they may not have had before. You know, it’s nothing but love.”

Quando Rondo Denies Dissing King Von With “End Of Story”

Quando Rondo has apparently been putting efforts into clearing his name after the untimely passing of King Von. The Georgian rapper did a sit-down interview with Angela Yee, a tell-all of sorts, where he divulged information on that tragic November night. The latest episode was uploaded onto YouTube today where he addressed the controversy surrounding “End Of Story.” The single addressed Von’s passing, and the moments leading up to the fatal shooting.

The song’s title immediately sparked debate among fans who took it at a shot at King Von. The late Chicago rapper’s career largely popped off with his track “Crazy Story” which later turned into a three-part series. Quando said that he had no idea that Von had a song called “Crazy Story,” and the reason why he named his song, “End of Story” was to share his perspective on the situation.

“Me saying ‘End of Story’ is just me saying this is the end of the story,” Quando said. He added that the song was meant to be the only time he would rap about the shooting. “I had no intentions — To be honest with you, ma’am, I didn’t even know bruh has three or four songs called ‘Crazy Stories.’”

The rapper then called his friend to vouch for him. “I think you was saying you wasn’t going to talk about it no more. You was done with it,” Rondo’s friend said through the phone speakers. “At first, you said something like ‘End of Discussion’… Lowkey, I didn’t pay attention until it came out.”

Flatbush Zombies Announce Graphic Novel, “3001: A Prequel Odyssey”

Earlier this spring, Flatbush Zombies celebrated the five-year anniversary of the Hip-Hop trio’s debut studio album 3001: A Laced Odyssey. In addition to performing a special live-streamed performance of the album on YouTube, Flatbush Zombies has been dropping some pretty incredible merch that any Hip-Hop collector would love to have in their collection, including an assortment of limited-edition action figures.

Now, weeks after the album’s anniversary, Flatbush Zombies has revealed that they’re not done celebrating 3001: A Laced Odyssey quite yet. The trio will further commemorate the album by dropping a graphic novel later this fall, and it will be distributed by Z2 Comics.

3001: A Prequel Odyssey, while set in a fantastical alternate universe and loosely based around Flatbush Zombie’s 2016 debut album, will be penned by veteran journalist and rapper Rob Markman, marking his latest creative collaboration with a prominent Hip-Hop act as well as the follow-up to his Marvel Comics debut last year. The graphic novel will also serve as the comic book debut of illustrator J.J. Lopez.

According to Z2 Comics’ official website, Flatbush Zombies’ graphic novel is imagined as “the official prequel to the Flatbush Zombies’ debut album,” and its premise involves Erick the Architect, Meechy Darko, and Zombie Juice battling a dark supernatural force that threatens to wreak havoc on Brookyln’s West Indian Day Parade.

Will you be reading Flatbush Zombie’s forthcoming graphic novel 3001: A Prequel Odyssey when it drops this October?
