Stadium Goods and Artist Terrell “Rello” Jones Partner for Limited-edition Collection

Stadium Goods and Artist Terrell “Rello” Jones Partner for Limited-edition Collection

Terrell “Rello” Jones, a Chicago-based contemporary artist, has collaborated with Stadium Goods on a limited-edition collection.

The Rello x Stadium Goods Varsity Jacket is a limited-edition collaboration that contains figures from Rello’s work, as well as an homage to his birthplace. Rello focuses on pop art and products, which he depicts in his signature modern-day rubber hose illustration style. He and Joe Freshgoods were co-founders of the Fat Tiger Workshop, the iconic Windy City brand, and boutique.

“The Rello x Stadium Goods Varsity jacket is a collaboration that takes elements from my iconography to create something wearable that can also serve as an art piece on its own,” said Rello. “By wearing one of my pieces, you can have a daily reminder that without the imagination of the people, there would be no art.”

Each Rello x Stadium Goods Varsity Jacket is hand-numbered, emphasizing the project’s apparel-as-art motif. This premium wool piece comes in blue and red and has an embroidered patch of Rello’s iconic “Ozzy the Bad Mouse” character on the left breast. On the back, a large chenille “Ozzy” patch is sewn. The quilted inner lining adds warmth and comfort to the heavyweight construction. The jacket costs $500 and comes in sizes XS to XXL.

The jacket is available for purchase on stadiumgoods.com and the Stadium Goods app, as well as Stadium Goods’ Chicago store.

EBONY’s Kera McCain Speaks to the Importance of Amplifying Black Voices

IMG 2702

If a person were to ask how does one amplify African American voices through a storytelling medium, that person can point to EBONY’s Head of marketing, Kera McCain.

Kera McCain prides herself in curating, shaping and amplifying the stories of the most influential Black voices. While she says it took time to get there, “’I’ve been doing that my entire life.”

“It’s an honor to be in the position to amplify the stories of people with the energy and ambition to shift culture,” says McCain.

While she has assumed the role as Head of Marketing at the historic EBONY Media, the goal and intention remains the same.

Kera McCain joined EBONY in November 2021 after more than a decade of executing marketing initiatives for top brands such as Live Nation Entertainment, Revolt TV, Ticketmaster, Condé Nast, Allure Beauty, Vogue and more.

She arrived at her purpose after a personal soliloquy of her potential career as an actress. McCain was aware that she would not commit to the craft as a thespian, but could establish the runway to take off in another way.

“I knew I wanted to help magnify a connection from a person to a brand,” she says. “I knew I wanted to maximize the visibility of whatever I was involved in. I learned what that was in particular and it was making an emotional connection to something, which is marketing.”

She references the importance of her community of friends

In last month’s cover story, EBONY Media featured Teyana Taylor, Iman Shumpert and their two daughters, Julie and Rue.

These are the stories that EBONY has continued to amplify throughout its illustrious history. Under new leadership with owner Junior Bridgeman and Chairwoman, Michele Gee, the publication gears up for another era of Black excellence that will keep flame burning on the EBONY legacy. At its marketing helm, Kera McCain is thankful for their style of leadership.

“I feel a sense of rocket fuel being here,” says McCain. “Both Mr. Bridgeman and our Chairwoman, Michele Gee, are leading us in a way that does not have to be conventional or safe. To be at a company that prides itself on, ‘I may not be sure of what it looks like, but let’s try it,’ there is no better place to be.”

Australian Singer Rini Brings The Sensitive ‘Talk To Me’ To ‘UPROXX Sessions’

UPROXX Sessions goes global (again) with Australian R&B singer Rini, who brings a silky performance of his sensitive track “Talk To Me” to the set. Rocking a snakeskin-patterned shirt, Rini shows off his smooth falsetto as he sings of a simmering attraction and prepares to make his play.

Rini got his start busking on the streets of Melbourne before putting out the self-released After The Sun EP and embarking on an Austrailian tour in 2018. Then, in 2019, he relocated to Los Angeles, looking to truly break out on an international scale. In 2020, he told DJ Booth he wants to bring Melbourne’s diverse culture to the US, while also opening up opportunities for the R&B scene back home. He certainly has the chops for it; as demonstrated on singles like the Earthgang featuring “Out Of The Blue” and “Red Lights” with Wale.

Watch Rini glide through the pleading performance of “Talk To Me” for UPROXX Sessions above.

UPROXX Sessions is Uproxx’s performance show featuring the hottest up-and-coming acts you should keep an eye on. Featuring creative direction from LA promotion collective, Ham On Everything, and taking place on our “bathroom” set designed and painted by Julian Gross, UPROXX Sessions is a showcase of some of our favorite performers, who just might soon be yours, too.

Cardi B Blasts DJ For Calling Her Nicki Minaj

Everyone should know by now that Cardi B is not scared of anyone. The media mogul has had her fair share of arguments and doesn’t mind clapping back at anyone when necessary. Whether it’s on or offline, the mother of two will take it there if she feels disrespected.

This was the case last night when she and her family went out clubbing in New York. While there, she partied in a section with her husband, Offset, and her sister, Hennessy Carolina. As music blasted and lights flickered, the DJ came over the mic and yelled, “Shoutout to Nicki Minaj in the motherf*cking building. Let’s go.” He followed up by playing one of Nicki’s latest hits “Do We Have a Problem?”

Initially, Cardi, born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, seemed unbothered by the incident as she sipped on her Corona and danced to the music. However, her posse noticed the shade and began shaking their heads at the DJ’s unprofessionalism.

Nonetheless, it didn’t take long for the 29-year-old rapper to put the guy on blast. She managed to get the microphone and make the emcee stop his music. “Who’s in the building tonight?” she asked the crowd.

“We with all the f*cking smoke you heard,” said the artist in her New York accent. She then centered on the host, asking, “We getting dangerous tonight? DJ are we getting f*cking dangerous tonight? F*ck outta here.”

Following her response, Cardi tossed the mic into the crowd as the DJ began to play “WAP.”
