Dwayne Haskins’ Widow Settles Lawsuit Against Dump Truck Driver

Kalabrya Haskins, the widow of late NFL quarterback Dwayne Haskins, has settled a lawsuit against the owner and driver of the dump truck that struck and killed Haskins in Florida in April 2022. Haskins was in Florida for a bonding camp with his new Steelers teammates. However, he was killed when he was struck by a truck while attempting to cross I-595. A lawsuit filed in March 2023 against the driver of the truck, as well as the company that owned the truck, alleged that the truck was speeding, was being driven carelessly, and was over the legal weight limit. The lawsuit also named the Florida Department of Transportation, a rental car company that had leased a vehicle to Haskins, and the contractor for the signage on I-595.

Through a statement made by her lawyer, Haskins said that the estate had settled their suits against the dump truck driver and the company that the truck was owned by as well as “various other parties”. However, the statement also noted that “the case continues to proceed in Broward County Circuit Court against multiple other defendants.”

Haskins Estate Still Pursuing Conspiracy Angle

The other cases referenced are ones brought about in regard to claims that Haskins’ death was the result of a malicious conspiracy. His estate has accused a range of people of planning to drug and rob the NFL player. The aforementioned March lawsuit lists four individuals, two restaurants, a driving range, and a hotel as defendants. More specifically, the lawsuit alleges that Haskins was the victim of a blackmail and robbery conspiracy. The suit alleges that a group of four individuals drugged and robbed Haskins in the hours prior to his death.

No charges have been filed in relation to those claims, or any aspect of Haskins’ death. As mentioned by the estate’s statement, the lawsuits relating to the blackmail conspiracy remain ongoing. Haskins was drafted 15th overall in 2019 but failed to leave a positive impression on the then-Washington Football Team. He was released after the 2020 season and signed with the Steelers in January 2021. Haskins remained inactive for all but one game of the 2021 season. However, he was named the backup to Mitch Trubisky a month before his death in March 2022.

Colin Cowherd Makes Egregious Dwayne Haskins Error

Colin Cowherd is a sports talk television commentator who is known for having some controversial takes. He currently hosts The Herd over on FS1 where he can always be seen delivering some wishy-washy takes. Overall, Cowherd’s whole thing is saying an outlandish opinion, being proven wrong, then changing his opinion as if he was always right, to begin with. Although people see through this, other viewers just lap it up. He’s not as big as Skip Bayless or Stephen A. Smith. However, he doesn’t need to be as he already has a dedicated fanbase.

Today, Colin Cowherd found himself in a very bad spot. As you can see in the video clip below, he decided to do a segment on quarterbacks who cannot win a Super Bowl. Overall, the list is poorly researched as many of the QBs on the list are either retired or free agents. However, the most egregious error was the one about none other than Dwayne Haskins. Haskins passed away just a couple of years ago. Although, he still ended up on the list.

Colin Cowherd Puts His Foot In His Mouth

As you can imagine, fans were absolutely outraged over this. Most people were just shocked that Cowherd would be so callous in the way he spoke about Haskins. However, most noted that Cowherd probably didn’t even know that Haskins had passed away. This is a huge error and oversight. Of course, Cowherd is not the only one to blame here as someone provided some poor research prior to the airing of the segment. All-in-all, this is a PR nightmare for FS1.

Cowherd has yet to react to the backlash from this clip. However, he will likely have to, otherwise, things will only get worse. Let us know your thoughts on all of this, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the sports world. SOURCE SPORTS: Dwayne Haskins Family Believes He Was Drugged in Conspiracy Before His Death

Dwayne Haskins

A lawsuit filed by the family of late quarterback Dwayne Haskins states he was drugged the night of his death. The drugging is alleged to be a component of a “blackmail and robbery conspiracy” against Haskins.

According to ESPN, the lawsuit was filed in Broward County, Florida, and names four individuals, two restaurants, a golf driving range, and a hotel as defendants in the suit.

Haskins was struck by a dump truck on April 9, 2022, leading to his death. Haskins was walking on the South Florida highway when he was hit. The lawsuit’s release is described as “an important step in the process of uncovering the complete truth about this tragedy.”

The family attorney, Rick Ellsley, also stated Haskins’s watch was stolen before his death. Haskins was legally drunk when he was hit, with his blood alcohol level measuring at .20 and .24. The legal limit of Florida was .08. He also tested positive for ketamine and norketamine, drugs used as anesthetics.

Dwayne Haskins’ Widow Files Shocking Lawsuit

Dwayne Haskins’ tragically passed away one year ago today at the age of 24. Haskins was killed when he was struck by a dump truck while attempting to cross I-595 in Florida. He had been in Florida as part of a bonding trip with his new Pittsburgh teammates. His death was met with an outpouring of love for the quarterback. However, it also led to several uncomfortable moments from the national media.

An investigation into his death ruled that Haskins had high levels of alcohol and ketamine in his system. According to his widow, Haskins had been looking for gas for his rental car at the time of his death. For many, the incident appeared to be a tragic accident that befell a young and promising football player. However, a new lawsuit filed by Haskins widow appears to tell a different, and disturbing story.

Haskins Allegedly Blackmail And Robbery Victim

According to a lawsuit filed in Broward County last month by his widow, Kalabrya, there is a previously untold element to Haskins’ death. The lawsuit lists four individuals, two restaurants, a driving range, and a hotel as defendants in what it alleges was a conspiracy against Haskins. More specifically, the lawsuit alleges that Haskins was the victim of a blackmail and robbery conspiracy. The suit alleges that a group of four individuals drugged and robbed Haskins in the hours prior to his death. Furthermore, attorney Rick Ellsley has questioned the role of the dump truck that struck and killed Haskins. According to Ellsley, the driver did not attempt to avoid Haskins while driving dangerously in a vehicle over the legal weight limit.

The claims are shocking, to say the least. If true, they paint a twisted picture of Haskins’ final hours, where he was drugged, robbed, and left in a vulnerable position. It would completely change the narrative, which currently portrays Haskins as an intoxicated individual killed in an unfortunate accident. Kalabrya Haskins is reportedly seeking a jury trial and unspecified damages. TMZ also reports that a rental car company and the Florida Department of Transportation have also been named as defendants in the suit. However, it may be some time before more developments in this shocking story are made public.

Dwayne Haskins

It appears Dwayne Haskins was out drinking “heavily” a few hours before he was struck and killed on a Florida highway earlier this year, according to a toxicology report, The Miami Herald reported on Monday.

The Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office said Haskins’ blood alcohol content was 0.20 when he was fatally struck on Interstate 595 near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport just before dawn on April 9. That’s 2.5 times the 0.08 legal limit for driving in the state.

Following the release of the autopsy report, Haskins’ widow, Kalabrya Haskins, released a statement through her attorney asking for privacy and patience.

“On behalf of Dwayne’s wife, his family, and his memory, and on behalf of the truth, we respectfully request and pray for privacy, for patience, and for the public to withhold any judgment during this period while the law enforcement authorities continue to investigate and conduct their important work,” the statement read, in part.

Haskins was a former Heisman Trophy finalist at Ohio State and was selected by the Washington Commanders with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft. Haskins was set to compete for the starting quarterback job for the Pittsburgh Steelers this season before his untimely death.

NFL Quarterback Dwayne Haskins Dies After Being Hit By a Car in South Florida

Dwayne Haskins has won the starting quarterback job for the Washington Football Team.

NFL quarterback Dwayne Haskins died after being hit by a car in South Florida on Saturday morning. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Haskins was in South Florida training with quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Haskins was only 24 years old.

Just three weeks ago, Haskins was signed to a one-year restricted free agent tender by the Steelers. His goal was to develop into a starting quarterback.

“I feel like I can be a starter in this league. I got drafted for that reason,” said Haskins in January. “I definitely believe I have the talent to. I just haven’t put it all together yet. And that’s something I have to do this offseason to put myself in position to play.

“I’ve wanted to be a quarterback my entire life. Being a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers is a dream. I always had great respect for the black and gold. Great respect for Coach (Mike) Tomlin, 15 seasons with no losing season. I want to show him that I want this bad. I want to be a leader. I want to be a guy that people can rely on, on and off the field to be more than just a guy that can throw a ball, talented enough to be in a position where I can execute at a high level and keep the Steelers way.”

Haskins was drafted by Washington in 2019 after a stellar career at The Ohio State University. Rest in peace to Dwayne Haskins.
