Logic Shares Video Of Himself On Stage With Seth MacFarlane

Logic always has surprises for his fans on Instagram. Earlier today the “Homicide” rapper had another treat for fans. He appeared on stage with Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane and the pair bounced some jokes off of each other. In the comments, he teased fans that the two could one day collaborate even further. “Might have to feature Peter on Self Medication II,” the rapper joked.

Musically Logic is turning over a new leaf. Just a few days ago he finalized a sale for the entirety of his discography up to this point. Influence Media Partners bought all 185 of Logic’s official tracks up to this point. It’s not that surprising of a move from Logic who has nearly retired from music altogether on multiple occasions. Logic recently began a partnership with therapy company Better Help. The partnership seeks to help get fans of Logic into therapy as part of the company’s ambition to get more people the opportunity to speak with therapists.

Logic’s Surprise Guest

Logic dropped his new album College Park back in February of this year. The album has a long tracklist absolutely packed with features. RZA, Redman, Joey Bada$$, Norah Jones, Bun B, and many more all make appearances on the album. He just wrapped up a 23-stop tour with Juicy J taking the album’s songs to various cities across America. Fans got the chance to see Logic play live after he once claimed that he would retire from touring entirely.

Earlier this year Logic gave fans a tour of his mansion. In his always humorous style, he turned the video into a parody of MTV Cribs and acted as a tour guide to his fans. Back in April Logic teamed up with Trippie Redd and Just Juice for a banger new single. “Sweeter Scars” saw the trio teaming up for the first time and the results were just as sweet as you’d expect. The rapper has consistently dropped new music throughout the year including a new single just last week. What do you think of Logic and Seth MacFarlane’s new video together? “Family Guy” Joke About Nipsey Hussle Resurfaces: Twitter Reacts

Before the era of cancel culture emerged, Family Guy stood as one of the few shows that pushed the boundaries as far as possible. Evidently, the showrunners aren’t afraid to touch on any subject matter. Unfortunately, the late Nipsey Hussle became a target in a 2021 episode, which resurfaced earlier today.

Just a few years following Nip’s death, Family Guy threw shade at the rapper in a 2021 episode. “Young Parent Trap” from season 19 aired in April 2021. During the episode, Chris discusses plans to attend a festival with his parents. He then provides Lois and Peter with more information regarding the concert, including hologram performances from two late West Coast legends.

“They’re gonna have holograms of 2Pac and also Nipsey Hussle, who I’d never heard of and then was told to care immensely about,” Chris says.

The comments led to a flurry of responses. Some people felt as though Family Guy tried to slander Nipsey Hussle. However, many looked at it as a jab toward those who only began showing love to Nip after his passing. Those who defended the joke suggested that Family Guy’s had worse jokes in the past compared to the slight towards Nipsey Hussle.

One person agreed with the TV show’s assessment of Nipsey Hussle.

“I didn’t know who the hell Nipsey Hussle was till he got shot and was all over my damn timeline,” one fan wrote. “So I definitely get the joke and I don’t see how it’s out of pocket. Have y’all seen Family Guy??”

Overall, it seems like people feel as thought the backlash isn’t warranted. Still, a lot of fans weren’t happy over the disrespect towards Nipsey’s legacy.

A Nipsey Hussle Joke From ‘Family Guy’ Resurfaced On Twitter And Fans Are Calling Foul

A joke about Nipsey Hussle from an old episode of Family Guy has resurfaced online and fans are calling the show out for its perceived disrespect.

In the episode “Young Parent Trap,” which originally aired in April 2021, the Griffin family teens Chris and Meg invite their parents Lois and Peter to a music festival (both duos are in disguise; it’s a whole thing). The festival is parody of disastrous real-life festivals like Woodstock 99 and Fyre Festival, but its name (“Quachella”) and the mentioned acts are references to Coachella.

Chris tells his parents that the festival is going to have “holograms of Tupac and also Nipsey Hussle, who I’d never heard of and then was told to care immensely about.” The joke is a play on the Tupac hologram from Dr. Dre’s headlining set at Coachella in 2012, but also makes reference to Nipsey Hussle’s longstanding underground legend status.

While it’s true that Hussle was not very visible on the Billboard charts before his “debut” album Victory Lap dropped in 2018, he was very much a fixture of the hip-hop culture, recognized and respected by peers like Jay-Z and Rick Ross for the decade prior. He pioneered a DIY model for independent rappers with his innovative $100 mixtape, Crenshaw, and was well-known in Los Angeles for his philanthropy and community involvement.

Online, some folks felt that this joke denigrated this legacy. To be fair, when Nipsey was shot and killed in March 2019, many observers and pundits on news shows seemed baffled that his funeral warranted a capacity crowd (including Barack Obama) at Staples Center or a miles-long procession down Crenshaw, the boulevard he constantly shouted out in his songs.

But those people were, by and large, outsiders to the culture, exactly the sort of people who would be equally miffed to be in the presence of a Black person at all (think Fox News-y types). And as much as Family Guy loves to pepper in references to pop culture, its creators and writer’s room have been criticized at times for being a little… unseasoned.

“White people show making fun of a really tragic event like that feels kinda wrong,” one fan succinctly noted. Another pointed out that, while it may have been accurate, the joke could have “stayed in the drafts.” Others chimed in with a variety of opinions, which you can check out below.
