Netflix has released the first trailer for Tyler Perry’s upcoming World War II film, “The Six Triple Eight”. The film, written and directed by Perry, is based on the true story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the first and only all-Black Women’s Army Corps unit to serve overseas during the war.

Let’s make no mistake, the WACs were vital to the war effort. The most important war this country ever fought. That part.

Leading the charge is Kerry Washington starring as Major Charity Adams, the battalion’s commanding officer. It’s an ensemble cast that includes Ebony Obsidian, Milauna Jackson, and Kylie Jefferson, among others, with appearances by Susan Sarandon, Dean Norris, and Oprah Winfrey.

“The Six Triple Eight” tells the story of these unsung heroes who overcame racism, sexism, and grueling working conditions to serve their country. Despite facing numerous obstacles, they were determined to deliver hope and shatter barriers. 

Here’s the official rundown:

“THE SIX TRIPLE EIGHT is inspired by the first and only Women’s Army Corps unit of color to serve overseas in WWII. Despite facing racism and sexism – and grueling working conditions – they were committed to serving their country with honor and distinction. Given an extraordinary mission and united in their determination, these unsung heroes delivered hope and shattered barriers.”

Behind the camera the film is produced by Perry alongside Nicole Avant, Angi Bones, and others, the film will feature an original song titled “The Journey” by Diane Warren, performed by H.E.R., with choreography by Debbie Allen. “The Six Triple Eight” is set for a limited theatrical release on December 6, followed by a Netflix premiere on December 20.

The first trailer for the upcoming thriller “The Line” has dropped, featuring Halle Bailey in a pivotal role alongside a star-studded cast that includes the late Angus Cloud, Alex Wolff, and Austin Abrams.

The upcoming film, which is the directorial debut of Ethan Berger, dives into the dark underbelly of college fraternity culture, blending tension and intrigue with a strong ensemble cast.

Get this, “The Line”, which premiered at the Tribeca Festival in 2023, has been described as a “campus thriller that plunges into the dangerous world of college fraternities and blind adherence to tradition.”

Here’s the official breakdown:

“Alex Wolff stars as Tom, a scholarship student desperate to break free from his working-class background who is charmed by the prestigious KNA fraternity’s promises of high social status and alumni connections that open doors. But upon beginning a romance with Annabelle (Halle Bailey), a classmate outside of his social circle, and the manipulative schemes of his fraternity president (Lewis Pullman) unfolding during the hazing of new members, Tom finds himself ensnared in a perilous game of ambition and loyalty.”

When it comes to the filmmakers, the film’s screenplay, co-written by Berger and Alex Russek, has been produced by Alexandre Dauman, Jack Parker, Adam Paulsen, and Lije Sarki, with executive producers including Taylor Grant and Zack Purdo.

So the trailer plays on the film’s suspenseful atmosphere and the complex relationships among its characters, setting the stage for a gripping narrative. “The Line” is a must-watch for fans of intense drama and psychological thrillers, offering a glimpse into the dangerous world of ambition and loyalty on college campuses.

Insecure star Jay Ellis is working, working! The Maverick costar just joined the cast of Peacock’s upcoming thriller series All Her Fault, where he joins Succession lead Sarah Snook. 

The news was first reported by Deadline, which confirmed that Thomas Cocquerel will be part of the cast. It sounds like an interesting one-two punch.

Okay, so All Her Fault is an adaptation of Andrea Maria’s bestselling novel. 

Diving in, the series centers on Marissa Irvine (played by Snook), who arrives at an unfamiliar address, 14 Arthur Avenue, expecting to pick up her young son, Milo, from a playdate with a new school friend. However, when she knocks on the door, a stranger answers, and to Marissa’s horror, her son is nowhere to be found. This encounter sets off what becomes every parent’s worst nightmare.

Get this: Ellis will play Colin, an attorney, while Cocquerel will play Richie, a high school P.E. teacher. The series also features Dakota Fanning as Jenny, Abby Elliott as Lia, Jake Lacy as Peter, Sophia Lillis as Carrie, and Michael Peña as Detective Alcaras.

Megan Gallagher created the series and is also a writer and executive producer. Other executive producers include Nigel Marchant, Gareth Neame, and Joanna Strevens for Carnival Films, Jennifer Gabler Rawlings, and Christine Sacani. Minkie Spiro, who directed the first episode, is also an executive producer.

Production for “All Her Fault” is currently hitting the ground running in Melbourne. That’s Australia for anyone who is not the best at geography.

Netflix just dropped the first look and announced the premiere date for its upcoming thriller series, “The Madness”, starring Academy Award nominee Colman Domingo. 

Here’s what we know so far.

The eight-episode series, set to debut on November 28, 2024, promises a gripping and intense narrative centered around media pundit Muncie Daniels, played by Domingo.

In “The Madness”, Daniels stumbles upon a murder deep in the Poconos woods, launching him into a desperate fight for survival. As he struggles to uncover the truth and clear his name, Daniels must also reconnect with his estranged family and reevaluate the beliefs and ideals he once held dear.

“Everything about this conspiracy thriller excited me,” Domingo shared in an interview with Tudum. “It was a unique protagonist, one that I had never seen or experienced. Someone who has very centrist beliefs, and now they’re being thrust into the world to really hard-core believe in something and to reexamine the people that they believed were possible enemies. You realize you have more in common with them than you thought you had in the beginning.”

Behind the camera, the series is created by Stephen Belber and co-showrun by Belber and VJ Boyd. Clément Virgo directs and serves as an executive producer alongside Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kaitlin Dahill. The cast also includes Marsha Stephanie Blake, Gabrielle Graham, John Ortiz, Tamsin Topolski, and TJ Mixon.
