Eminem’s Upcoming NFT Collection Includes Comics, Action Figures, And Beats

While some people are still trying to wrap their heads around what NFTs even are, artists from all over the music world have been quick to take advantage of this growing digital realm. Names like Doja Cat, Jack White, and The Weeknd have all released NFTs of their own. Now Eminem is joining in on the fun. The rapper announced his own line of digital collectables after a Saturday Night Live segment that saw Jack Harlow and cast members explaining what NFTs are through a rap over the Detroit native’s classic song “Without Me.” Now, a day before he drops his line, Eminem has finally revealed what it will contain.

The upcoming release, which drops Sunday, April 25, is a part of an event Eminem has dubbed “Shady Con,” in collaboration with NFT marketplace NFT Gateway. He’ll release original instrumental beats, digital comics, and action figures. The latter will come in three forms, each capturing various Eminem’s rap personas: Marshall Mathers, Slim Shady, and Eminem himself.

“I’ve been collecting since I was a kid, everything from comic books to baseball cards to toys, as well as every rap album on cassette I could get my hands on,” Eminem said on his website. “Not much has changed for me as an adult…I’ve attempted to recreate some of those collections from that time in my life, and I know I’m not alone. I wanted to give this drop the same vibe of, ‘Oh, man I gotta get just that one or maybe even the whole set!’ It’s been a lot of fun coming up with ideas from my own collecting passion.”

LeBron James Wants To Know Kendrick Lamar’s Whereabouts

Kendrick Lamar is one of the best artists in the world and his discography is as rock-solid as it gets. There are virtually no blemishes on his record and over the last four years, fans have been waiting patiently for him to drop a new album. His last project was Damn and it was an international success that won numerous awards and even got Kendrick a Pulitzer. Since then, it’s felt like an eternity since Kendrick last dropped and fans are starting to grow just a little bit concerned.

LeBron James is one of those fans and recently, he took to Twitter with an inquiry about where Kendrick is right now. It’s clear that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar wants to listen to some new music, and he would prefer it to drop sooner rather than later.

Man I miss @kendricklamar! In dying need of his gifts/presence right now,” LeBron wrote. There are certainly plenty of other fans out there who feel the exact same way, especially when you consider just how classic Kendrick’s albums are. DijahSB Drops Off New Project “Head Above The Waters”

Toronto’s DijahSB captured the widespread feelings and effects of the pandemic on their album, 2020 The Album. Less than a year later, Dijah’s back with their follow-up project, Head Above The Waters. The Toronto artist maintains a sharp pen with quick-witted bars over slow, lo-fi-inspired production that allows Dijah to focus on getting the message across clearly.

Head Above The Waters follows a theme. I wrote this album with that in mind, because at the time, it’s what I needed to hear. So I know someone somewhere might need to hear it too. The waves might be cracking into you and trying to keep you from floating but you gotta keep coming up for air and try your hardest to keep your head above it,” said Dijah of the new project.

Largely produced by Harrison and Cheap Limousine, Head Above The Waters is an 8-track offering with features from Ray HMND, Chris Castello, and Terrell Morris.

In the TikTok shared to his profile on the video-sharing app, Harvey flexes a matching Dolce & Gabbana jacket and matching jeans while smoking a cigar. With a popped collar and set to a sound effect of a crowd cheering, the television personality casually struck a pose to the camera as he showed off the daring look.

“Pre-show [drip],” penned Harvey in the caption, using the dripping emojis in lieu of spelling it out. Giving further context for the video, he continued, “Heard y’all wanted to see me without a tie.”

Kevin Gates & Renni Rucci Reconnect On “At”

Kevin Gates and Renni Rucci are no strangers to each other on wax. The duo linked up for Renni’s “Hands On Your Knees” last year which continues to circulate through DJ sets. It was an inaugural collaboration with a Baton Rouge titan and the budding star out of South Carolina who is on her way to break out.

This week, Renni returns the favor of their latest collaboration, “At.” Renni and Gates bring it back to the trenches with a sleek yet gutter record where they go bar-for-bar with each other over eerie piano keys.

“It was kind of just like, ‘You need some help? Whatever you need help with, I see potential in you. I’m gonna help you’ — one of those kind of things,” Renni told HNHH of her relationship with Kevin Gates during a recent installment of Rise & Grind. ” [He’s] just a genuine person who’s in the industry who can look at a situation and tell something ain’t getting done, how it should be done, because you should be bigger than what you are.”

Department Of Justice Weighs Charging Derek Chauvin Over 2017 Incident: Report

According to preliminary data from Nielsen, more than 18 million individuals across the country tuned in to the Derek Chauvin trial to witness the live verdict of the case. Many across the country viewed the prosecution of Chauvin on all three charges in connection with the death of George Floyd as justice finally being served.

During the trial, a 2017 incident involving the disgraced former cop surfaced while prosecutors were preparing the Floyd murder case against the ex-Minneapolis Police Department. The situation involving Chauvin and a Black teenager has the Department of Justice weighing charging Chauvin for the incident that occurred four years ago.

According to ABC News, the Department of Justice is reportedly considering charging Chauvin in a 2017 incident where footage shows Chauvin striking a 14-year-old Black teenager in the head so hard that he eventually needed footage to close the wound before kneeling on him for nearly 17 minutes, applying pressure on his upper back. Similar to Floyd, the teen complained he was unable to breathe.

Shortly after the incident, a state prosecutor wrote that  “videos show a far more violent and forceful treatment of this child than Chauvin describes in his report,” but no subsequent action was taken against him. ABC News reports that the feds are now aiming to press charges against him based on evidence and body-cam footage.

Chauvin kept his knee on George Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes as he complained about being suffocated, eventually resulting in the death of the 46-year-old back on May 25th, 2020. He was convicted of his murder on Tuesday (April 20).

Minneapolis PD is said to have been aware of the DOJ investigation and is in full cooperation. The alleged incident occurred when a Minneapolis mom called officers claiming her children were attacking her. Prosecutors explained that Chauvin, “applied a neck restraint, causing the child to lose consciousness and go to the ground.”

Irv Gotti Says DMX Overdosed On “Bad Crack” Mixed With Fentanyl

The death of DMX is still weighing heavily on the hearts of hip-hop heads across the globe. The rapper emerged into the game under Def Jam after Irv Gotti signed him to the label. As the story goes, X’s triumphant run during the late 90s saved the label in many ways. They remained close over the years until X’s untimely passing.

In the week of X’s hospitalization, misinformation and conflicting reports spurred throughout the Internet. Many outlets claimed X suffered from an overdose which led to a heart attack. Days after reports of his hospitalization emerged, there were reports that were later refuted alleging X contracted COVID-19.

Gotti recently sat down for an interview with Chicago’s WCGI where he discussed X’s alleged cause of death. He said that X had suffered from an overdose from “bad crack” that was laced with fentanyl. “I knew it was coming,” he explained. “‘Cause, the family was like he was brain dead… When they hooked him up to the ventilator, ’cause he had COVID, too.”

The host stopped Gotti and asked him whether the rumors of COVID were true. “He had COVID. They said it was a bad dose of crack and they said some drug, fentanyl, was mixed in with the crack and that’s what made him overdose,” Gotti continued. “And then he got to the hospital, he got diagnosed with COVID and he couldn’t breathe. You know that COVID fucks with your respiratory system.”

This weekend, DMX’s memorial will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center. The memorial will be attended by DMX’s close friends and family in compliance with health guidelines. However, it will be live streaming on YouTube for the general public’s viewing. Read more information on X’s memorial service here.

Logic And Madlib Formed A New Duo Called MadGic And They’ve Already Dropped Their First Song

Last summer, Logic walked away from the rap game with the release of his sixth album No Pressure. But rappers who say they’re retiring usually come back. Such as the case here. He came back quick, first teaming up with Juicy J for their collaboration “1995,” and then did the solo “Tired In Malibu.” Some even believed that the rapper’s new artist, Doctor Destruction, was actually Logic in disguise. While that has yet to be proven true or not, Logic is clearly back in action, as he announced he and producer Madlib have joined forces to form a new duo called MadGic.

The news arrived along with their first song, “Mars Only Pt. 3.” It sees Logic flexing his lyricism over a boom-bap beat provided by Madlib, even teasing a full album. “Logic and Madlib is MadGic, your catalogue tragic / F*ck a underground, f*ck a pop sound,” he raps. “Made this whole album in a lockdown, hip hop is our town / Hairline like Doc Brown but I’m killin’ it.”

Before the MadGic announcement, Logic joked during an interview with his friend Nick Huff Barili that Madlib was the only person that could make him reconsider retirement. By the looks of it, that’s exactly what happened.

You can listen to ‘Mars Only Pt. 3’ in the video above.
