The 2023 WNBA Finals are currently underway and it has been a pretty lopsided series so far. The Las Vegas Aces have been dominant all season long (34-6). However, they are proving it in the biggest games and moments Coming into this matchup with the New York Liberty, the Aces never lost a postseason game. They waltzed through the first round versus the Chicago Sky and handled the Dallas Wings. It appeared they were on the brink of eclipsing a title a few days ago. But, not if rap legend Lil Kim had something to say about it.

Las Vegas went up 2-0 in the best-of-five series after throttling the visiting Liberty 104-76. However, with the ladies’ backs against the wall in a win-or-go-home scenario they got it done. New York did so comfortably, extending the series at least one more game, 87-73. On top of keeping their title hopes alive, the Liberty secured their first Finals victory since 1999. Jonquel Jones and Breanna Stewart led the way with 27 and 20 points respectively. What might have given the women a spark in a tight contest at half was New York’s own Lil Kim turning up the crowd.

Lil Kim Tears It Up At Halftime

Lil Kim was met at center court with some backup dancers dressed in all white and the Liberty mascot. Yes, Ellie the Elephant tore it up alongside the MC giving a jolt of energy to the fans. Usher On Being Selected For Super Bowl Halftime Show: “Honor Of A Lifetime”

Usher says that it’s the “honor of a lifetime” to be able to perform at the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show. The NFL announced him as the headliner for the event on Sunday afternoon. The game is set to kick off on February 11, 2024, at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium. Usher still has a residency at Park MGM in the city.

“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” he said in a statement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”

In addition to headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Usher also plans to release a new album titled Coming Home on the same day. He discussed his plans during a new interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “I’m coming home, I’m back with my team,” he said while noting that he’s working with Antonio “L.A.” Reid. “Even when you see the artwork, you will understand it. When you see the peach. You get it. You understand where I’m from and what we’re doing.” The new effort will mark Usher’s first new album since 2016’s Hard II Love, which reached as high as No. 5 on the Billboard 200. Usher’s 2023 single, “Good Good,” featuring Summer Walker and 21 Savage will appear on the tracklist.

The NFL has reportedly dropped Lizzo from consideration for performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The decision comes amid her ongoing lawsuit regarding sexual, racial, and religious harassment, and more. The report comes from the Daily Mail, which cites a league insider.

“Talks of Lizzo being a part of the Halftime festivities, or performing the National Anthem, are dead now that she is surrounded by scandal,” the source shared. Three of her former dancers, Crystal Williams, Noelle Rodriguez, and Arianna Davis, filed the suit, earlier this month. They cited numerous instances of inappropriate behavior by Lizzo, including a time she pressured them into touching a nude performer in the Red Light District in Amsterdam.

Lizzo denied the allegations in a lengthy statement shared on social media a few days later. “These last few days have been gut-wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing,” the Grammy-winning performer wrote. “My work ethic, morals, and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized. Usually I chose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed.”

She continued: “The sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.” Lizzo further wrote that she doesn’t want to be “looked at as a victim, but also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days. I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself but I can not accept or allow people to use that openness to make me out to be something I am not.” Super Bowl LVIII is scheduled for February 11, 2024. The NFL has yet to make a decision on the Halftime Show performer.

Jay-Z & Rihanna just sent residents of Arcadia Senior Living flowers after their TikTok rendition of her Super Bowl halftime show went viral. In fact, the video has over 30 million views, what do you mean you haven’t seen it on your page? Regardless, the video shows a group of senior citizens dressed in red and white, mimicking RiRi’s aesthetic for her show. Overall, media from everywhere picked up the news, from The Today Show to UK outlets. What’s more is that Hov, who helped organize the show, sent them a special gift for their wholesome video.

“There’s 100 of them,” Arcadia Senior Living resident Sue Evans remarked on NBC News 40. “And they’re from Jay-Z. My granddaughter was worried and she told her mother- ‘I hope she knows who Jay-Z is!’” On the other hand, many interviewed residents spoke on how the viral moment’s affected their day-to-day. “My grandchildren and I watched and there were flips and flops and I was standing there thinking wow I wish I could do that. And then i did do that,” said resident Dora Martin.

Rihanna ascended from the Super Bowl LVII stage on an illuminated floating platform. She wore a monochromatic red look that had us all in awe. She began to perform twelve of her most iconic songs including “Umbrella” and “Run This Town.” The music and overall performance were one for the books and we cannot help but give another 10 out of 10 rating to the look she wore on Sunday night.

As many of us already know, Rihanna is not a stranger to pulling off stylish and iconic looks. In November 2021, we saw Rihanna out and about in New York wearing flared jeans and a plain black top. She paired the look with a Kermit green waistcoat by Marina Moscone and contrasting neon green Savage x Fenty gloves. In 2019, the singer won an award at the CFDA fashion awards in a refreshing minty Fenty getup.

Even though the Super Bowl was only two days ago, Rihanna’s outfit is already making strides everywhere on social media. It ran right at the top of her best looks. There are many layers that completed the outfit. The base included a vibrant red silk jersey catsuit paired with a Loewe flight suit overtop in the same crimson hue. To cinch in the bust area while shaping the noticeable baby bump, a short sculpted leather Loewe corset was also paired. The streetwear aesthetic to which Rihanna is accustomed the look was complete with red MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon sneakers. Rihanna and her styling team did not stop there. Closing out the performance, the singer added a dramatically brilliant red custom Alaïa coat with matching gloves.

The garment was a tribute to the late André Leon Talley, a pivotal fashion journalist who wore a similar Norma Kamali coat. Rihanna and André were close friends, so the coat was a nod to their relationship. Where accessories are concerned, the singer did not disappoint. Rihanna wore a handful of statement diamond brooches from Joseph Saidian & Sons pinned to the flight suit. She also wore Messika Jewelry diamond earrings. If you watched the performance, you probably noticed the self-promo moment Rihanna took. She touched up her beauty look with none other than her own Fenty beauty line. Her claws were also dripped in bold red to bring it all home. While many might not have been completely satisfied with her entire performance, I think it can be agreed that her look for the night gave us everything we needed and more.

Using platforms that hung high above the ground, RiRi and her entourage of dancers performed her greatest hits over the last two decades. The Barbadian singer and her dancers made a dramatic entrance to “Bitch Better Have My Money,” and continued to put on a remarkable show. One of Rihanna’s backup dancers was performing the choreography to “All Of The Lights” in the air. Dancing on one of the floating stages, this performer found themselves in a slippery situation. They had tripped during the number, resulting in almost falling catastrophically off of the platform. The performer quickly recuperated from the accident and the show went on. However, fans quickly recognized this scary instance, and a video of the slip-up circulated on social media.

A Scary Fall For Riri’s Backup Dancer

Luckily, the backup dancers were strapped to cables while on the platform. Rihanna was also safeguarded to prevent any accidents, which is especially good news given that she was carrying her second baby with rapper A$AP Rocky. Overall, the 13-minute performance was a major win for RiRi, who hasn’t had a concert since 2018.

Needless to say, Rihanna’s halftime performance gave the internet a lot to talk about. Between the incredible line-up of songs, the pregnancy reveal, and Rihanna’s stunning all-red fit, the show was a hit. RiRi even stirred up controversy with her iconic crotch grab. But, the biggest discussion about the show was the all-white outfits of the backup dancers. Dressed in Fenty puffers and baggy pants, each dancer was fitted with sunglasses and hoods. The internet has sparked up many jokes about the ambiguous and puffy fits, and the results are hilarious. Patrick Mahomes was fantastic in the Super Bowl just two days ago. Overall, the Kansas City Chiefs ended up winning the game after coming back from a 10-point halftime deficit. It was not an easy win, although it was definitely deserved. Mahomes threw for three touchdowns throughout the game. While he may have only thrown for 182 yards, he was incredibly efficient, and fans were singing his praises. At this point, it is hard not to consider him one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL.

Following the game, Mahomes got to go to Disneyland with his entire family. At the end of the day, it was a huge celebration for everything he has accomplished this year. No one expected the Chiefs to win it all this year, however, they defied the odds and made it happen. Now, Mahomes will get to enjoy the offseason as the Chiefs attempt to improve their roster for a run next year. If you are a fan of the franchise, you can’t help but be immensely excited about the future.

While speaking with Jimmy Kimmel on Monday night, Mahomes made some interesting revelations about the Super Bowl. For instance, he and his teammates were not allowed to watch the halftime performance by Rihanna. As Mahomes explained, the ban came from his own head coach, Andy Reid. “Coach Reid told us, he said, ‘If you go out to watch the performance, just keep walking because you’re not playing the rest of the game,’” Mahomes explained. Needless to say, Reid wanted to keep everyone focused as the team had a comeback effort to construct. In the end, his tactics worked as the team went out and won it all.

As for the halftime show, we’re sure Mahomes and everyone else on the Chiefs will go and watch it on YouTube at some point. After all, you can pretty well find everything over there. She has either expressed offense or disapproval from previous shows, mostly from women performers, but this time, Owens had a change of heart.

Everyone is chatting about Rihanna’s huge pregnancy reveal, but Owens focuses on the overall fashion choices. “I don’t want to jinx it but—- Rihanna is the first female Super Bowl performer in recent memory that has managed to keep her clothes on,” said the Daily Wire star. “Nudity doesn’t shock me anymore. Self-respect does.”
