Memphis Bleek Responds to Dame Dash’s Ghostwriter Claims: ‘He Wilding RIght Now’

Memphis Bleek isn’t letting Dame Dash’s comments about JAY-Z ghostwriting for him slide. Bleek responded to a fan who inquired about the interview on X, writing, “He wilding right now bro.”

Dame Dash is on a roll regarding these unfiltered, controversial and flat out polarizing interviews. The former co-CEO is now (and again) reigniting old Roc-A-Fella label drama, claiming that Jay-Z was the secret behind Memphis Bleek’s success, allegedly ghostwriting his lyrics during the early years of the label’s reign.

Here we go …

In a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue–and gotta admit they have the tea–Dash opened up about Bleek’s struggles to find his footing in the industry, despite being positioned as Jay-Z’s protégé and potential heir to the Roc-A-Fella throne.

If ya’ll forgot, Memphis Bleek, who first gained recognition as a featured artist on Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt in 1996, was one of Roc-A-Fella’s earliest signings. As a rapper from Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects, Bleek was often touted as Jay-Z’s right-hand man, appearing alongside Hov on multiple tracks.

Despite this, Dash suggests that Bleek’s career never quite took off because he lacked the drive to push himself forward, relying heavily on Jay-Z for lyrics and direction.

Back to the tea. According to Dash, Bleek was more of a follower than a self-starter. “He didn’t put in the work,” Dash said. “Jay had to write his lyrics for him. I was pushing for him, but he was too lazy or incapable of doing the work himself.” Dame also pointed out that Bleek was frequently labeled as Jay’s successor, but never fully capitalized on that potential. He was often seen as the one who would carry the Roc-A-Fella legacy after Jay-Z, but Dash claims that Bleek’s reliance on Jay’s ghostwriting and lack of work ethic prevented him from truly stepping into the spotlight.

Dash recalled back then, he attempted to help Bleek by getting him placements, such as on DJ Clue’s albums, which were akin to modern-day Spotify playlists for artists looking to gain recognition.

Those were the days.

However, Bleek’s inability to push his career forward ultimately led to him being excluded from key projects, like Jay-Z’s Vol. 1: In My Lifetime, due to his lack of effort.

“Bleek was supposed to be in the mix, but he was too comfortable waiting for Jay to give him a verse, a song, or a direction,” Dash continued. “He had the opportunity to do his own thing, just like Cam’ron did with The Diplomats or Beanie Sigel with State Property, but he couldn’t make it happen.”

What’s more, Dame also reflected on Bleek’s lack of success compared to other Roc-A-Fella artists, citing the failure of Bleek’s Get Low imprint, which could have followed in the footsteps of the more successful Roc-A-Fella sublabels. While Cam’ron and Beanie Sigel built their own legacies within the Roc family, Bleek’s potential remained untapped, despite Dame’s best efforts to promote him.

Just when you thought Dame was just harping on Bleek’s underachievement by his account, that wasn’t an isolated case at Roc-A-Fella. According to Dash, he also pointed to Amil, the label’s first lady, who similarly had every opportunity to succeed but couldn’t make it happen.

“Amil had all the tools to succeed, but she didn’t take full advantage of them,” Dash said. “It’s the same pattern – people were given everything, but they didn’t know how to take it to the next level.”

Not sure how ya’ll feel about this but here’s what’s undeniable. Roc-A-Fella’s influence in the early 2000s was epic. They literally held down rap for years. But Dash’s comments shine a light on the internal struggles that plagued the label, with artists like Bleek and Amil failing to rise to their potential. Despite this, Jay-Z’s ability to remain at the top of the rap game, even as his Roc-A-Fella empire crumbled, solidified his place as one of hip-hop’s greatest figures.

Mariah Carey and Anderson .Paak Appear to Make Debut as a Couple in Aspen

All Mariah Carey wants for Christmas is….. Anderson .Paak? The two artists fueled speculation about their status as a couple as they were spotted holding hands over the weekend in Aspen.

Photos on Twitter show the two engaging in some light PDA at at Duemani, a Mediterranean restaurant in Aspen, Colorado. An undisclosed source told The Daily Mail that Anderson “has a reputation as a ladies’ man in Hollywood” and that he “has been ‘pursuing’ several women since filing to end his marriage to wife Jae Lin in January.” The source also said that he is not opposed to dating women “10 to 20 years older than him.” (Anderson is 38 and Mariah is 55.)

[SEE IT] Ja Rule Calls 50 Cent a “Liar” Amid Renewed Claims of Concert Ticket Buyout

The long-standing rivalry between Ja Rule and 50 Cent, rooted in their Queens, New York, upbringing and the early 2000s rap scene, has once again flared up.

Or maybe it’s much to do about nothing. You be the judge …

The feud, which has been a source of entertainment and controversy for years, intensified when 50 Cent recently claimed to have bought out the first four rows of a Ja Rule concert to humiliate him.

True or not, it was kind of funny when you think about the absurdity of it all.

“I looked at it and said, ‘I just want you to feel like you gotta reach the people, four or five rows back,’” 50 Cent explained. Ja Rule, however, vehemently denied these claims, calling 50 Cent a “fat fking liar” on Twitter. He challenged 50 Cent to provide proof of the incident, offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who could do so.

The two rappers’ rivalry dates back to their early days in the New York rap scene.

ICYMI, their longstanding feud escalated in the early 2000s, fueled by diss tracks, public insults, and physical confrontations. The beef has been a constant source of entertainment for fans, with both artists often using social media to taunt each other.

Despite the passage of time, it seems that the animosity between Ja Rule and 50 Cent remains as strong as ever.

[WATCH] “Pleasure P Claims He’s Owed $28M for Co-Writing Lil Wayne’s ‘Lollipop’: ‘I Just Want What I Deserve’”

Here we go with yet another fight brewing in the world of high profile songwriting. Pleasure P is speaking out about his involvement in the massive 2008 hit “Lollipop” by Lil Wayne, claiming he’s owed $28 million for co-writing the track, which became one of Weezy’s biggest songs.

“Lollipop,” a standout from Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III, dominated the charts, spending nearly five non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Featuring vocals written by the late Static Major (Stephen Garrett), the song is widely regarded as one of Lil Wayne’s defining tracks. However, according to Pleasure P, who says he co-wrote the song alongside Static Major, he hasn’t been properly credited or compensated for his contribution.

Get this, it all went down in an emotional Instagram video, Pleasure P expressed his frustration, with “Lollipop” playing in the background. “Wayne and Mack Maine, I need my f*king plaque for this song, bro,” he said. “Jim Johnson, y’all can do something about this sht.” He continued, “Nobody cares about me anymore. Rex got my publishing, and he got his name on this record, bro. And I can’t get my just due?”

On the post, Pleasure P revealed that he wrote “Lollipop” with Static Major before his debut album was released. “Before my first album came out, I wrote this song with Static,” he said. “I ain’t kill nobody, I ain’t crash out. I just hope the right people will hear this sht. Understand, man, I don’t want no violence. My son just got outta jail, like I ain’t got time for that sht no more. I’m 40 now; just give me what I deserve, bro. I don’t got time no more.” He also reflected on Lil Wayne’s efforts to squash past beefs within the Hot Boyz, but emphasized his role in the song’s success: “But I’m a part of his biggest record. [It] did 1.3 million the first week, and I haven’t been able to celebrate that. I just want my money. It’s 28 million I ain’t get.”

“Lollipop” became an iconic track, marking Lil Wayne’s ascent to mainstream stardom. Released after Static Major’s tragic passing in 2008 at the age of 33 due to medical complications, the song was dedicated to his memory. Static’s vocals on the track were posthumously honored, but like Pleasure P, he too did not benefit from the song’s monumental success.

As Pleasure P fights for what he believes he’s owed, fans and industry insiders are paying closer attention to the ongoing conversation about credit and compensation in the music industry. For now, the 28 million dollars remains a claim that Pleasure P hopes to see fulfilled.

What do ya’ll think? Does Pleasure P have a point? Hear him speak his truth below and let us know.

[WATCH] Dame Dash Claims Jay-Z Ghostwrote Memphis Bleek’s Bars

Diddy Reportedly Has ‘Meltdown’ in Jail After Christmas Amid Failed Bail Attempts

Whelp, Diddy is reportedly struggling with his ongoing time in federal lockup, experiencing a “meltdown” at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in New York after Christmas. Can you blame him? Dude is in what is considered a hell hole. Like Epstein had a whole “suicide” in there. But anyways, the frustration reportedly stems from his inability to secure bail months after his September arrest on sex crime charges.

Now get this, according to sources close to the situation, the disgraced mogul’s emotional breakdown occurred on December 26 when he found himself still behind bars despite assembling a “high-powered legal team” to secure his release.

“He expected to be out on bail by now,” a source told Daily Mail, but after multiple failed attempts to be granted release, the situation reportedly became overwhelming for the rapper.

If you haven’t been keeping score, Diddy’s legal team made three unsuccessful attempts to get him released on bail, with each request being denied by the judge.

What’s more, the primary reasons for the denials included concerns that Diddy could be a flight risk and that his release could allow him to potentially influence or intimidate witnesses. After the third denial, the rapper appealed the decision but voluntarily withdrew the appeal, effectively ensuring that he will remain incarcerated until his trial in May 2025.

Back to the reported “meltdown.” Apparently reports suggest it went down on Christmas followed the disappointment of spending the holiday season in jail. According to sources, Diddy was deeply upset by the reality of his situation. His request for a hospital visit was denied, and the source added, “He eventually managed to calm himself down with the meditation technique he’s been using while he’s been behind bars.” However, it took several hours of focused breathing and mental recovery for the rapper to regain his composure.

As you can imagine, on top of the emotional toll, sources also reported that Diddy had a “bleak” Christmas in jail, receiving only a basic meal from the MDC commissary. “It’s plastic and almost like a big pillow and over the years it has shrunk,” prison expert Larry Levine said, describing the meager holiday package. “It’s a bunch of crap that probably was purchased because it was out of date.”

Diddy’s appearance during his latest court hearing sparked further rumors of his distress. He appeared “astonishingly thinner,” leading to speculation that he might be skipping meals. Levine offered a theory, suggesting that the rap mogul’s weight loss could be linked to fears for his safety. “He does get a lot of people in trouble. People want to kill him,” Levine said. “What if somebody put something in his food? That’s another reason why he might not be eating.”

Despite the ongoing legal battles and emotional turmoil, Diddy is likely to remain behind bars until his trial next year. His failed bail attempts, combined with the challenges of navigating life behind bars, have certainly taken a toll on the rapper, who now faces an uncertain road ahead.

That part.

Dame Dash Calls Out John Legend for Snubbing Roc-A-Fella: “He Did Some Sneaky Sh*t”

A little late in the year for all this negative energy but here we go. Seems like Dame Dash is still holding a grudge–among many–against John Legend for choosing not to sign with Roc-A-Fella Records back in the day, despite the rapper and entrepreneur’s belief that Legend was destined for the label.

Speaking candidly on The Art of Dialogue, Dame revealed a long-standing frustration about the Grammy-winning singer’s early career decisions.

“John Legend was supposed to be Roc-A-Fella,” Dash declared. “I took him on tour. I wouldn’t have spent money to take John around the world with Kanye [West], letting him sing before Kanye performed, unless I believed he was signing with Roc-A-Fella. But he did some sneaky shit and went to Sony instead.”

Sneaky ish … Ha. Dame is definitely one to never, ever mince words.

Now of course despite not joining Roc-A-Fella, John Legend went on to forge a successful career with Kanye West, becoming the first artist signed to West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint. Legend’s 2004 debut album Get Lifted was released through a joint venture with Sony, a partnership that led to five more albums together.

But way back when, their professional relationship soured during Kanye’s controversial 2020 presidential campaign, particularly over political differences, which created a rift between the two artists.

ICYMI, because we did, in a 2022 interview with The New Yorker, Legend clarified the reason behind the fallout, explaining that the real issue wasn’t Kanye’s support of Donald Trump, but rather Legend’s refusal to back Kanye’s presidential bid. “He was very upset I didn’t support him running for president,” Legend explained. “That’s what caused the strain in our friendship. I don’t know what the future holds, but it’s up to him whether he moves past it.”

Get this, even Kanye himself reflected on their broken relationship during a 2021 appearance on Drink Champs, accusing both Legend and Big Sean of betraying him during his campaign. “When I ran for office, John Legend and Big Sean got used by the Democrats to come at their boy—the one who actually changed their lives. That’s some sell-out shit. I don’t rock with either of them anymore,” Kanye said, further deepening the rift.

Back to Dame Dash. His comments, though, bring attention to another layer of industry politics, as he believes Legend should have joined forces with Roc-A-Fella rather than making a deal with Sony. His comments also highlight the fractured relationships that have become a theme in Kanye West’s career—one that has seen alliances shift as personal and political differences came to the forefront.

For Dame Dash, his longstanding discontent with Legend is part of a broader narrative of shifting allegiances in the hip-hop world. With their once-close ties now fractured, this latest reveal only adds to the complicated history between some of the biggest names in music.

What ya’ll think? Is Dame just being Dame or does he have a point? Eh, we’ll let ya’ll be the judge.

[SEE IT] Young Thug Posts Mariah The Scientist’s Reaction to Leaked Jail Call: “She’s So Mad”

C’mon Thug. That’s what some fans are thinking after a leaked 2022 jail call between Young Thug and Instagram model Leena Sayed has ignited a firestorm online, especially given the rapper’s relationship with Mariah The Scientist at the time.

In the now notorious call, Thug, speaking to a visibly upset Sayed, advises her to “move on” and find someone new to love. He also casually mentions speaking to up to 10 women weekly “just to pass the time.” In a separate call, he confessed to a friend that he didn’t want to hurt Mariah because he felt she “loves him too much.”

As expected the leaked calls quickly went viral, causing an uproar that has drawn reactions from both Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist. On Christmas Day (Dec. 25), Thug took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his girlfriend’s response to the drama. “She so mad, I said merry Christmas and she said thank u [skull emoji],” he posted, giving fans a glimpse into Mariah’s blunt reaction.

While Mariah has yet to directly address the calls, Young Thug issued an apology for the public fallout.

It is the holidays, maybe she’s just focusing on family.

On Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), he tweeted, “Sorry to my baby for all this bullsht on the internet. Love u baby and f*ck em all we know what’s up with us!”

The YSL honcho also clarified his connection to Sayed, denying any romantic involvement and calling the conversation in the leaked footage a misunderstanding. “Man me and twin was talking bout some whole other serious sht,” Thug explained in a series of candid posts. He denied any romantic intent, saying, “I don’t know why she spoke on loving other people or anything else cause ain’t giving no fck bout no hes or ni*as.” He also reinforced his bond with Sayed, calling her “the twin” and emphasized, “I got who I want.”

Thug’s comments were followed up by Leena Sayed addressing the situation on her Instagram Story. She clarified that the jail call took place before she met her child’s father, boxer Devin Haney. “That video was before I met my bd,” Sayed wrote, adding, “I would never talk to Thug or any other man.”

However, in the leaked conversation, Sayed can be heard telling Thug, “I only want you, I don’t like anyone else.”

As for Thug and Mariah’s relationship, it remains unclear where they stand. Despite the controversy, the couple was reportedly spotted together on Christmas Day, enjoying a winter getaway in ski gear. Though the situation remains complicated, it seems that for now, they are moving forward together—publicly and privately.
