NLE Choppa Breaks Silence On Alleged Disappearance

NLE Choppa has spoken out after being reported missing earlier this week. “I appreciate y’all showing concern but the missing narrative isn’t cool, especially knowing that people really do go missing everyday. I took a little time to myself to get back to my roots, but trust I’m all good. Apologies to anyone that was worried. We don’t run from battles, we take em chin up. IM BACK. 2019Chop,” the rapper wrote on Instagram.

Choppa was reported missing by his mother, Angela Potts, on Friday, who asked fans with knowledge of his whereabouts to contact her. Potts expressed concern that Choppa was looking to return to Cottonwood, a neighborhood in South Memphis where the rapper grew up. However, Potts later walked back her statement, saying “I never intended to scare anyone with my post nor did I expect for people to think he is missing” in a follow-up post.

Choppa Beefs With Haters

The alone time coms just a few days after Choppa was seen beefing with haters on social media. After responding “bet that” to a user tweeting “NLE fell off”, the rapper began arguing with people who agreed with the sentiment. Another Twitter user made a nearly identical claim, to which he sarcastically replied “100%.” He went on, growing increasingly frustrated with his haters. “Folks pissing me off,” he shared. “What NLE y’all watching bug beg it up”. A day later and Choppa was reportedly ghosting his family.

However, Choppa’s main evidence that he has not “fell off” was the success of the past year. “Y’all keep asking for old NLE like the music I ain’t been giving y’all recently ain’t getting plaques. I’m tryna grow as a artist but y’all want me backtracking on BS. But bet that up. I’m on straight dirt y’all got me f*cked up. One of the most streamed artists this year BUT BET,” he said elsewhere on social media. According to date online, Choppa is the 367th most streamed artist on Spotify. However, data specifically relating to 2023 is difficult to find.

Bam Margera Turns Himself In To The Police

Bam Margera was a core pillar of Jackass‘ early success. However, he has become better known for his struggles with alcohol. What had once been part of his persona on Jackass became a very real health struggle. As recently as March 2023, Margera was arrested for public intoxication.

That March 29 arrest came just 27 days after he was arrested on a domestic assault charge. On April 23, police were called after Margera reportedly assaulted his brother and threatened to kill him. The family has since stated that the incident happened during an intervention for Margera. Margera fled police and is reportedly on the run with his girlfriend and her 8-year-old child. He then proceeded to make disturbing phone calls to family members.

Margera Surrenders To Police

Margera’s location was unknown to police and family members following his disappearance. Pocopson Township, where police were called to on April 23, is just 12 minutes from the Delaware border. Furthermore, Margera refused to disclose his location when calling family members. Police had not yet traced the cell phone of his girlfriend, who he was reportedly travelling with. However, Margera has now been confirmed to be safe and had voluntarily turned himself in to the police. Margera was facing charges of simple assault, harassment, and terroristic threats.

Posting to Instagram, Margera said “I just got out of the courthouse with my lawyers. Everything went great and the false accusations of what my brother says are not true and he will be sued for defamation as well as being evicted from castle bam sooner than later. The reason this happened is because I read his phone saying he wants me back in California and he wants to find a way to 302 me. Fuck him.” Additionally, his lawyer told TMZ, “He was arraigned and entered his plea of not guilty. He was released on a $50,000 unsecured bail. Mr. Margera enjoys all of his constitutional rights, including the presumption of innocence. The wild rumors regarding his behavior this week are absolutely false. He is in good health and in good spirits.”
