Cardi B Clarifies Kodak Black’s Credit On “Bodak Yellow”: “We Both Getting Rich”

Cardi B’s breakout hit single “Bodak Yellow” has officially been certified diamond, making her the first solo woman in rap to achieve such a feat. The tremendous accomplishment has been celebrated by a number of forces within the music industry, including Kodak Black, a man who strongly influenced the single’s flows and title. The track interpolates Kodak’s flow in “No Flockin”.

While Cardi has always given Kodak the credit he deserves for inspiring her diamond-certified single, the star was forced to clear some things up on Twitter when a fan checked her, asking why Kodak wasn’t getting any money from the song.

“He got credit on the song,” she clarified on Twitter. “WE both getting rich with the song till we die.. The song is called Bodak Yellow for a reason. You hoes get on this app saying the dumbest sh*t.” The post was shared on DJ Akademiks’ popular blog page on Instagram, where Kodak Black dropped a “like”. The original tweet was accompanied by a screenshot of a HotNewHipHop article from a couple of years ago, in which Kodak praised the superstar rapper. “That’s my twin,” he said in January 2019, suggesting that if Cardi wins, he also wins.

Cardi B also addressed her relationship with “WAP” collaborator Megan Thee Stallion in a recent interview, explaining that she was “too shy” to contact the rapper for nearly a full year.

Congratulations to Cardi B on going diamond. And congratulations to Kodak too for being credited on a diamond single!

Gillie Da Kid Recalls How Dissing Lil Wayne Derailed His “Gangsta Grillz” Tape

Gillie Da Kid and Wallo have been holding it down with Million Dollaz Worth Of Game, easily one of the most entertaining hip-hop podcasts right now. And sometimes, it can even be educational, as it was following the appearance of DJ Drama. As it happens, Gillie and Drama were originally supposed to do a Gangsta Grillz tape, only to have it completely derailed by a series of unfortunate events — events that may or may not have been influenced by Lil Wayne.

In the early moments of the podcast, the conversation shifts to Lil Wayne and Gillie Da Kid’s early millennium feud, which found Gillie going at his former Cash Money affiliate on Wayne’s own “Cannon” instrumental. Gillie explains how at the time, Drama had reached out to do a Gangsta Grillz mixtape with him, an offer that Da Kid was eager to accept. Upon sending him the music, however, a slight issue occurred.

“I said ‘Drama, Wayne just put out some shit dissing me,’ and I’m about to drop this bomb on him,'” explains Gillie. “I didn’t send that to Drama, cause I don’t want to put you in the middle of that cause I know you and Wayne are all good. Drama said what every DJ is supposed to say: ‘nah man, I don’t care about that shit. I’m a DJ, I ain’t got nothing to do with it. Put that shit out, we can put that on the tape.'” Drama chuckles: “it was the worst thing I could have said.”

Gillie continues his tale. As Drama proceeded to head overseas with T.I, Gillie seized momentum and unleashed his Weezy response, the “Cannon” freestyle. “I put that shit out, and by the time Drama comes back, I done been on every fuckin’ radio station.” Drama jumps in to offer a counterpoint. “Do you remember what beat it was on?” he asks Wallo. “That’s one thing we didn’t discuss. He’s factual on everything he’s saying, but he went off the ‘Cannon’ beat. The classic, hottest record on Dedication 2. Gil takes the ‘Cannon’ beat, and goes crazy on that shit.”

It was then that Drama knew he messed up. “This shit sounds like I’m really co-signing it,” he muses, prompting a laugh from Gillie. A hilarious moment ensues as Wallo queues up Gillie’s “Cannon” and adds his own “Gangsta Grillz” tags. Gillie takes it back to the tale at hand, recalling how everything changed after Drama came back from overseas. “I got that call,” explains Gillie. “He said ‘we gon’ put Gangsta Grillz out, but we just gonna put a little halt on that muthafucka.”

“I talked to Tunechi,” explains Drama. “It was right after Dedication 2 arguably one of the biggest mixtapes ever. So mind you, he’s on fuckin’ fire. I’m on another level with the tapes, and beyond that, it was the two of us going in. I did say that to Gillie, I ain’t gon’ deny that…I don’t remember if I brought it up to Wayne, but I told him I’m about to do a tape with Gill. This happened, but we just doing a tape with other shit. He said ‘you can do what you want, but me and you will never do a tape again.'”

I’m on Dedication 7 right about now,” laughs Drama. Check out the hilarious and interesting bit of hip-hop history below, courtesy of Gillie Da Kid and Wallo’s Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast.

Meyers Leonard’s Punishment For Anti-Semitic Slur Revealed

Perhaps Meyers Leonard should consider scrubbing certain words from his vocabulary for the next twenty months, much like Papa John’s former CEO ridiculously stated that he’s been doing following his “n-word” controversy. The Miami Heat forward was streaming himself playing Call of Duty with friends when he shouted an anti-Semitic slur, calling someone a “k*ke” before laughing. The move comes following Leonard’s decision to become the only player on the Miami Heat who stood during the National Anthem while the team was kneeling in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement during the NBA Playoffs.

After the video of Meyers Leonard using a racist word on his stream went viral, people began to hold him accountable for his actions, calling for him to be fined heavily, or even cut from the team. Leonard issued an apology on Tuesday evening, but that wasn’t enough for fans of the Miami Heat, and especially the Jewish community, who was offended by Leonard’s slur. The Heat announced following Leonard’s apology that he would be punished immediately, leaving the team for an indefinite amount of time as the NBA investigates.

“The Miami HEAT vehemently condemns the use of any form of hate speech,” said the team in a statement. “The words used by Meyers Leonard were wrong and we will not tolerate hateful language from anyone associated with our franchise. To hear it from a Miami HEAT player is especially disappointing and hurtful to all those who work here, as well as the larger South Florida, Miami HEAT, and NBA communities.

Meyers Leonard will be away from the team indefinitely. The Miami HEAT will cooperate with the NBA while it conducts its investigation.”

This is a developing story and we will keep you updated with more information as it becomes available.

6ix9ine Reveals How Much Money He Made In Prison

The slick-tongued Tekashi 6ix9ine is back in full force, attempting to reclaim his spot as rap’s biggest supervillain. Among his latest targets have been Meek Mill, whom he recently challenged to a one-on-one fight, Lil Durk, who he’s been antagonizing with constant reminders of his deceased family members and friends, and many others.

The controversial rapper was previously taken down following a high-profile arrest for racketeering, among other crimes. Tekashi is infamous for “snitching” on his closest allies, including his former manager Shotti and other members of the Nine Trey gang. During his time in prison though, 6ix9ine’s music continued to get streamed by people who were fascinated by his case, which earned him a wealthy record deal behind bars. During his latest update, the Brooklyn rapper revealed exactly how much more money he came home to once he was released.

Posting a picture of himself in front of a bright red Rolls-Royce, which was among the fleet of cars he showed off during his Meek Mill taunting video on Tuesday, 6ix9ine gave a breakdown of all he’s accomplished in the last five years. “2017 : I was delivering food, 2018 : I took over the rap game, 2019 : I was facing 47 years to life,” wrote 6ix9ine. “2020 : I got out of jail 20 million dollars richer, 2021 : I’m thanking GOD.”

Not many will be happy to hear that the troll rapper came home to an additional twenty million dollars, but 6ix9ine has gotten to a point where people hate him so much that they’ll watch his videos and stream his music just to share their negative comments.

Do you think he will have a successful 2021 campaign?
