Wheezy Allegedly Calls Gunna A Rat

Former-collaborators Gunna and Wheezy have allegedly cut ties, according to leaked screenshots of DMs. The artists worked together on various songs in the past, including 2021’s “Young Wheezy,” 2022’s “Pushin P,” and more. No Jumper shared the DMs on their Instagram, leading to various responses from users. One writes, “Damn gunna & wheezy go crazy together too,” adding a frowning emoji. “Damn everybody hate Gunna lol,” another adds. Someone else chimes in, saying, “Gunna meat riding knowing he said yes mam to them folks is crazy.” Another social media user calls the reported falling out the “End of an era.”

The alleged DMs include Wheezy sending a user rat emojis, referring to Gunna. The user defends Gunna, allegedly telling Wheezy not to “burn bridges,” adding, “y’all just gonna regret this shit.” The artists’ beef surrounds Gunna’s decision to take a plea deal in the YSL case involving Young Thug. The case sees over 14 defendants, including Young Thug, charged in a 56-count Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act indictment. Gunna’s caught a lot of heat for his choice, including jabs from Lil Durk, Blueface, Lil Baby, and more.

Wheezy And Gunna May No Longer Collaborate

One user in the comments of the DMs shares their thoughts on the incident, saying, “Untill thug say it everyone should not say anything just go about they business…cuz if he say gunna ain’t snitch n***as bout to be lookin crazy for jumping ship on the boy …and for you dumb n***as in the back. A guilty plea in which a defendant maintains their innocence but admits that the prosecution’s evidence would likely result in a guilty verdict if brought to trial.” The user adds, “that’s not snitching that’s basically saying y’all got enough evidence so why ima go to trial ima take this deal and maintain innocence…”

At the end of last year, Dj Akademiks shared screenshots of a conversation between him and Gunna’s attorney, Steve Sadow. He asked Sadow if he could, “publicly address how Gunna’s viral ‘yes ma’am video affects Thug and YSL if at all?” “Doesn’t effect anyone but my client,” Sadow responded. “Out of court statements at a plea hearing cannot come into evidence against someone else,” he added.

Nicki Minaj Details Exactly How She Decides Her Collaborators

Nicki Minaj delivered a flurry of collaborations in recent times as fans await the release of her follow-up Queen. She recently teamed up with Ice Spice on the “Princess Diana (Remix)” and this week, unveiled the video for Kim Petras’ “Alone.” Throughout her career, guest appearances have helped her solidify her spot as one of the GOATs. Her versatility and ability to out-bar her collaborators have made her one of the most sought-after features in the industry these days.

With a wide range of guest appearances on her resumé, we have to wonder what her process is like when choosing the right song. “I sleep on it. For weeks usually. Sometimes months. Normally don’t play it after the first day. I let the universe decide. Then 1 day out of the blue I tell Juice to pull it up. That means it came back to me on its own. I lay a few references w/different flows, then sleep on it some more. Then… boom! I’ve made a decision. Written & recorded. Then we wait…for the barbz to give the nod of approval I guess,” she said.

Although plenty of artists look at features as a quick cash grab, fans praised Nicki for prioritizing her craft above all else. Nicki explained that she often listens to the song as a fan before deciding if she wants to hop on the song. “The verse has to elevate the song or it shouldn’t be on the song. Also, not every song should have a rap verse on it,” she said. She added that actually rapping on different songs requires a passion for the craft, especially when experimenting with various genres.

“Also rap has to rlly be your passion in order to adapt to diff songs, genres, beats, tempos, etc. you can’t go on the court and play the same exact defense with every team…some you’ll have to pull back, some you’ll need to attack harder,” she added. This bit of advice seems like it could be valuable for the artists that are coming under her. Nicki recently announced the launch of her own record label, Heavy On It, as well as her partnership with Ice Spice. Check out Nicki’s tweets below.
