Ed Sheeran Jokes About His And Beyonce’s Famously Contrasting Outfits From A 2018 Performance

Back in 2018, Ed Sheeran and Beyonce performed their duet “Perfect” at Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100, an event that honored Nelson Mandela a century after his birth. While Sheeran wore a simple outfit consisting of jeans and a casual shirt, Beyonce was wearing a flashy violet gown. As Insider noted at the time, this sparked conversations, with some saying the different outfits sent a message about gender standards while others argued that both artists dressed true to their respective styles.

Whatever the case, last night, Sheeran and James Corden joked about the moment on The Late Late Show.

As part of his week-long residency on the program, Sheeran joined the host for a segment called “Side Effects May Include.” The bit parodies medical ads by listing off fake side effects for non-medical things. One of the topics was “being underdressed next to Beyonce” and Sheeran and Corden took turns reading off the side effects, with Corden going first:

  • “Everyone being like, ‘Ed, what were you thinking?’”
  • “Being like, ‘I thought I looked nice, and then Beyonce shows up.’”
  • “Igniting a public debate about our cultural expectations of men and women”
  • “Being like, ‘Ugh, did I really look that bad? I mean, the t-shirt was clean!’”
  • “Really ticking off the Beyhive with your casual disrespect”
  • “Listen, James, if you’ve never stood next to Beyonce, you just can’t understand what you’re up against.”
  • “Getting the entire internet’s opinion of your shoes”
  • “Knowing that, in my heart of hearts, no matter what I might’ve worn, I am still me standing next to Beyonce.”

NBA Fans Thought Lil Wayne Was Chris Paul’s Mom Last Night

The Phoenix Suns pulled off the unthinkable last night, defeating the Los Angeles Clippers in a blowout to move onto the NBA Finals. Chris Paul dominated for much of the game, ending up with forty-one points. They’ve still got four more games to win, but it’s looking like CP3 finally has a chance to get himself a ring.

As the point guard celebrated following the team’s victory, he spotted rapper Lil Wayne in the courtside area, calling him over to party on the hardwood. The two go all the way back to the start of Paul’s career in New Orleans, Tunechi’s hometown. The cameras picked up the moment Wayne and Paul embraced on the court, but fans were convinced that they were witnessing a tearful celebration involving CP3 and his mother.

“My mom thought Chris Paul was hugging his mom & it was Lil Wayne,” tweeted one fan with a video of the embrace. “I thought Lil Wayne was Chris Paul Grandma,” joked another person.

From the back, all anybody could see was that Chris Paul was hugging somebody with long blonde dreadlocks. Dozens of people assumed that it was one of the baller’s family members but nope… just Lil Wayne!

50 Cent Is Tripping Out About Bill Cosby’s Release From Prison

On Wednesday, the entire world was shocked to learn that Bill Cosby’s sexual assault conviction had been unexpectedly overturned. Within hours the disgraced comedian was released from prison, and after serving two years in prison, Cosby was officially a free man. Naturally, the news spread like wildfire, and it has sparked countless reactions, from Boosie Badazz welcoming him home to Phylicia Rashad reiterating her belief that Cosby was innocent all along.

No one seems to be having more of a field day with Cosby’s recent release, however, than 50 Cent. Upon hearing the news on Wednesday, the rapper-turned-television executive posted a creepy throwback picture of Jell-O Puddding Pop ad that featured Bill Cosby, along with the caption “My son Bill beat that case, These hoe’s be tripping.” Early Thursday morning, Cosby’s newfound freedom was obviously still tickling 50 Cent because he returned to Instagram with yet another Cosby-related joke.

The rapper shared a throwback video from Bill Cosby’s 2018 that ironically became a meme due to Cosby’s goofy antics during such a high stakes case. In the video, Cosby moves comically, ducking side to side as if to evade the press, and now the video has a whole new context considering that Cosby eventually beat the case.

“LOL Bill Cosby back on the loose,” 50 Cent jokes in the post’s caption before promoting a few of his own properties. “Catch FOR LIFE on IMDb Tv. #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi.”

Hip-Hop artists like J.I.D have already been responding to jokes like 50’s with distaste, so stay tuned to see if anyone presses the former G-Unit rapper about his nonstop Bill Cosby jokes. In the meantime, check out 50 Cent’s hilarious post below.

Fans React To Brent Faiyaz & Drake’s Potential Song Of The Summer

We heard rumblings this week that Brent Faiyaz would be releasing a new collaboration with Drake, and the duo of artists officially came through on Wednesday night with the release of their new track “Wasting Time.” The Neptunes-produced cut is on all streaming services right now, marking a momentous occasion in Brent Faiyaz’s career. The 25-year-old singer has been bubbling for years as one of the strongest forces in modern R&B but this song is set to boost him into a new dimension.

As you likely already know, Drake’s stimulus package has proven to be more vital than Biden’s. The rapper can make any rapper/singer a platinum-selling performer by blessing them with his co-sign, which he has so generously done again. And the fans are seriously feeling this collaboration, going so far as to claim that “Wasting Time” could be the eventual song of the summer.

Aside from the songs that Spotify detailed earlier this week, there haven’t been any clear-cut choices for the 2021 song of the summer. Brent Faiyaz and Drake may have just delivered their entry though, with fans raving over the new track on social media this morning. Both of the artist’s names are trending on Twitter with thousands and thousands of music lovers commenting on the high-profile release.

Listen to the song above and let us know what you think of it. Check out what fans have been saying below.

Biz Markie Is Still Alive Despite Rumors Of His Death, According To His Manager

There were rumors last night that rapper Biz Markie had died at 57. Now, though, his manager has confirmed that those rumors are false and that the rapper is currently alive.

In a statement to Pitchfork, the rapper’s manager, Jenni Izumi, said, “The news of Biz Markie’s passing is not true. Biz is still under medical care, surrounded by professionals who are working hard to provide the best health care possible. Biz’s wife and family are touched by the outpouring of love and admiration from his friends, peers, and fans alike. At this time, we ask for your continued thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

The rapper has faced health struggles in recent years. Last year, he was hospitalized due to complications with diabetes, with which he was originally diagnosed in 2010.

Three years following his diagnosis, Markie told ABC News, “I wanted to live. Since I have to be a diabetic, if I didn’t make the changes, it was going to make the diabetes worse. I’m trying to get off [the Diabetes meds]. The way you gotta do it is lose the weight. I’m off half my meds, I just got to get off the rest.”

The rapper found his biggest mainstream success with his 1989 single “Just A Friend,” which peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was his sole song to appear on the chart. His most recent album, Weekend Warrior, was released in 2003.
