Social media users are claiming that Keith Murray has a drug problem. Murray has mentioned in the past how he dabbled with a variety of drugs. He made news this year when he alleged that he had sexual relations with rappers Foxy brown and Shawnna. Now video has appeared online of the Def Squad rapper appearing to be inebriated outside during the day time. Rapper Lord Jamar who previously had a back and forth with Murray posted the video to his Instagram.

Lord Jamar wrote:

Our brother @keithmurrayrap obviously needs serious help….I don’t have to see this man do drugs in front of me to know he’s on drugs. Dude crossed a line with me, that I believe if he wasn’t on drugs he wouldn’t have crossed, so I forgive him. We need to get our brother clean, cause this is a horrible look.

U.S. Return Of World’s Largest Breakdance Competition Comes This Summer

Red Bull BC One, the world’s largest global breaking competition, is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated 2023 U.S. Season. From May to August, the premier 1 vs. 1 competition will see the best breakers across the country vie for the chance to represent the U.S. in the Red Bull BC One World Final in Paris, France in October 2023. 

The 2023 season will feature regional qualifiers, known as “Regional Cyphers,” held in three iconic American cities: Orlando (June 17), Minneapolis (July 29), and New York City (August 12).  The competitor line-up for each regional stop will be a combination of invited contestants (wildcards) and winners of city competitions, which are open to all breakers and take place in Columbus, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Seattle, Honolulu, Denver, and Boston. The journey culminates at the Red Bull BC One National Final, taking place in Philadelphia. 

At each Regional Cypher, sixteen “B-Boys” and eight “B-Girls” will battle their way through a cutthroat 1v1 knockout bracket, as a panel of esteemed breakers determines the regional champions who advance to the Red Bull BC One National Final in Philadelphia.

The season celebrates breaking’s soaring popularity worldwide and its remarkable growth since its emergence from the roots of hip-hop culture. It is a tribute to the local communities and visionary breakers who, through their seamless fusion of artistry and athleticism, have propelled the urban sport into a new era of mainstream recognition. Since 2004, Red Bull has connected and nurtured break communities around the world, resulting in Red Bull BC One developing into a highly respected breaking mainstay.

There, sixteen of the nation’s best B-Boys and B-Girls, both regional champions and wildcards, will battle for a coveted spot at the historic 20th Red Bull BC One World Final, set to be held in Paris on October 21st.

Following the successfully sold-out run of the Dolphland Pop-Up Museum Tour at stops across the country, Paper Route Empire and Street Execs Management is concluding the exhibition this month with a month-long celebration of Young Dolph and his posthumous album Paper Route Frank in the rap legend’s hometown of Memphis, TN.

Dolphland will take place every weekend, Friday – Sunday in May (May 12th – 28th) at the Agricenter International in Memphis, TN. 

On Sunday, May 28th the grand finale of Dolphland will take place with an expansion of the exhibition to include the “Love For The Streets Celebrity Car Show” featuring Young Dolph’s entire fleet of exotic luxury cars curated in partnership with celebrity DJ, car enthusiast and host of nationally syndicated radio & TV show The Breakfast Club’s DJ ENVY and his “Drive Your Dreams” car show series. The Apollo’s Spring Benefit, the largest annual fundraising event, will return on Monday, June 12 at 7pm ET.

This year, President and CEO Jonelle Procope will be honored as her twenty-year tenure comes to a close, entertainment mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs will be presented with this year’s Icon Award and also present six-time NBA MVP Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with the Impact Award. Industry leader Warby Parker will also be honored with the Corporate Award.

The Apollo Theater will also celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of hip-hop with appearances by MC Lyte and Wyclef Jean, with music by DJ D-Nice.

Hip Hop is celebrating its 50th anniversary and our pioneers who paved the way for the beautiful art that we call Hip Hop are still flourishing and paying homage to their peers. It is also April, the month where one of our late and great legends Biz Markie was born. 

Rapper Treach of Naughty By Nature paid a visit to one of Brooklyn’s most sought after celebrity tattooist and Black Ink cast member—Spyder at Black Ink Tattoo Studio in Brooklyn. Treach commissioned Spyder to ink a mini portrait in honor of his rap brethren Biz Markie on his chest.

The tattoo idea came in preparation for filming Spyders new Podcast “Ink + Out”, which captures Spyder tattooing his guests while interviewing them about their experiences. In this episode, Treach shares stories about his come up in the industry, his relationship with Tupac, Biz and more. See video above for clip.

Spyder isn’t just a dope tattooist, he also has a background in audio engineering who has worked with French Montana, Nikki Minaj, Ying Yang Twins, Stack Bundles, Math Hoffa, Murda Mook and more.
