Kanye West & Dr. Dre Deliver Heavenly Vibes In “Glory” Snippet

Kanye West is currently living at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta where he is finishing up his brand new album DONDA. Over the last few hours, West has been teasing fans with the new project as he is currently in the midst of doing an IRL live stream that depicts him in his small room in the stadium. The album is expected to be out by tonight, however, when it comes to Kanye, we all know anything can happen.

When Jesus Is King was released in 2019, Kanye posted a photo of himself in the studio with Dr. Dre, where he claimed that Dre would actually be producing Jesus Is King 2. While this project never came, West and Dre have remained in contact with one another, and now, it looks like a brand new collaboration between the two will be appearing on DONDA‘s tracklist.

We know this because Beats by Dre just took to Twitter with a new commercial featuring Sha’Carri Richardson. This time around, the commercial features a new song called “Glory” which features production efforts from Dre. If you watched the Apple Music live stream two weeks ago, you would know that this is the song that kicked off the entire event. This time around, however, there are some added drums and verses.

So far, the reactions to the snippet have been mixed. Some fans are loving the gospel sounds, however, the verses near the end of the commercial appear to be disjointed and disorienting upon first listen. Of course, the final product will sound a bit more fleshed out, although that doesn’t take away from the initial feeling the snippet provides.

You can see what people have to say about the new Dr. Dre and Kanye collab, below.

Victoria Monét Is Willing To Go Coast To Coast On Her Funky “Coastin'” Single

Victoria Monét is one of the most talented singer-songwriters in the music industry. In addition to her work for other major artists like Ariana Grande, Chloe X Halle, Selena Gomez, and Brandy, among plenty others, the beloved artist and new mom has proven through her solo output that she has an unrivaled knack for crafting playfully flirtatious and undeniably infectious records.

Several months after releasing the cleverly penned track “F.U.C.K.,” Victoria Monét is back with another post-Jaguarrelease titled “Coastin'”. The three-minute track practically oozes summertime vibes, and the song’s funky instrumental is the perfect soundscape for Monét’s crisp vocals.

“If sunshine and a good time (and maybe a lil drank) were a song, it would be “Coastin'”!” the Grammy-nominated R&B artist said when speaking on her latest single. “It’s made for people with that good, chill energy and the bassline instantly puts you in a certain feel! Shoutout to the Stereotypes for killing this production. We wanted this song to represent that freedom to finally go outside. After the year we’ve had, it feels even better to be able to finally Coast freely, make unforgettable memories and have a good ass time. Might I add it sounds especially good in the car, poolside or near any beach. Press play and let’s Coast!”

Listen to “Coastin'” below, and let us know in the comments if you’re feeling Victoria Monét’s latest release.

Quotable Lyrics

Baby all I do is…is
Think of the way
The ways I wanna give you this ass
Just how you like
Feel like a Thursday how I’m throwing it back
Imma make it go north south east west coast
Baby we can go north south east west coast

Action Bronson Hits Milestone Weight Loss Goal; Joe Rogan & Others Show Support

Action Bronson has been living in the gym since the COVID-19 pandemic forced everyone inside. For some, months of being holed up at home has allowed them to make important lifestyle changes, which is what Bronson did. According to an interview with Men’s Health about his weight loss transformation, he started his journey in March 2020, at around 400 pounds.

Now, a recent post shared to his Instagram account revealed that the rapper has hit an amazing milestone weight of 240 pounds, down an entire 160 pounds from his initial start goal. Many celebrity friends left comments of support for his ongoing journey under the post.

In the video, Bronson rightfully flexes his transformed physique, which includes more defined arms and a well-rounded chest and figure in comparison to where he began his weight loss journey. His caption jokingly makes clear that he’s preparing his physique for his first concert back since the pandemic shutdowns.

“FEELING STRONG. CHIPPING AWAY LITTLE BY LITTLE. NEVER GONNA STOP. GETTING READY FOR MY FIRST CONCERT BACK. CONEY ISLAND AUGUST 21st BE THERE OR BE SQUARE.” Bronson said.

“My brother, you look f*cking fantastic! Such an inspiration for people to see that incredible things are possible when you dedicate yourself and harness your discipline. I’m immensely impressed!!!” Podcast host and UFC color commentator Joe Rogan commented, showing his support for Bronson’s ongoing journey.

Jorja Smith Delivers New Single “All Of This”

Jorja Smith, while cultivating her own brand of r’n’b, is somehow still unpredictable in her releases. She’s dabbled in a range of sounds, all with an effortless success– from the more soulful and classic-sounding “Teenage Fantasy” to the groovy “Bussdown” to the afrobeats-inspired “Be Honest.” Today’s new release finds her confidently steering us into what may be a little-known genre called ‘Ampiano.’ Described as “a style of house music that emerged from South Africa in 2012,” that late-night influence is definitely present on “All of This.”

The single is interesting in that, over the course of the five-minute-plus record (that in itself unique), the beat and the vocals essentially take turns at being the listener’s focal point. Production– and thus the direction– for this electronic-bent sound comes from DJ Guilty Beatz, whom Jorja met at a writing camp she attended in Jamaica.

“He’s so wonderful to work with and when we initially started the song, it was more a fall to the floor type beat,” the UK singer said of making the record. “He’s shared Amapiano playlists with me before and then during the first lockdown in 2020, he sent me a version of the song like it is now. We then finished writing the song remotely, exchanging messages over WhatsApp with his girlfriend Abby who is also a writer. It’s all about someone who doesn’t deserve you and thinking wow, you really had all of my once, ew.”

Julius Randle Signs Massive Extension With The Knicks

Julius Randle had a phenomenal season with the New York Knicks last year, and in many ways, he was the reason why this team was able to have so much success in the regular season. The Knicks got the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference and in the eyes of many, they were a dark horse team in the playoffs. Unfortunately for them, they lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Atlanta Hawks who ended up going on an improbable run to the Eastern Conference Finals.

In the offseason, the Knicks have made some big moves, including the signing of Kemba Walker, and the re-signing of Derrick Rose. With their backcourt solidified, the Knicks have been focusing on Randle who is up for a new contract soon.

Luckily, the Knicks got some good news today on that front as it was reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN that Randle signed a four-year extension worth $117 million. Randle could have gotten more money in free agency next year, although he decided to commit to the Knicks which is a big deal for the franchise given recent history.

Randle is instrumental to the success of the Knicks so there is no denying that this is a great signing for the team, moving forward. With all of these pieces in place, the Knicks could find themselves taking a leap this year.

Lupe Fiasco Skates On The “Sing About Me” Instrumental In “Forrest Fires” Freestyle

While everyone has been praising Jadakiss’ Verzuz performance, Lupe Fiasco has been quietly continuing his bar-ridden freestyle rampage. Over the past week, the Food & Liquor has dropped off several lyrical clinics, including “Teach A Man How To Fish,” “Carrera Luis Hamilton Jr.,” “On Your Left,” “SBA Lu,” and “Whale Wit.” His latest run of freestyles has even captured the attention of Tyler, the Creator, who recently took to Twitter to give the Chicago-born rapper his props.

Today, Lupe Fiasco has proven once again that he is in fact “going crazy,” by dropping off a fresh new freestyle over the iconic instrumental to Kendrick Lamar’s “Sing About Me.”

Titled “Forest Fires,” the one-minute lyrical exercise opens up with Lupe clarifying that this is just “evening practice.” In addition to getting some timely Veruz and Jason’s Lyric bars off, Lupe also heavily teases his next album, which he recently claimed may be titled “Drill Music In Zion.”

Give Lupe’s latest freestyle a listen below and let us know if you’re looking forward to a full body of work from the Tetsuo & Youth artist.

Quotable Lyrics

I am only going vegan if I’m Jada in the garden, okay kay?
I only did this freestyle to treat it like a movie to sneak that bar in, look
If I’m hungry, I’ll be scarfing, I will eat it if I’m starving
I’mma drop my joint in March cuz I wanna compete with Martin, okay kay?

Young Thug Gets A Slaughter Gang Tattoo; 21 Savage Approves

There’s nothing like showing love between artists with some well-crafted ink. Such was the case with Young Thug, who recently got a “Slaughter Gang” tattoo to show his strong bond and appreciation for rap colleague 21 Savage. Slaughter Gang is the name of 21’s sub-label and team under Epic Records, and the Atlanta rapper has cultivated an identity through his music and general aesthetic with that branding. A frequent collaborator with 21, Thug revealed his new arm tattoo on Instagram on Wednesday night.

The tattoo was done by artist Dee Cosey, who reposted the tattoo in its full form on his Instagram page, along with a close up of its details. Check out the tattoo below.

In response to Thug’s new tattoo, 21 posted it to his story with a simple “4L” caption, indicating his stamp of approval with a phrase he helped popularize that means “for life.” He has a song titled after the same phrase featuring fellow Atlanta rapper Young Nudy on his 2018 record i am > i was. Thug and 21 most recently collaborated on “Rich N**** Sh*t” off Savage Mode II, the 2020 sequel to his 2016 collaborative project with producer Metro Boomin that broke him into the hip-hop world as an up-and-coming artist out of Atlanta.

As far as Young Thug’s work goes, the last time the two collaborated on a Thug track was on “I’m Scared” with Doe Boy off his 2019 project So Much Fun, which was met with positive reception from fans and critics. Thug’s new era is in full swing after he appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk last week to debut four new songs, which are presumed to be cuts off his forthcoming record Punk, due out on October 15th. Thug is generally not afraid to include multiple guest features on his records, so it is very much possible that we could be hearing 21 Savage on one of these new, punk-rock-influenced tracks.
