DMX’s Daughter Launches GoFundMe To Finance Docuseries On Drug Abuse

We’re fast approaching the two-year anniversary of DMX’s passing. The beloved Hip Hop icon left us back in 2021 following an accidental overdose that caused a heart attack. A GoFundMe campaign shows that his daughter, Sonovah Hillman Jr., is working on a documentary about drug abuse. The 10-year-old shared that she has “lost multiple family members to fentanyl and drug addiction,” so she wanted to lend her young voice to this important, global conversation.

“I felt like I had to do something to help this crisis,” said Sonovah. It would be a series that shifted discussions as they speak with children who have been affected. “I came up with the idea to do a four-part docuseries on fentanyl and drug addiction. I want to show the world the point of view from a child’s perspective.” She added that she knows others are having similar experiences, and she wants to help tell their stories.

“I want to reach out and ask for assistance with some of the production costs to get started,” she further said. “These funds will be used for pre and post-production. All donations are greatly appreciated and will help me get closer to my goal of educating, spreading awareness and saving lives.” In total, she and her team are requesting $250K.

Sonovah has received widespread support, especially among those who empathize with her experiences. Others, mostly adults, who have also lost parents or loved ones to drug abuse not only financially donated, but they offered kind words of support for her efforts. Hip Hop has unfortunately suffered several loses since DMX’s passing. Many young artists have recognized the epidemic and shared their recovery on social media.

Meanwhile, DMX was always open about his journey. His authenticity about his struggles is still discussed today as people weigh in about drug culture in Hip Hop. The Rap icon often spoke about his traumas and even endured public therapy on reality television to help others. Sonovah is picking up the torch and making sure her father’s legacy continues to be an inspiration.

Beyoncé Fans Use GoFundMe To Get “Renaissance” Tour Tickets

Witnessing millions of fans online try to get Beyoncé tickets has been as entertaining as the album, at least if you’re not one of the many hopeful concert-goers suffering through presale and website issues. Moreover, Beyoncé fans took to GoFundMe to ask for money to purchase tickets for the Renaissance World Tour. While their pleas range from heartfelt to funny to frustrated, the tour’s insane demand means that they’ll be tough to catch. Even with all the money in the world, it won’t help insane queue times and shows selling out lighting fast.

Furthermore, one fan wrote, “This is the only life experience I care about living before I die. I will get those front row tickets either way but this way is safer than selling my kidney on the black market.” In fact, some screenshots obtained by TMZ indicate that some people are already close to their goals. Moreover, that last commenter already garnered $225 out of his $300 goal, at least based on their screenshot. What’s more is that it makes you wonder what else people can get away with on there. Still, many of these hopefuls are Beyhive live vets. “Listen…I would love your financial support in sending me to Beyoncé World Tour 2023,” another expressed. “I haven’t missed a Beyoncé concert yet, but I got ‘bills, bills, bills.’”

Meanwhile, other fans unfortunately haven’t raised much money for their selfish but understandable cause. This comes off the heels of UK tickets going on sale just recently. As expected, the demand far outweighs the supply available, something that Live Nation maintained in a statement. According to them, demand exceeds available tickets by over 800%, and they acknowledged the many fans who won’t get to see her.

Still what do you think of the GoFundMe campaigns to raise money for Beyoncé tour tickets? Moreover, are you one of the fans who took a chance on the platform or do you already have your tickets? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, stay up to date on HNHH for the latest on Beyoncé and the ubiquitous Renaissance World Tour.

GoFundMe Takes Down Fake Damar Hamlin Fundraisers

GoFundMe is taking down numerous fake fundraisers for Damar Hamlin. The Buffalo Bills safety suffered cardiac arrest during the team’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals after collapsing on the field.

According to TMZ, the company is taking down all fraudulent GoFundMe campaigns for Hamlin as they go live.

They also confirmed that there is only one genuine fundraiser organized by the family. That campaign has raised over $6.5 million as of Wednesday afternoon.

“This fundraiser was initially established to support a toy drive for Damar’s community, sponsored by the Chasing M’s Foundation. However, it has received renewed support in light of Damar’s current battle and we can’t thank all of you enough. Your generosity and compassion mean the world to us,” a message on the campaign page reads.

It continues: “If you would like to show your support and contribute to Damar’s community initiatives and his current fight, this is the place to do so. This is the only current fund that is being used by the Hamlin Family.”

Damar Hamlin remains at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. On Wednesday, the Bills confirmed that he will remain under intensive care. They also announced that he has shown “signs of improvement” since Monday night.

The NFL has also announced that the game between the Bills and Bengals will not resume this week. Play was stopped after Hamlin’s injury, which occurred midway through the first quarter. The league remains undecided as to whether to the game at a later date.
