Bills-Steelers Postponed To Monday, Chiefs-Dolphins To Go Ahead Despite Wind Chill

The first playoff game of 2024, Steelers at Bills, will be postponed until Monday due to heavy snow expected in Buffalo on Saturday. The game, originally scheduled for January 13 at 1pm will now be played on January 15 at 4:30pm. “Now, you may see clear skies [Sunday] morning, but don’t be fooled. The bull’s-eye of the storm is predicted to hit midday Sunday afternoon right during the scheduled Buffalo Bills game. [The game will] continue to be played at Highmark Field right in Orchard Park. It’s all part of our critical efforts to keep New Yorkers, motorists and fans safe from this wildly unpredictable storm,” New York Kathy Hochul said in a public address.

However, Chiefs-Dolphins will go ahead despite reports that the wind chill could reach as low as -30 degrees in Kansas City. “There are no public safety travel concerns for getting to the stadium for fans, the clubs, stadium personnel or public authorities,” an NFL source told ESPN. The NFL has been in touch with both teams’ medical staffs and will be prepped to combat the cold weather.

However, both the Chiefs and Dolphins are not worrying about the cold. “No one likes being cold. That’s why we have temperature control. However, it does make the moment bigger when you know that it is an absolute fact that it’s going to be frigid. Well, what if as a team, you find a way for it to not affect you? To be able to go and do athletic performance in that weather, it takes will. That will comes from a passion that is deep down that has been derived while a lot of these guys started playing the game that you’re unlocking,” Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniels said. The Chiefs are favored by 4.5 points, according to ESPN Bet.

There is one other playoff game scheduled for January 13. However, it will not be affected by the weather thanks to its Texan venue. Houston hosts Cleveland in a curious matchup of two teams who have roared back to relevancy. The Browns are two-point favorites, the first time that the team has been favorites in a playoff game since 1994.

Tyreek Hill House Fire: Wide Receiver & Family Confirmed To Be Safe

Firefighters have attended a fire at the home of Tyreek Hill. It’s unclear what caused the blaze at the home at the Berkshire Court community. Hill was at practice at the time and is reported to have left the Dolphins facility to attend to the situation. Furthermore, Hill’s family who were present at the time of the fire were able to leave the building without harm. Hill and his family moved into the home in 2020 shortly after he was traded to the Dolphins.

Hill’s status for Sunday’s game against the Bills remains unknown. Hill enters the game with 1717 receiving yards on the season. That means he needs 248 yards to set the new single-season receiving record and 283 yards to reach his season goal of 2000 yards. There are 34 248+-yard games and 11 283+-yard games in NFL history. Hill’s career best is 269 against the Buccs in 2020. However, the most yardage from a single receiver the Bills have allowed this season is 122 to Calvin Ridley. Hill himself only had 59 yards when the teams met earlier this season. While Hill will finish the year with a fantastic season, and so should absolutely be in the MVP discussion, it will take a complete collapse from Buffalo in a do-or-die game for Hill to find his way into the history books.

Tyreek Hill Allegedly Fathered Three Child In 2023

However, the house fire comes after a rough personal end to 2023 for Hill. Tyreek Hill was reportedly been named as the father of a third child born in 2023 in the penultimate week of the year. The news came a week after a pair of paternity suits filed by women who claim that Hill currently pays them $2500 a month for the upkeep of children they had with him that were born this year. Little is known about the third woman he reportedly had a child with. However, she has not at this time filed a paternity suit like Brittany Lackner and Kimberly Baker.

Lackner, a travel influencer, came forward with claims that Hill had gotten her pregnant in January of this year before giving birth in February. Baker originally came forward in May. However, unlike Lackner, Baker does not have a prior paternity test that allegedly proves that Hill is the father. Furthermore, Hill has sought to have both women’s suits dismissed as neither woman currently lives in the state of Florida.

Dolphins Seeing Consequences Of Not Pulling Starters, Channing Crowder Claims

Former Dolphins star Channing Crowder has slammed Mike McDaniels and the Dolphins for not pulling key starters during their 56-19 drubbing at the hands of Baltimore last weekend. “That game, at that juncture, down by that much — 30-plus points — you pull out the starters. You fold up camp. Whatever you want to say. And you get ready for Buffalo Bills,” Crowder told TMZ. However, McDaniels kept key starters in and it may have cost the Fins dearly. Starting QB Tua Tagovailoa is day-to-day with a shoulder injury, while Bradley Chubb’s season is finished thanks to a torn ACL. That leaves the Fins potentially very short-handed headed into the weekend.

As mentioned, all this comes as the Dolphins eye a crucial season-ending game against the Bills this weekend. While the Dolphins have already qualified for the playoffs, they could still lose the divisional race to the Bills. If the Bills win on Sunday, the teams will be tied at 11-6. However, the Bills would win the division based on the head-to-head tiebreaker, having already beaten the Dolphins once this season. And, as mentioned, the Dolphins may have to fend off Buffalo without key starters.

The other question for the Dolphins heading into Week 18 is one of history in the making. Tyreek Hill enters the game with 1717 receiving yards on the season. Elsewhere, Hill’s quest to become the NFL’s first 2000-yard receiver became that much harder last weekend. Hill was a late injury scratch from the Dolphins’ dominant win over the Jets. Missing the game meant that Hill was unable to add to his current yardage tally of 1542. With three games left in the regular season, Hill will need to average 152.6 yards against the Cowboys, Ravens, and Bills just to hit 2000. Hill has hit this mark five times this year. However, those games were never against the level of opponent the Dolphins are still to face. Additionally, the Fins’ final three opponents have combined to allow 0 150-yard receivers and just nine 100-yard receivers this season so far.

It remains to be seen if Hill can even match Calvin Johnson’s record, let alone eclipse 2000. Tyreek Hill Named In Two Paternity Suits

Tyreek Hill has been named in two paternity suits from women claiming to have had his children in the past year. Brittany Lackner, a travel influencer, came forward with claims that Hill had gotten her pregnant in January of this year. After giving birth in February, Lackner claims that Hill pays her $2500 in child support, which is “wholly inadequate” given his $30 million contract with the Dolphins and the fact that Lackner is currently unemployed.

The other suit was filed by Kimberly Baker, who originally came forward in May. She has claimed that she also receives $2500 a month from Hill for the care of their alleged now-six-month-old daughter. Unlike Lackner, Baker does not have a prior paternity test that allegedly proves that Hill is the father. Furthermore, Hill has sought to have both suits dismissed as neither woman currently lives in the state of Florida. Things are complicated by the fact that Hill already pays $13,500 a month to his ex-fiancee for the upkeep of their three children together. Furthermore, the timeline claimed by both women would suggest that Hill had been repeatedly unfaithful to his then-fiancee whom he married last month.

Tyreek Hill Still Eyeing History

Meanwhile, Hill is still pursuing on-field history and he continues to push to become the NFL’s first 2000-yard receiver. Through 13 games, Hill has 1542 yards. That means he needs 458 yards across the final four games of the season to hit 2000. That equates to an average of 114.5 per game. It will require Hill, who only had 61 yards in the Dolphins’ loss to the Titans, to play lights-out football for the rest of the season.

However, that’s easier said than done. Hill is currently listed as questionable for Miami’s game against the Jets this week. He is reportedly suffering from an ankle injury and did not practice on Wednesday. It would be a great shame to see Hill falter so close to the end of his historic season. Furthermore, given that he had 102 yards against the Jets earlier in the season, Sunday would serve as the perfect opportunity to chip away at the mountain he has left. No one is even close to Hill’s mark. The second-best receiver in the league by yardage, the Eagles’ A.J. Brown, has 1258 on the season.

Travis Kelce was hit with several questions about Taylor Swift during his media availability in Germany ahead of the Chiefs game against the Dolphins. Things started normal enough, with one reporter asking for a basic relationship update. “The latest status is I got to see her last week. That’s the latest status right there,” Kelce said, seemingly implying that the couple didn’t spend Halloween together. However, the reporter pushed their luck, asking if Kelce was in love with the singer. “I’m going to keep my personal relationship personal,” he responded bluntly.

Furthermore, Kelce didn’t answer a question as to whether Swift would be attending the game in Germany. He reiterated that he wanted to keep his relationship private. However, it’s unlikely that Swift will be in attendance. Similar to last weekend against the Broncos, Swift will likely skip the game as she prepares to go on tour. Swift is set to perform in Argentina on November 9, meaning it would be a surprise if she traveled to and from Germany less than a week before the show.

Mike McDaniel Plays Down Chiefs Game

On the other side of the game, Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel played down expectations for the game. “I’ll tell you what’s going to happen with the Miami Dolphins. We lose, we can’t beat good teams. We win, we’re going to win the Super Bowl. None of it matters. You have to be your best when your best is required, and that’s when there’s elimination games. So you’re trying to build towards that and take advantage of every opportunity to best service yourself for the situation at end of the season,” McDaniel told reporters in Germany.

Furthermore, McDaniel spoke on the spate of injuries that are affecting the Dolphins. “We still have a day to assess and we’re not going to get ahead of ourselves, but it’s been very encouraging and we feel optimistic, but have to just see how today plays out to make sure that there’s no setbacks. We feel very good about all the offensive linemen we play, and there’s a long season, so we don’t want — there’s no reason for him to be pressing through something that might hurt him in the long run,” he said. In particular, he referenced the potential return of Terron Armstead, who is eligible to come off injured reserve this week.

The Chiefs enter after a blowout loss to the Broncos last weekend. While they still hold a firm lead on their division, it was a shocking loss all the same.

Dolphins Announced For “Hard Knocks” But Players Aren’t Happy About It

The 2023 in-season edition of Hard Knocks will feature the Miami Dolphins, but players aren’t exactly thrilled about the idea. QB Tua Tagovailoa paused for over 10 seconds when asked about he felt before adding “That’s probably my reaction”. Meanwhile, CB Xavien Howard had a much more blunt response. “Hard Knocks is sh-t, especially during the season. No, I’m serious. I’m not a fan,” Howard said. However, teams cannot refuse to participate once selected. HBO’s cameras will arrive in Miami following their game in Frankfurt, Germany on November 5.

The Dolphins’ reactions are very similar to those of the Jets, who were featured in the show’s preseason edition. “I understand the appeal with us. Obviously, there are a lot of eyes on me, a lot of eyes on our team, and a lot of expectations for our squad. One of the only things I like about Hard Knocks is the voice of God, the man who narrates it, Liev. They forced it down our throats and we have to deal with it,” QB Aaron Rodgers said back in July.

For the Dolphins especially, Hard Knocks represents an unnecessary distraction in a title contention season. Entering Week 8, the Dolphins are in sole control of the AFC East with a 5-2 record. A tough loss to the Eagles was canceled out by divisional shenanigans, with the Patriots stunning the Bills over the weekend. However, despite their title aspirations, the Dolphins still have some tough games they’d rather not have to dance around a TV crew to prepare for.

The two biggest games left on the Dolphins’ schedule are a December 24 game against Dallas and a regular season-ending game against Buffalo. The Bills rematch especially could determine who wins the AFC East. The last time the teams met, the Bills blew out the Dolphins in dominant fashion. Patriots Fan Killed Following Altercation During Dolphins Game

Tragedy has hit the NFL world as a Patriots fan was killed on Sunday. During the Patriots’ game against the Miami Dolphins, a fan by the name of Dale Mooney was being taunted by Miami Dolphins fans. According to Yahoo! Sports, the man was from New Hampshire and had driven to the game to watch it go down with some friends. His wife says she received word that he was catching grief from the Dolphins fans who were in his section. Subsequently, he was punched in the head by a Dolphins fan and was knocked unconscious.

Fans in the section filmed the altercation and were confused when Mooney wouldn’t get up. Eventually, they realized he was not breathing and they called for medical intervention. Parademics administered CPR and eventually brought him to the hospital, where he was declared dead. A witness told Boston 25 News about what he saw at the game. As you can imagine, it was all a harrowing experience for those involved.

“It looked like people grabbing and pulling at each other at first at some point in the guy in the Dolphins jersey punched the victim twice in the face and that’s when the victim fell into his seat unconsciousness,” said Joey Kilmartin a witness. “The guy in the Dolphins jersey got hauled away by police and that’s when everybody noticed something was wrong a minute or so later the guy still hadn’t made any movement it really didn’t look like he was breathing.”

Our heart goes out to Mooney’s family and friends during this very difficult time. Stadiums should be a whole lot safer for fans.
