Tupac’s Estate Reportedly Releasing New Music Soon

Tupac Shakur’s estate might release new music from him soon. Moreover, the rapper’s monumental legacy will manifest into an upcoming Greatest Hits album with four previously unreleased tracks added on. In fact, the news comes from a Pac fan page, who had some words on the rumored release. “SO WORD ON THE STREETS IS THAT UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP WILL BE DROPPING A NEW 2PAC GREATEST HITS,” they wrote. “The album will consist of previously released recordings from the ‘2Pacalypse Now’ period to Pac’s ‘Thug Life’ period with 4 previously unreleased Pre-Death Row tracks. S/O to @2pac_forum_com for the info.”

With this in mind, fans should be very excited to continue celebrating one of the greatest rappers of all time. Also, it’s not the first news we’ve heard this year concerning new songs from the California icon. During a December podcast interview, Shakur’s associate E-Love confirmed some Battlecat-produced tracks would finally see the light of day in 2023. “Bob did more songs with him than I did,” he told the I Only Touch Greatness podcast. “I did two to three songs. Actually two songs are coming out next year. Bob did a string of songs that still have not yet come out.”

Even with this excitement over new Pac music, some kinks are still being worked out when it comes to his old tracks. Back in 2018, Tupac’s estate settled a five-year lawsuit with Death Row Records over unfulfilled royalty payments to the late MC. Not only did Death Row pay them, but they received a slew of unreleased songs. Moreover, they intended to release two albums and discussed the possibility.

Meanwhile, legacy manifests in mysterious ways for the “Hail Mary” rapper. Fun fact: that song came out 26 years ago today (February 11). For example, a painting of him that belonged to John Singleton is now worth $75K. Given both icons’ tragic losses, that bumped up the price for the Baby Boy artifact. However, it also goes to show just how much people champion Pac’s artistry. Let us know if you’re looking forward to new Pac music in the comments, and come back to HNHH for the latest updates.

Juice WRLD Estate Sells His Catalog

Juice WRLD’s estate reportedly sold most of his catalog in a nine-figure deal, carried out quietly in early 2022. According to Billboard, independent music publisher and record label Opus Music Group now owns much of the late rapper’s material. Moreover, it includes 90% of his publishing rights, as well as the rights to 90% of his master recordings’ income. Not only did it include Juice WRLD’s released discography, but also hundreds of tracks that never saw the light of day. Juice released two albums, two posthumous albums, a collab tape with Future, a solo mixtape, and nine EPs.

Furthermore, his label partners Interscope and Lil Bibby’s Grade A Productions kept their ownership of the “Lucid Dreams” star’s masters. Still, this deal raised eyebrows because of the secrecy surrounding its execution, as these reports just surfaced. However, the company that bought most of the publishing and income rights is apparently a fresh face in the industry. According to their website, Opus only represents two other artists. Moreover, these are pop and reggaetón stars Maluma from Colombia and Rauw Alejandro from Puerto Rico. Although they didn’t directly address the sale, they did speak to Billboard about the late artist in a statement. “To represent the body of work of Juice Wrld – whose cultural significance and generational influence can’t be overstated – is an honor and a responsibility,” they shared.

Meanwhile, this news comes months after Juice’s cousin criticized his ex-girlfriend and record label for allegedly “controlling” and “manipulating” the late rapper. While he didn’t specify which label, Juice signed to Lil Bibby’s imprint. Moreover, him and Interscope Records signed him in 2017 for $3 million. Regardless, Bibby organized the latest Juice WRLD Fest. It included performances form Trippie Redd, Ski Mask the Slump God, Lil Tecca, G Herbo, and more.

Still, the late rapper’s legacy continues to live on and endure in the ears and hearts of millions. For example, he became the first artist to have four albums sell 500,000 copies each in a year, specifically 2022. Moreover, all four of his albums in his entire discography continued to dominate the charts. Let us know what you think of this sale in the comments and come back to HNHH for the latest on Juice WRLD.

Whitney Houston Estate “Disappointed” In Jerrod Carmichael’s Golden Globes Joke

The estate of Whitney Houston has responded to Jerrod Carmichael’s controversial joke referencing the late singer from the Golden Globes. In a statement provided to TMZ, they said that the joke was “in poor taste.”

As for what Carmichael said, he joked: “So, we are here, live, from the hotel that killed Whitney Houston, the Beverly Hilton.”

“The Whitney Houston Estate is disappointed in the joke, and felt it was in poor taste,” the responding statement reads.

Houston accidentally drowned in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel in 2012. At the time, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office cited drowning and the “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use” as the cause of her death.

The estate weren’t the only ones unhappy with Carmichael’s joke. Users on Twitter criticized the comedian as well.

One wrote: “I didn’t like that Whitney Houston joke at all. That was so tasteless and disrespectful to her.”

Another agreed: “Pls never hire this guy again. Horrible host.”

Houston wasn’t the only celebrity that Carmichael referenced while hosting the event. He also targeted Tom Cruise and the Church of Scientology with one of his jokes.

“Backstage, I found these three Golden Globe awards that Tom Cruise returned,” he remarked. “I think maybe we take these three things and exchange them for the safe return of Shelly Miscavige.”

Miscavige is a member of the Church of Scientology; however, she hasn’t made a public appearance since 2007. She’s married to Scientology leader David Miscavige.

Coolio’s 7 Children Listed As “Probable Beneficiaries” After Rapper Died Without A Will

Months after Coolio passed away at age 59, it has been revealed that the rapper died without a will to control his estate.

His seven children, all adults, were listed as “probable beneficiaries” after Coolio died without a will in place. They are also named as his next of kin, with Coolio’s ex-manager filing a probate to appraise his estate.

The Los Angeles native shocked the hip-hop community in September when he suddenly passed away.

According to his manager, Coolio was visiting a friend’s home and excused himself to use their bathroom. After some time passed and the friend hadn’t heard back, they checked on him and discovered him on the ground. It is suspected that he suffered a heart attack prior to his death.

Following a brief hiatus, Coolio returned to the rap scene in 2021 with his single “Out Fa da Bag.” He rose to prominence in the ‘90s with his Kylian Mash collab “Gangsta’s Paradise” and for notably rapping on the theme song for Nickelodeon’s “Kenan and Kel.”

Per Billboard, the rapper spoke with the Crypto Island podcast shortly before his death and revealed a new side as he discussed his cryptocurrency knowledge.

“I am actually heavily invested into the metaverse,” he said. “I have a nice swath of land in the metaverse and barring the internet crashing or somebody dropping an EMP (electomagnetic pulse) on the whole world and there being no power, this would be a good deal.”

On the topic of climate change, Coolio revealed, “I’m not so much worried about it. By the time it gets to be a serious problem I’ll be long dead.”

The rapper leaves behind his seven children and a lasting rap legacy. R.I.P.

Takeoff Died Without A Will, Parents Fighting Over Estate: Report

The hip-hop community is continuing to mourn the tragic and sudden death of Takeoff just last month. The Migos member was shot and killed in Houston on November 1. The shooting allegedly stemmed from an altercation that broke out over a game of dice at a private party. He was only 28 years old.

It’s now being reported that he died without a will. His estimated net worth of $26 million currently has no heirs and is causing trouble among his parents.

Battle For Takeoff Estate

The Atlanta native’s mother, Titania Davenport-Treet, and his father, Kenneth M Ball are fighting over who will distribute their son’s assets.

According to Georgia law, without a will, his closest relatives have exclusive rights over both his money and assets. Included in these assets is his extensive music catalog, as well as residual income from the “Casper” rapper’s record sales.

Davenport-Treet and Ball each believe that they should have the right to control their son’s estate and distribute these assets how they wish.

His estranged parents reportedly don’t get along already, so this is causing even more issues within the family.

Take rapped about being raised by a single mother on a few instances throughout his career as the most underrated member of the Migos. “And most of us got single parents, only a mother / N****s in the kitchen whipping chickens, tryna get butter,” he rapped on the 2015 Migos track, “Highway 85.”

On the trio’s smash hit, “T-Shirt,” he famously rapped about his mom encouraging him to stay off the streets.

Ball is contesting that he was around to parent and assist in raising his child.

Just last week, Houston police arrested and charged the gunman with murder in Takeoff’s death.

Takeoff’s first posthumous verse was released last week. He appeared on the track “Feel The Fiyaaaah” alongside A$AP Rocky, off of Metro Boomin’s sophomore album, HEROES & VILLAINS.
