Lil Dicky Wraps “Dave” Season 2 Production

In reality, many have simply given up hope that Lil Dicky’s follow-up album to 2015’s Professional Rapper will ever see the light of day. That’s not to say LD has fallen off the radar — quite the opposite, in fact. For the most part, he’s been expending his creative energy on Dave, the breakout FX series loosely based on his own career experience. With the acclaimed first season having officially finished up last year, many have been eager to see where the series goes in season two. Evidently, we might not have to wait as long as originally anticipated to find out.

Earlier today, Dicky took to Twitter to share a promising update, confirming that the production of Dave season 2 had officially wrapped. Though he neglected to share much else regarding potential plot details, it’s safe to say that the ambitious renaissance man will be looking to up the ante in a major way. Especially given where the series left off, with Dicky having taken an impressive step in his rap career following a scene-stealing freestyle on The Breakfast Club.

Luckily, it seems as if the best is yet to come — when asked about his favorite episode, Lil Dicky teased that it’s “The one I’m shooting right now.” As for a potential release date, nothing has been confirmed — though in a recent interview, Dicky expressed hope to see new episodes arriving before the end of the year, provided the post-production process goes smoothly. Will you be tuning in to catch the further misadventures of LD and GaTa in the upcoming season of Dave?

Air Jordan 3 “Racer Blue” Coming Soon: Official Photos

When Tinker Hatfield came out with the Air Jordan 3 back in 1988, everyone knew that Jumpman had a hit on their hands. Since that time, the Air Jordan 3 has become one of the most popular Air Jordan silhouettes of all time, and for good reason. The Air Max unit in the midsole and the elephant print material on the front and back have captured the attention of millions of sneakerheads and even in 2021, this remains one of the best and most popular offerings out there.

New colorways are set to drop in 2021 and one of them is the “Racer Blue” offering which can be found below. In the official photos, we can see that this sneaker boasts a white leather upper, all while the blue portions are placed on the midsole, Jumpman logo, and even the cuff. From there, a dark shade of elephant print is found at the toe box and back heel, which only helps to elevate the colorway as a whole.

As for the release date, these are set to drop on July 10th of this year for $190 USD. It’s an extremely solid model and we’re sure there will be a ton of interest upon release. Let us know what you think, in the comments below.

NBA YoungBoy’s $540K Bail Revoked, Will Remain In Jail Until Trial: Report

NBA YoungBoy’s legal woes have become quite a thrilling saga. The 21-year-old Baton Rouge native, born Kentrell Gaulden, was arrested at the tail end of last month in Los Angeles by federal agents due to an outstanding federal warrant stemming from a previous arrest in his hometown back in September of 2020.

We reported previously that the rapper had been granted a $540,000 bond by a California judge, with the added clause that a Louisiana judge must first approve the release. According to court documents obtained by XXL yesterday (April 1), a Louisiana judge has ruled that Gaulden will remain behind bars until the trial for his recent gun charges begins.

Before the judge from Gaulden’s home state ruled that he will be held without bond pending trial, the Magistrate judge in California granted the hitmaker bond that included $540,000 in cash, collateral of two properties worth $1.5 million, drug testing, an ankle monitor and more.

We previously reported that Gaulden had violated his bond terms by skipping out on mandatory testing, which may have contributed to the judge’s ruling. The Acting United States Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana submitted a motion last month to keep the rapper in jail until his trial, deeming him a “risk” and “danger to the community.”

Additionally, the State Attorney claimed the California judge’s ruling was based more on, “Gaulden’s significant wealth and assets and apparent ability to post bond, despite the recommendation of the United States Probation and Pre-Trial Services Department that the defendant presents a risk of danger and there are no conditions or combination of conditions that can assure the safety of the community.”

On March 30th, the Louisiana judge involved in the case revoked his bond, adding the caveat that should new evidence emerge from now until his trial that supports his release, it will be reassessed. Based on the rapper’s offenses and criminal history, the judge reasoned, “no condition or combination of conditions will reasonably assure the safety of the community if the Defendant is allowed bond before trial.”

The document continued, “Defendant’s criminal history includes violent crimes, and the crime for which Defendant has been indicted involved possession of a firearm. Defendant attempted to flee during his arrest, which is indicative of a lack of respect for law enforcement and the law. Defendant also has a history of drug use.”

At this time, it’s unclear when the trial date is set for. We’ll keep you updated on further developments.

Benny The Butcher Announces “The Burden Of Plugs” Tour

Slowly but surely, it looks as if live music is beginning to emerge as a viable possibility. And though the COVID-19 pandemic is still underway, so too are the vaccination efforts; some states have already begun lifting restrictions, though others have opted to remain cautious. In any case, Benny The Butcher has decided it’s nearly time to take his show on the road, taking to Twitter to announce The Burden Of Plugs tour, complete with a string of twenty-two dates.

“We back active,” writes Benny, sharing the official lineup of dates and cities on his Twitter page. Set to kick off on October 7th with a stop in Atlanta, Benny will proceed to hit cities like Charlotte, Huntington, Philadelphia, Boston, Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Sandiego, Las Vegas, and Denver, before coming to a stop on November 19th in Austin.

Given how much material Benny has released since his last tour, it’s clear that the lyricist will have an ample supply of new material to test out. As the name indicates, the tour will place heavy emphasis on last year’s Hit-Boy produced Burden Of Proof, as well as his brand new album The Plugs I Met 2. Should you be interested in catching Benny when he hits your city, be sure to cop tickets over at the official Griselda web store.

Check out the full list of Burden Of Plugs tour dates below, and sound off with the songs you’re hoping to see incorporated into his setlist. For more from The Butcher, revisit our exclusive interview with the rapper right here.

Bernie Sanders Takes A Swipe At Nike And Phil Knight

Nike is one of the biggest companies in the entire world and every single year, they bring in billions of dollars worth of profit. Like most big companies in the United States, they always avoid paying high tax rates, which has been a point of contention for many Democratic politicians, especially Bernie Sanders, who has always pushed Social Democracy, as we see in many Scandinavian countries.

Today, Bernie actually took a jab at Nike and its founder Phil Knight. As Sanders explains, the company continues to bring in billions of dollars and in the end, they pay less in tax than what it would cost for a pair of Air Force 1s. Needless to say, Sanders wants to see more accountability from Nike and brands like it.

If you paid $120 for a pair of Nike Air Force 1 shoes, you paid more to Nike than it paid in federal income taxes over the past 3 years, while it made $4.1 billion in profits and Nike’s founder, Phil Knight, became over $23 billion richer. Yes. We must #TaxTheRich,” Bernie wrote.

Depending on which side of the political aisle you fall under, Sanders’ opinion might be controversial. However, with many falling into poverty with the pandemic, it is important that the wealthiest people pay their fair share. Otherwise, things will remain desolate forever.

Lil Durk Is Locked In With Bobby Shmurda & Rowdy Rebel

So far, Lil Durk is one of the most-streamed rappers of 2021. Having already garnered 1.06 million streams across platforms, the OTF artist still has no plans of stopping anytime soon. Having dropped both the deluxe version to his 2020 album The Voice and appeared on the OTF album Loyal Bros within the past six months, Lil Durk still has highly anticipated collaborations with rappers such as Trippie Redd and Lil Baby on the way.

Now, it looks like Lil Durk may have yet another high-profile collaboration on the way. Yesterday, the Chicago artist shared a video to his Instagram story that revealed that he was hanging out with two of the year’s most important artists to watch, Rowdy Rebel and Bobby Shmurda. Captured by DJ Akademiks, the soundless video shows the recently freed Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel having fun in what appears to be a hotel room.

Seeing Lil Durk hang out with Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel will definitely get fans excited for a collaboration featuring the three artists, so hopefully, they come through with some heat. Are you down to listen to an OTF x GS9 collab?

Lil Uzi Vert Defends Himself: “Y’all Dragging It”

Lil Uzi Vert has been catching heat from all sides following a heated conversation that went down between him and Yung Miami on Instagram live. In the video, it appears that the two seem to be at odds with each other, agreeing that they don’t have to be friends. Uzi then went on to brag about how he’s the one running things in his relationship with JT, among other things along those lines. Yung Miami’s beau Southside later jumped in to reprimand Uzi, echoing the voice of many Twitter users. The Philly native eventually took to Twitter yesterday to explain himself (April 1).

I never treated a women how I treat jt I literally will die for her was just playing ….. y’all dragging it,” penned the Eternal Atake artist on Twitter. He made the clarifying statement by way of a quote reply from someone who tweeted him, “no!! the way you was talking to JT tho!!!! not cool.”

He added in a separate tweet, “That’s my gf best friend I was playing with her she always curse me out.” While Uzi maintained that it was all light-hearted fun, Southside’s more aggressive response to Uzi still has people raising their eyebrows.

“I’mma say this one time. Ay, Uzi, don’t address none to my b*tch, my n*gga,” Southside said in a video shared online. “You handle your b*tch, n*gga, you stay on your side.”

“You got one more time to say somethin‘,” he continued. “I promise you I’mma punch your teeth out your mouth. Don’t say nothin’ else, n*gga… If you don’t like my b*tch, don’t like my b*tch. Let them do them… Stay the little weirdo you is, keep rockin’ purses, keep doin’ that b*tch sh*t you doin’.”

In the midst of it all, JT has deactivated her Twitter account as the “beef” unfolds. Do you guys believe Uzi and Miami were just kidding around? Sound off in the comments.
