J. Cole May Have Jinxed Every NBA Player Mentioned On “The Off-Season”

Die-hard fans of the Los Angeles Lakers were probably quick to direct their anger at Drake following their unexpected first-round exit against the Phoenix Suns, but perhaps it wasn’t the Toronto artist’s fabled “Drake Curse” that sent LeBron James on an early vacation. It might have actually been J. Cole’s fault, as his name-drops on The Off-Season seem to have jinxed several professional basketball players.

According to Bolavip, every NBA player that Cole mentioned on his recent chart-topping studio album has been eliminated from the NBA playoffs. Steph Curry and Dennis Smith Jr. were shouted out on “9 5 . s o u t h” and “a m a r i,” respectively, and they both failed to even reach the playoffs. Curry and the Warriors couldn’t claw their way out of the Play-In Tournament, and Smith Jr. and the Detroit Pistons finished the season at last place in the Eastern Conference.

Two other players that received huge mentions on The Off-Season were Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant and Washington Wizards point guard Russell Westbrook, in “m y . l i f e” and “a m a r i,” respectively. Both Morant and Westbrook were eliminated during the first round of the playoffs, but neither of their teams was projected to make deep playoff runs anyways.

Bolavip‘s conspiracy theory strengthens, however, when considering Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazer‘s devastating defeat at the hands of the Denver Nuggets. One of Lillard’s post-game interviews from the NBA Bubble last summer was prominently sampled in “p u n c h i n ’ . t h e . c l o c k,” and lo and behold, the Trail Blazer point guard’s playoff heroics were surprisingly not enough to save him and his team from a first-round elimination.

The most convincing proof that J. Cole may have actually jinxed NBA players on The Off-Season is LeBron James’ career first of being sent home during the first round of the playoffs. On “1 0 0 . m i l,” Cole rapped, “Can’t leave the game yet, feel like LeBron,” and LeBron and the Lakers were quickly defeated in six games by the Phoenix Suns.

What do you think — is it just a coincidence or would LeBron and the Lakers still be powering through another championship run had it not been for J. Cole’s latest album?

Kodak Black Shows He’s Solid For Life In “Maffioso” Video

Kodak Black’s new music video for “Maffioso,” a song from his latest project Haitian Boy Kodak, starts off with a scene from the rapper’s childhood, stealing a bicycle off of somebody’s porch with his friends. Years later, after successfully getting away with the bike, Kodak Black is still on his mafioso wave, bossing up and showing how he’s living these days.

The video follows Yak and WizdaWizard as they take on the lead roles, running their business over a warm plate of food. Directed by Kutthroat Bill, Kodak seemingly had a lot of input in the clip, which was co-directed by SkinnyWhiteBoi and Cottooverdidit. This is the latest video Kodak has released, dropping a few others in the last few days. At this rate, you can expect him to unleash a few more visuals to accompany the new project.

Silento Denied Bond In Murder Case, Judge Says He’s Dangerous: Report

Silento, known for his signature hit “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae),” has unfortunately been on a downward spiral in the last few months, reflected in his numerous run-ins with the law. Last September, he was arrested in Los Angeles after reportedly storming out of his family home and chasing his alleged girlfriend with a machete. After failing to appear in court, a warrant was then issued for his arrest.

The next month, he was once again arrested for reckless driving and told officers that former POTUS Trump had texted him asking for help. In February of this year, he was then arrested for allegedly murdering his cousin Frederick Rooks in Atlanta, requesting a $25k bond from a judge. According to news reports, Silento will have to remain behind bars until his trial after being denied bond by a judge in the murder investigation.

TMZ reports that the rapper appeared in a hearing on Wednesday (June 9) in DeKalb County, GA where a judge cited his mental health as a titular reason for denying the bond request. His history of illness, as well as his history of not taking medications, make him a danger to release back into the community on bond while the case is still open.

Additionally, the judge noted concerns about the rapper’s history of being in denial of the mental health issues he faces, citing an instance where he once left a California mental health facility. They added there was no telling what other acts he may commit if he refuses to take his meds, therefore making him a serious risk.

Prosecutors explain that even his grandparents were in strong opposition to him being granted bond. Silento’s defense team have aimed to paint a more favorable photo of their client, calling him a local treasure that urged kids to stay away from drugs and alcohol, adding that his problem stems from his bipolar disorder and other mental health issues he’s been battling for some time.

The judge didn’t agree, however, and Silento will remain behind bars for now until his trial. We’ll keep you updated on subsequent developments.

Belly & Moneybaggg Yo’s “Zero Love” Gets New Visuals

Belly has been steadily setting the stage for his upcoming album See You Next Wednesday, having already released three singles — including the recent “Zero Love,” which features none other than Moneybagg Yo. Now, the Canadian rapper has come through with a clean new video for the banger, taking to the desert to hold it down.

Under the watchful eye of director James Larse, who brings a striking visual flair behind the camera, Belly holds it down to shine as a leading man. Surrounded by a mysterious dance-troupe, the XO emcee spits bars from sunrise to sundown. “I’m mixing up wine with the lotus, I’m twisted I’m lost in the moment,” he raps. “Smoke took my eyes out of focus / Baby I’m high but I’m focused.”

Ever the nocturnal one, Moneybagg Yo slides through come nightfall to represent alongside his collaborator. “Got zero love like divorce papers,” he spits. “My new chain came with some more haters / Big country mansion on four acres, I’m a real player not a whore saver.” Be sure to check out the new video for “Zero Love” now, and keep an eye out for Belly’s upcoming See You Next Wednesday album.

Jeffree Star Says Kanye West Isn’t His Type: “He’s Definitely Not For Me”

When it was first reported that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were getting a divorce, they were both attached to a number of potential romantic suitors. The rumor mill was spinning rapidly, linking Kim Kardashian to Van Jones and Kanye West to… Jeffree Star???

After a TikToker made the baseless claims that Kanye West was hooking up with a popular male beauty guru, the world quickly put two and two together, connecting him to Jeffree Star. After all, the two only live a few miles away and they both own property in Wyoming. Jeffree initially went along with the joke but after a while, he admitted that he’s never been romantically involved with the creative. During a recent interview with E! News, the beauty mogul confirmed that he never dated Kanye, revealing that he’s not his type.

“I think the coincidence is crazy when you live in Hidden Hills, two miles away from him and then I’ve always loved Wyoming and I was obviously aware that they had been going there a lot,” said Jeffree Star. “I think the rumors are funny, they’re hilarious. I had no idea that a girl that was on TikTok made it up until recently, so that was a shocker.”

As for whether we might see them date in the future, Jeffree said that Kanye isn’t his type. “I really did mean when, I say I really do like tall men. I think Kanye’s music is amazing, but he’s definitely not for me,” he concluded.

It was confirmed today that Kanye West is “100% romantically linked” to supermodel Irina Shayk. So, it seems as though Jeffree isn’t Kanye’s type either. Can we dead these rumors, now?

Check Out A Photo Of Drake’s $400K Mattress

Drake’s incredible Toronto mansion was featured in Architectural Digest last year, giving his admirers the first look inside his Embassy. As he showed off some of the most stunning features of his home, including the NBA-sized indoor basketball court, Olympic-sized pool, and more, Drake showed off his bedroom, introducing the world to one of the most expensive mattresses, which he sleeps on every night.

The mattress is made out of horsehair and stingray skin, selling for over $395,000. The bed was designed as a collaboration with Ferris Rafauli. Drake’s mattress resurfaced on the internet this week after DJ Akademiks shared a picture of it on his popular page.

Weighing nearly half a ton, over 600 hours of work went into the creation of this mattress. Drake previously explained that the mattress helps him “decompress from the world at the end of the night and [it’s] where I open my eyes to seize the day.” He added that it “lets you float.”

Considering he says he only loves his bed and his momma, it makes sense that Drake would cash out $400,000, which is the price of a house in some cities, on his mattress.

Take a look at his bed below and let us know if you could ever fathom spending this much money on a mattress.

Yung Nudy Locks Down The Streets In His Straightforward ‘Soul Keeper’ Video

Young Nudy’s new album Dr. Ev4l is out now on RCA Records and as he continues to roll out the release, his new video for “Soul Keeper” highlights what fans can expect from the project overall: airy beats and a non-stop flow from Nudy. It’s simple but effective, as Nudy raps in a penthouse overlooking the city and in the street with his crew backing him up.

Nudy’s other standouts from the project include “2Face” with G Herbo and 21 Savage on “Child’s Play.” The album is his second major-label realease after debut project Anyways dropped just ahead of the coronavirus pandemic’s shutdown of live touring in 2020.

Nudy’s back catalog recently made headlines when a video of partying students causing a floor to collapse while Nudy’s “EA” played in the background went viral. One of the students created a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for repairs, explaining that the owner of the Airbnb where the party was held was home during the party and approved of the students’ graduation celebration. “Call y’all spam Young Nudy ina comments,” the student requested. “He gotta kno what his music doin to people.”
