Kid Cudi Responds To A Fan Asking If He’s On Kanye West’s “DONDA”

If you were hoping for a Kids See Ghosts reunion this week, you’re unfortunately going to need to wait a little longer. Kid Cudi revealed that he will not be featured on Kanye West’s upcoming new album DONDA, which is set to release tonight.

Fans have been speculating about the new album’s tracklist after it was teased last night when Kanye posted a picture with Playboi Carti in the studio, which featured a whiteboard with the tracklist in plain view. With a Carti feature all but confirmed, and other features including Chris Brown, Future, Baby Keem, Travis Scott, and others rumored, diehard Yeezy stans were curious to find out whether ‘Ye’s close friend Kid Cudi would be included on the album, but it looks like that won’t be the case.

Posting a new photo of himself on Twitter and responding to a fan who joked that he looked like somebody who was featured on DONDA, Cudder said, “I am not. Sorry.”

As we wait for the official tracklist to be unveiled, we now know who not to expect in the liner notes. Who do you absolutely want to see on this album?

Five Years Ago, Gucci Mane & Young Thug Reunited On “Guwop Home”

In 2021, long gone are the days where #FreeGuwop would regularly trend on Twitter. The once-incarcerated Atlanta artist has kept all legal drama at bay over the past 5 years, and now he is mentoring a new generation of successful artists, including Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, Big Scarr, and Hotboy Wes. The fact that Gucci was released from prison just 5 years ago is inspiring and absolutely mind-blowing, and there’s no better way to commemorate Guwop’s post-prison journey than with the album that (re)started it all.

Five years ago today, Gucci Mane released Everybody Looking, a 15-track album that served as the Atlanta veteran’s first full-length release since being released from prison in May 2016, and the project featured guest appearances from Drake, Kanye West, and Young Thug as well as plenty of production from Mike Will Made-It and Zaytoven.

No collaboration on Everybody Looking was as celebratory or organic, however, as Gucci Mane’s long-awaited reunion with Young Thug. Even though Thug’s style had gotten increasingly experimental since Gucci had gone to prison, the chemistry of their mentor-mentee relationship made it sound like they hadn’t missed a step on “Guwop Home.”

Quotable Lyrics

Run it up to the top
Get out and ran it back to the top
Flood your ear, your neck, your wrist, your fingers
And put it all on rocks
Say Guwop home and yeah it’s official, grab some tissues
What’s wrong with you?

Air Jordan 1 “Atmosphere” Pays Homage To MJ’s Bubblegum Obsession

Michael Jordan’s sneaker legacy began with the Air Jordan 1 and over the years, Jumpman has brought out dozens upon dozens of fantastic colorways. At this point, it seems highly unlikely that the Jordan 1 would ever go away, and this is something that should be celebrated. It is one of the best shoes on the planet and it can pretty well be worn with anything. Even in 2021, this silhouette is in style and as a result, Jordan Brand has some dope releases planned for the Fall and even the Holiday season.

One of the latest models to be shown off comes from @zsneakerheadz in the form of the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Atmosphere” which is a women’s exclusive. According to the post below, this shoe is meant to be an homage to MJ’s love of bubblegum which he could always be seen chewing on the sidelines. The color scheme matches this love as we see pink patent leather on the toe box, back heel, and even the outsole. The rest of the shoe has a white base with black overlays, and overall, it’s an eye-popping look.

The rumored release date for these has been set to December 22nd of this year although this is still subject to change. Let us know what you think of this new colorway, in the comments and poll below. Also, stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest updates from the sneaker world.

Jordan Peele Announces New Film “Nope”; Sets July 2022 Release Date

Key and Peele star-turned-accomplished-director Jordan Peele has revealed the title, poster, main cast and release date for his upcoming film titled Nope. According to the film poster, it will be another horror film in the vein of Us and Get Out and is slated for release in theaters on July 22, 2022.

The confirmed cast so far appears in bold at the bottom of the poster, with Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya returning in the leading role, actress Keke Palmer and Minari star Steven Yeun rounding out the confirmed cast. Both Kaluuya and Yeun received Best Actor Oscar nominations for those films at the Academy Awards.

The film poster shows a visual of a mountain scenery with a cloudy background tinted in dark blue, with a distinct, smaller cloud hovering over a nearby mountain town, indicating a looming danger to the residents of that area. As his previous two films have dealt with complicated race issues as it pertains to Black individuals in America and laying them subtly under the confines and tones of the horror film genre, it could be assumed that he’ll touch on similar issues again with Nope. The poster signifies that the film could possibly be more about environmental issues with the cloud in the poster serving as a looming threat.

A former sketch comedian and writer, Jordan Peele has taken his talents to the big screen in somewhat of a surprising manner, directing films solely in the horror genre so far. Though, Get Out and Us have featured moments of smart social and race humor that have eased the tensions in his majority suspenseful films. He has received multiple Oscar nominations for his work on Get Out, including nods for Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay and Best Director. Time will tell if Nope can create buzz in the awards circuit next year.

Check out the first poster for Nope below and let us know what you’re expecting from Jordan Peele’s latest effort.

NFL Announces Incredibly Strict COVID-19 Rules For Next Season

Last season, the NFL had an incredibly difficult time coming up with ways to limit the spread of COVID-19. There were various instances where games had to be canceled and rescheduled due to the fact that teams had suffered some bad outbreaks. Eventually, the NFL was able to get things under control and when it comes to the postseason, everything had died down quite a bit.

Now, the NFL is gearing up for its first-ever 18-week, 17-game season and the league is taking some dramatic actions to make sure teams stay in line and take COVID-19 seriously. According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the league will actually be fining teams a considerable amount for violations of the COVID-19 policy and when it comes to individual games, some teams might have to forfeit.

In the tweets below, it is revealed that the league has no interest in rescheduling games this season. As a result, the team with the outbreak will have to forfeit and have a loss counted against their record. There are also massive implications when it comes to the financial well-being of the players. Essentially, if a game is not played due to an outbreak, no one from either side will be paid.

“If a game is cancelled and cannot be rescheduled within the current 18-week scheduled due to a Covid outbreak, neither team’s players will receive their weekly paragraph 5 salary,” the NFL’s memo to all 32 teams read.

Needless to say, the NFL is not messing around right now, and they want to make sure this season goes by smoothly and without any hiccups. It’s easy to see why the league would do this, although it might not go over so smoothly with the players and the owners.

Yasiin Bey Responds To Thelonious Monk Biopic Controversy

With the success of Freddie Mercury and Elton John’s bopics in the past few years, Hollywood has been quick to produce more. Marvin Gaye and Bernie Mac’s biopics remain on the way, however jazz legend Thelonious Monk’s long-awaited biopic- detailing his struggles in the music industry and his own personal life- has hit a roadblock.

It seems his estate may stop the production of the Thelonioius, spearheaded by Jupiter Rising Film, over disputes about the quality and integrity of the film and script. It only took a day for star of Thelonious, musician Yasiin Bey (AKA Mos Def), to make a statement about the family’s attack on the biopic.

In an Instagram post this morning, Bey showed support for the family and admits he was lied to about the family’s permission when he signed on as the lead.

“To be clear, I was given every indication by the production company that the family was on board,” Bey said as he implicated Jupiter Rising Films as being dishonest. “That was one of my primary questions. … I took them at their word and clearly that wasn’t the case.” It seems the family’s approval was important to the actor, yet Jupiter Films Rising withheld the proper information.

Still, Bey has hope that he can be involved in a future, more inclusive production: “I wanna show love and respect to him and to his family and to his estate and say that I stand with you,” he said, while offering that he would be “super excited” to work on a film in accordance with the family.

T.S. Monk, the son of the jazz icon, initially blasted the film yesterday in an email to Pitchfork: “There is no involvement by anyone in the Monk family with this project, and we actually condemn the effort.”
