50 Cent Didn’t Like “Many Men” According To Tony Yayo

“Many Men” is one of the most beloved songs from 50 Cent’s classic 2003 debut album Get Rich Or Die Tryin’. But according to Tony Yayo, 50 didn’t even like the song at first. The former G-Unit member made an appearance on the Drink Champs podcast to talk about a variety of topics. In a teaser for the episode posted to Instagram Yayo tells the story of 50 Cent not caring for the song that would one day become one of his most classic hits.

It’s not even the only time that 50 Cent’s name has come up on a podcast in recent weeks. After rumors swirled for years that 50 Cent had written songs for The Game, he addressed the allegations in a recent podcast appearance. The Game didn’t mince words when denying the rumors. “I didn’t do no writing for 50 and 50 ain’t do no writing for me,” he said. Even with that denial many fans watching the episode continued to claim that 50 was responsible for some of The Game’s biggest hits.

50 Cent Wasn’t Crazy About “Many Men”

A judge recently tossed out a $32 Million lawsuit 50 Cent has brought against his legal team. The suit claimed there was a conflict of interest on his legal team during a previous trial. The trial in question ended with 50 having to pay Rick Ross $7 million for publicly posting his sex tape while the two were beefing. 50 is often involved in some kind of beef. Most recently he’s been in volved in back and forth shots with Ja Rule following the rappers surprise appearance at Hot In Herre Festival.

It’s been almost 10 years since 50 Cent last released a new album. His most recent project is his 5th album Animal Ambition: An Untamed Desire To Win from 2014. The album has features from Prodigy, Style P, Trey Songz, Jadakiss, Yo Gotti, and more. It’s been the longest drought in studio albums in 50’s career so far since. What do you think of 50 Cent not liking his hit song “Many Men” at first? Let us know in the comment section below.

Ice-T Gets Choked Up Discussing 2Pac On “Drink Champs”

Ice-T got emotional while discussing his relationship with 2Pac during his latest appearance on the Drink Champs podcast. The rapper was explaining that Death Row Records was “training him to be a killer” before his death. The conversation began with N.O.R.E. asking about the differences between ‘Pac’s early career as a backup dancer and MC for Digital Underground and the superstardom that followed.

“Absolutely,” Ice-T answered. “When I first met ‘Pac and Money-B and all them, it was Digital Underground, so you got Shock G who’s a hundred percent different. I didn’t even recognize ‘Pac as militant or nothing like that, just as a dancer, friend, cool.

Ice-T At The Grammys

He continued: “And when he came out, I was like, ‘Yo, that’s the same dude!’ But I couldn’t disrespect him because his lyrics were deep, and I got to work on [Strictly 4 My N.*.*.*.A.Z…] — me, him and Cube on ‘Last Wordz.’ So what people don’t understand is, I love ‘Pac. But he’s an artist to me, he was just another artist. People are like, ‘Pac is a God!’ But ‘Pac is an artist. We were friends.”

From there, he recalled a time Shock G came to his house to ask for help regarding 2Pac. “I had a story where Shock G came to my house,” he said. “I lived in the Hollywood Hills, Shock came to my door. I said, ‘Why the fuck you knocking on my door?’ He said, ‘I was up in the Hills, I asked does any Black people live up here.’ They said, ‘Ice lives right over there.’ So Shock knocked on my door. We sat down and he was like, ‘Ice, talk to ‘Pac, man. They feeding ‘Pac gunpowder. ‘Pac is not listening to me.’” It’s at this point in the interview that Ice-T begins to get choked up.

Ice-T Reflects On 2Pac Friendship

Ice-T eventually regained his composure and continued: “See the thing is, when you working with a rapper, you have to get a rapper in a state of mind. Death Row was training ‘Pac to be a killer, which you heard in the music. But I did a thing for Mike Tyson which is like, you train a man to be a pitbull then you get mad when he eats the furniture. You see what I mean? So that energy bled into the streets, to his demise.”

Ice-T Says He Still Eats At Denny’s & iHop Despite His Wealth

Ice-T says that, despite his fame and wealth, he still eats breakfast at Denny’s and iHop. Appearing on Drink Champs with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, Ice-T explained money hasn’t changed everything about his life. He also revealed he and his wife, Coco Austin, still shop at Target.

“Yeah we still shop at Target. We at Target,” he admitted. “Motherfuckas think at some point, humans leave the planet. Like, we don’t eat at Taco Bell or like, motherfuckas will be like, ‘He goes to Target.’ Like what the fuck, if you need Target shit! Where do you go if you need Target type shit?!”

He added: “One time. Somebody say, ‘Yo, you eat at Denny’s? You eat at iHop?’ I’m like, ‘Is there a Gucci egg I’m missing?’ Is it some egg, some place, I don’t know what the fuck I’m supposed to do for breakfast. An egg is a fucking egg.” Check out the portion of the interview below.

Elsewhere in the interview, Ice-T discussed his iconic role on Law & Order: SVU, revealing that he was nervous about playing a police officer at first. He thought that doing so could be “career suicide” for someone who made the song, “Cop Killer.” In the end, he found playing a cop to be simpler than he expected. “Playing a cop and playing a gangsta is the exact same acting,” he explained. “We both got a gun, we both got an attitude, we both want answers or there will be a consequence.”

Ice-T also recalled once trying to get ecstasy for his wife Coco Austin at a club as well as past beefs and more. Check out the full interview at the link below.

Ice-T On “Drink Champs”: On Acting Career, Past Beefs & Much More

On the latest episode of Drink Champs with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, Ice-T popped by as their special guest for the conversation. During their talk, the went through a lot of the most important and notable aspects of the New Jersey-born and Los Angeles-raised rapper’s career. Whether it was about his history in the hip-hop game, his acting experiences, or his thoughts on the current generation, he spoke earnestly and vividly of his perspective. Specifically, some of the most interesting points of the conversation revolved around him speaking on the evolution of the genre and his interactions with artists like Tupac Shakur and when he first heard the genre. Overall, it holds a lot of enlightening stories and insights into the MC’s legendary career.

For example, Ice-T briefly addressed how he interprets different roles as an actor, especially considering his life experiences. Specifically, he spoke on the surprising similarity between portraying a police officer and playing the part of a gangster. “We all have had enough experience with the cops, you can act like a cop,” he explained. “Like when I’m on ‘Law & Order,’ right before I do the scene, I just go ‘A**hole, a**hole, a**hole, a**hole.’ And then I talk down to you. But dig this, playing a cop and playing a gangster is the exact same acting. Exact same acting. We both got a gun, we both got an attitude, we both want answers, or there will be a consequence.”

Ice-T’s Drink Champs Episode

Of course, not every story told in Ice-T’s Drink Champs episode was as serious. One funny anecdote that he told was when he tried to get ecstasy for his wife Coco Austin at a club. When a dealer recognized him, he ended up giving him about 20 tablets of MDMA. It’s unclear what he did with all that ecstasy, but at least Coco was probably pleased with getting such a large stash for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, it’s heartening to see that the Drink Champs episode went well, because the 65-year-old isn’t the biggest fan of podcasts. “Artist Public Service: Doing Interviews can be risky if you Don’t know what you’re doing…” he wrote on Twitter. “They will talk to you for hours hoping you say one thing they can TWIST and hype up for clicks.. Unfortunately most podcast have now DEVOLVED to this BS. Just sayin.” For more news and the latest updates on Ice-T and Drink Champs, stick around on HNHH.

Ice-T Breaks Down Why Playing A Cop & Playing A Gangster Are The Same

Ice-T is almost as renowned for his acting career as he is for his incredibly influential hip-hop artistry, and some might even flip that table. Regardless, it’s clear that the actor has learned a lot through his time on the screen, and that it’s also garnered him much success and acclaim. Moreover, the 65-year-old will appear on an upcoming episode of Drink Champs with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, of which various preview clips released. In one of them, the MC-turned-actor revealed the similarities he believes there are between playing a policeman and playing a gangster. While they may seem like opposite roles, he actually finds a lot of common ground between them, an almost poetic assessment.

“We all have had enough experience with the cops, you can act like a cop,” Ice-T remarked.

Ice-T On The Yin & Yang Of Playing A Cop Versus A Gangster

In fact, his appearance on Drink Champs is actually quite ironic considering that the New Jersey-born creative warned artists of podcast appearances just about a month ago. “Artist Public Service: Doing Interviews can be risky if you Don’t know what you’re doing,” Ice-T tweeted. “They will talk to you for hours hoping you say one thing they can TWIST and hype up for clicks. Unfortunately, most podcasts have now DEVOLVED to this BS. Just saying.” That being said, it’s clear that he’s at least selective, so we’re sure that this latest appearance will host some interesting conversations and revelations.

Meanwhile, another clip from his interview was a wild story about doing ecstasy with his wife, Coco Austin. Maybe the full talk boasts more bizarre and zany tales like these, a mode that the artist doesn’t typically engage in. Still, we’ll have to wait and see until the full episode drops. Ice-T Shared ‘The Greatest Drink Champs Story’ About The First Time He Tried Ecstasy With His Wife Coco

NORE’s Drink Champs podcast has heard its fair share of wild stories, but Ice-T is sure that he’s got the best one yet. In a preview clip from the upcoming episode, Ice-T recounts what he calls “the greatest Drink Champs story ever,” detailing the first time doing drugs with his wife, Coco. As the delighted hosts crack up, the LA gangsta rap pioneer remembers looking for an ecstasy dealer in a nightclub. When he finally finds one, though, not only does the salesman blow up his spot, but he also recruits Ice, giving him the entire stash and declaring, “Now, you’re the man!”

Ice-T’s storytelling gifts are certainly being put to use on Drink Champs, but usually, all he needs is his Twitter account and some free time to provide hilarious commentary on pop culture and sage advice on staying out of trouble in LA. His response to a promo for Law & Order: SVU gave a succinct explanation for why he can’t talk his way out of tickets as easily as his costars, while his educational day learning about television fans’ habit of “shipping” characters tickled plenty of funny bones online.

The new episode of Drink Champs will be available on Thursday, June 29, on Revolt TV.

Ginuwine Talks “Pony” And Being A Sex Symbol On “Drink Champs”

This week’s Drink Champs guest was R&B legend Ginuwine. First breaking onto the music scene as part of The Swing Mob in the early 90s, Ginuwine’s solo work later in the decade. 1996’s “Pony” was the musician’s first solo single and peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Furthermore, the song has become a pop culture (and bedroom) staple.

While he has never had a number-one album, he is a six-time platinum recording artist. 100% Ginuwine and The Life both peaked in the top five, while The Senior and A Man’s Thoughts were top-ten albums. While he hasn’t released any new music since 2011, he still performs regularly and is widely considered one the brightest stars of late 90s R&B.

Ginuwine Gets Honest On “Drink Champs”

There was a lot for Ginuwine to talk about with N.O.R.E and DJ EFN. Of course, the best place to start would be “Pony”. In doing so, Ginuwine paid tribute to the legendary Static Major. “I always felt like anything could’ve been put to ‘Pony,’ and it would’ve been a hit. [DeVante Swing] played that song and he was like, ‘This gon’ be for the bodyguards.’ I’m looking at him like… I was like, ‘Dude, please give me that,’” Ginuwine noted. “Y’all heard it in ‘96, but we recorded it in ‘93. Rest in peace, Static Major, because he wrote it. I helped write the verses, but he wrote the song, so I don’t take no credit for that. The hook was already done when I came in there,”

That led to questions about how the musician felt about being considered a sex symbol.  “For me, I started in ‘90. So I made it in ‘96. I knew nothing else but to make good music and come from the heart. Love music, soul music, and all that. Once I started that, I didn’t know how big it was going to be.” On a similar note, Ginuwine addressed how he felt about women throwing their underwear on stage. “I never really strategically planned anything like that, but I always remembered my mom back in the days saying, ‘The ladies used to throw panties for Marvin Gaye.’ I never really planned that, but I welcomed that of course.” Be sure you check out the full interview for yourself.

N.O.R.E. Links Up With Wu-Tang Clan Backstage

N.O.R.E. met up with members of Wu-Tang Clan backstage at one of the legendary group’s concerts with Nas. In doing so, the Drink Champs host called on GZA to come on his podcast so he can give him his flowers.

“Come on Godamnit,” he remarked to the group. “I need y’all both on the show. Come on. Let’s go. I gotta give you your flowers. I’m telling you, come see me.” Wu-Tang has been traveling with Nas for their NY State of Mind tour. They recently finished up the European leg of the tour and will be returning for more shows in the United States after the summer.

In addition to meeting up with Wu-Tang, N.O.R.E. also recently linked up with Nas after the group’s Paris show. N.O.R.E. didn’t need to invite the legendary Queens rapper on Drink Champs, as he’s already appeared on the show. In fact, N.O.R.E. recently described the episode as one the most “surreal” interviews he’s ever conducted.

“That’s my brother and I never really wanted to interview him at all because he’s my brother, but the fact that he did sit down… it’s very weird to ask people questions that you don’t wanna ask them,” N.O.R.E. told HipHopDX backstage at Lovers & Friends festival in Las Vegas. “I’m not the police, and they know I’m not the police. But at the end of the day, I wanna have fun and I wanna make them surreal,” he said.

Lost Boyz Talk Notorious B.I.G. And “Renee” On “Drink Champs”

One week after having Rick Ross on the show, N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN had more rap royalty visit the Drink Champs studio in the form of Lost Boyz. Hailing from South Jamaica in Queens, the group came together in 1993. Blending party beats and street anthems, the group quickly found success. Their debut single, “Lifestyles of the Rich & Shameless”, peaked at #91 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at #10 on the Billboard Rap 25. A year later, in 1996, their debut album Legal Drug Money peaked at #6 on the Billboard Album 200.

Sitting down with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, there was a lot for the group to talk about. Their conversation covered the group’s relationship with the Notorious B.I.G., the origins behind the group’s highest-charting single “Renee”, and many other topics on the popular podcast.

Lost Boyz Appear On “Drink Champs”

The Notorious B.I.G. was one of the most influential rappers on the East Coast scene, and shared a deep friendship with the Lost Boyz. “We had some good memories with B.I.G. Last time I seen him, he was in a wheelchair. He talking about, ‘Spigg, look what [Lil’] Cease did to me.’ I said, ‘I see you, give me that blunt,’” Spigg Nice recalled. “He was good peoples, man. No question. We was mad at Pac, we was doing that new [‘Hit Em Up’] shit, we was kind of revved up.” Mr. Cheeks added.

Furthermore, the group talked about the origins of their hit single, “Renee”, which peaked at #33 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on the rap charts. “It’s real life. ‘Renee’ is a story about a shorty, we all got shorties in our town and all across America… Ebony Williams, she got hit. Basically, everybody’s at Park Jam. Rest in peace, but she took one. It was a lot of things happening.” As indicated by Cheeks’ story, the song was inspired by the real-life murder of 18-year-old Ebony Williams. Williams was killed while using a payphone in Queens, caught in the crossfire of a turf dispute. Biggie and “Renee” were just two of the topics the group discussed in the four-hour episode, so be sure to check out the full video.

Rick Ross Says He’s One Of Few Rappers Able To Hear A Beat & Rap On The Spot

As the latest guest on Drink Champs, Rick Ross had a lot to discuss, promote, and speak on. For example, a part of his conversation with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN revolved around his upcoming car show. Specifically, the Biggest Boss gave some remarks on a similar event hosted by DJ Envy, and playfully brought some competition into the fray. “Envy was never on my level to battle,” he expressed. “I wouldn’t do that to Envy. I like Envy and I f**k with Envy, but in the car game he not ready for that, but I support that s**t.”

However, Rick Ross also made an interesting proclamation while shouting out Drake, Lil Wayne, and Jay-Z. Furthermore, he said that he and that group are among the “two percentile” of artists that can hear a beat, write and record something for it on the spot, and stand by their work. “We in the two percentile when it comes to writers and creators,” Rozay began. “It’s called a two percentile.

Rick Ross Speaks On “The Two Percentile” In Rap

“The two percentile is when you walk into the room, you hear a production you actually love, you can actually create it, think of it, write it, and execute it right then,” Rick Ross continued. “I can’t say I’ve done that with many artists. It’s not even five artists. Drake is in the two percentile. You know, the majority of the game- and Im’a be honest, I understand when you working with Rozay, you don’t want that type of pressure on you. You come to the studio with me, there’s very few people that’s comfortable enough to listen to a beat, take my direction from it, and create something in that moment, record it right then, and stand on it. Wayne could do it, [and] Jay-Z.”

Of course, such a comment is bound to cause some debate among hip-hop fans. Whether you think any or all of those four artists don’t deserve that tile or have another candidate, one thing is for sure: the 47-year-old is right in remarking it as a rare skill. Regardless, we’re sure that these MCs will continue to craft that talent and embody it with their next efforts.
