42 Dugg Sentenced To One Year In Prison

42 Dugg found himself in some severe legal trouble back in 2019 after he fired a weapon while on probation. Although this happened at a gun range, he was not supposed to do that as he was a convicted felon. Overall, the punishment for this can be quite heft. Eventually, he was able to negotiate zero jail time for himself, and would only get probation. However, this did not last long as a judge almost immediately revoked his probation. Subsequently, he got with a six-month prison sentence that would have to be served in West Virginia.

Last April, 42 Dugg was supposed to make his way to West Virginia to serve his sentence. Instead, he decided to miss his surrender date. Consequently, Federal Agents had to get involved, and the rapper was promptly arrested and taken to prison. Since that time, he has been on trial for “failure to surrender.” This led to a guilty plea back in February, and since then, a sentence has been in the works. Now, it seems like Dugg’s fate is sealed.

According to Detroit News, 42 Dugg has been hit with a one-year sentence. Overall, this is a very interesting development when you consider how the prosecution only wanted six months. However, the judge clearly wanted to make an example out of the artist. This is especially true when you consider what Dugg will have to go through upon release. He will be supervised closely for up to three years. Additionally, he will have to pay a large fine of $20K while also staying away from any illegal drugs.

This is going to be a huge setback for the artist. Moreover, in recent posts on social media, it is very clear that 42 Dugg disagrees with his punishment. However, as the saying goes, you can’t always get what you want. Let us know what you think of his sentence, in the comments below.
