J. Cole Seen Gifting His Basketball Team With New Gear

Not everyone is thrilled to see a No. 1-selling artist in the Basketball Africa League, but that hasn’t stopped J. Cole from pursuing his hoop dreams. We previously reported on AS Sale guard Terrell Stoglin sharing that he believed it was “disrespectful” for Cole to enter into the league over players who have worked the majority of their lives for their opportunity to play professional basketball, but critics noted that Stoglin wasn’t including Cole in that group.

Rick Ross later came forward to defend the Dreamville icon by saying, “And comin’ from a brother, I think you would understand what building these types of relationships would do for the business. For the eyes on the industry, you know what I’m sayin’?”

J. Cole doesn’t seem fazed by the criticism, because he surfaced with some new gear for his teammates. In a video shared to TikTok and reposted by TheShadeRoom, Cole is seen unveiling boxes of new fits for his Rwanda Patriots crew. The video reportedly was shared by basketball trainer Omar Khanani.

“True vet teammate @realcoleworld taking care of the young guys n coaches supplying dreamers [cloud emojis],” the text reads over the video clip. J. Cole was immediately praised for his contribution and once again hailed as a GOAT. Check out the post for yourself below.

Seth Rogen Doesn’t Understand Why Comedians Complain About Cancel Culture

Both Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock have spoken out against Cancel Culture and its influence on entertainment, especially comedy, but Seth Rogen doesn’t seem to agree. Most recently, Rock stated that Cancel Culture has become so rigid that it’s made television shows “boring.” Rogen appeared on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday (May 25) and said he didn’t understand why so many comedians have been complaining about Cancel Culture, hinting that some are being held accountable for their poor choices.

“To me, when I see comedians complaining about this kind of thing, I don’t understand what they’re complaining about,” said Rogen. “If you’ve made a joke that’s aged terribly, accept it. And if you don’t think it’s aged terribly, then say that.”

“Getting criticism is one of the things that goes along with being an artist, and if you don’t like that, then don’t be a comedian anymore. To me, it’s not worth complaining about to the degree I see other comedians complaining about.” The actor was asked if he’s had to do any sort of social media clean-up by deleting old messages, tweets, or comments. Rogen answered that his style of comedy didn’t require him to do so.

“I was never a comedian that made jokes that were truly designed to target groups that were subjugated in some way,” he said. “Have we done that without realizing it? Definitely. And those things are in our movies and they’re out there, and they’re things that I am more than happy to say that they have not aged well.”

“But in my career, I’ve never made a joke that’s outwardly horrific in some way, and if you have, I would question why you did that. Saying terrible things is bad, so if you’ve said something terrible, then it’s something you should confront in some way, shape, or form. I don’t think that’s ‘Cancel Culture’, that’s you saying something terrible if that’s what you’ve done.”

Toosii Gets Support From His Formidable Crew In The Complacent Video For ‘Red Die’

Toosii has been feeding his fans with plenty of music over the last fifteen months. The Raleigh, North Carolina rapper’s latest release came earlier this month when he dropped his Thank You For Believing mixtape. Just a few weeks removed from its arrival, Toosii returns with a brand new video for the project’s outro, “Red Die.” In the new effort, the rapper surrounds himself with a formidable crew while reflecting on the hard times and celebrating the good moments in his life. The visual moves back and forth from moments of Toosii and friends standing in a parking lot to them posted up in a room drowned in red lighting.

The video for “Red Die” is just the latest in a string of visuals that Toosii’s released over the last few weeks. He previously delivered videos for “Shop” with DaBaby and “What It Cost.” He also accompanied Lil Tjay in an effort for “Love Hurts.” As for Thank You For Believing, the project sees addtional appearances from Latto (fka Mulatto) and Key Glock and altogether, it serves as a great follow up to Toosii’s 2020 efforts — Poetic Pain and Platinum Hearts — which helped put him on the map as an artist to watch in 2021.

Boosie Badazz Beams About Young Thug Mentioning His Name On “Ski”

It’s about that time for another Boosie Badazz interview with VladTV. The rapper has turned himself into a social media star due to his online antics and off-the-cuff commentary, and he sits down once again with the outlet for what is poised to be a lengthy conversation about all things pop culture. They kicked things off this time around by discussing Boosie’s name being mentioned on Young Stoner Life’s viral “Ski” single by Young Thug and Gunna.

On the track Thugger raps: “Showed her two million cash, now she woozy (woah) / 20 watches and I’m still snoozin’ (20) / I had came up out the trenches, then I had beat a few bodies like Boosie.”

With a laugh, Boosie said, “Yeah, it’s a folklore that I beat some bodies.” He added, “Shout out to Young Thug for that, too.” Boosie shared a story of being at the mall recently when someone came up to him and rapped the bar.

“Like, the other day, he did an interview and he say I’m one of the realest gangsters out there. And I was having a bad day that morning and when I saw that it motivated me, Vlad. It really motivated me that what I was going through was some small sh*t and I was a giant.”

“I appreciate when the generation under me give me my flowers,” said Boosie. Check out Boosie Badazz’s clip and the music video for “Ski” below.

Dylann Roof Appeals Death Sentence In South Carolina Church Mass Murder

In the summer of 2015, White supremacist neo-Nazi Dylann Roof walked into the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in South Carolina and sat through a Bible study service before pulling out a weapon and opening fire. He killed nine people, all Black, and it has been reported that he visited the church eight times prior. He was later apprehended peacefully in North Carolina and it has been stated that officers even picked up Burger King for him.

A jury would later find Roof guilty of all 33 federal charges against him and the 27-year-old has been sentenced to death, but on Tuesday (May 25), it was reported that his legal team is looking to toss out that verdict.

It has been reported that Roof told authorities that he murdered those nine innocent people because he wanted to launch a race war, but now his legal team has stated that he was too “disconnected from reality” so his verdict should not stand.CNN reports that attorneys filed a 300-plus page motion, detailing their request.

“When Dylann Roof represented himself at his capital trial, he was a 22-year-old, ninth-grade dropout diagnosed with schizophrenia-spectrum disorder, autism, anxiety, and depression, who believed his sentence didn’t matter because white nationalists would free him from prison after an impending race war,” the filing reportedly reads.

They also argued that Roof didn’t detail his mental health issues because he believed that he wouldn’t be rescued from prison if they were revealed. The murderer has previously spoken about his heinous crime. “I would like to make it crystal clear. I do not regret what I did,” Roof wrote in his journal following the killings. “I am not sorry. I have not shed a tear for the innocent people I killed.”

SZA Says ‘I Really Hate My Label’ After ‘Good Days’ Dropped Out Of The ‘Billboard’ Hot 100 Chart

SZA has had her fair share of quarrels with her label, Top Dawg Entertainment. An example came on Tuesday after news that her most recent single, “Good Days,” fell out of the Billboard Hot 100 after staying within the singles chart for 20 consecutive weeks. The song was released on Christmas Day and later peaked at No. 9 on the chart before its descent began. After getting word that the song was gone, SZA didn’t take it kindly.

“I really hate my label . So much,” she wrote under a SZA fan account page that shared the news. The singer did not specify why she put the blame on her label. It should also be noted that SZA is signed to both TDE and RCA, so it’s unknown who her comments are exactly directed at, but given her past, it’s safe to guess that the message is aimed at the former.

Last summer, SZA called out TDE’s president, Terrence “Punch” Henderson, for not releasing some of her new music. “At this point y’all gotta ask punch,” she tweeted, adding, “I’ve done all I can do.” SZA’s frustration was exacerbated when one person revealed that Punch merely said “soon” when they asked him about a release date for her upcoming music. “This is all he says to me as well,” she wrote. “Welcome to my f*cking life .”
