John Legend’s Passionate ‘Wonder Woman’ Video Is A Heartwarming Tribute To His Wife Chrissy Teigen

It has been said that “behind every strong man is a woman,” yet often times the latter doesn’t get the full credit they deserve. John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen regularly love each other out loud, but his latest video for “Wonder Woman” may be one of the most heartwarming things he has ever done for her.

In the video, the R&B veteran stands shirtless in a room and stares through a window at Teigen through weeds. In later scenes, she is shown caring for their two children poolside while Legend looks at her and smiles.

Switching between his charming tenor and captivating falsetto, Legend sings “You make me wonder, woman, how do you do it? / Some superpower, I don’t understand / You make me wonder, woman, how do you do it? / You’re superhuman, and I’m just a man.”

In a world of toxic R&B and male hedonism, this type of reverence toward one’s partner is refreshing. It can be found on John Legend’s latest LP Legend, released this past Friday. The album features Saweetie, Rick Ross, Free Nationals, Amber Mark, and more.

Chrissy Teigen Jokes That John Legend’s ‘Splash’ Will Have Ben Shapiro Calling For ‘WAP Doctors Again’

As the rollout for John Legend’s upcoming eighth studio album Legend continues, his latest single, the sexually suggestive “Splash” featuring Jhene Aiko and Ty Dolla Sign, is getting plenty of attention for its ribald references to wet and wild indoor sports. When one fan tweeted about the effect she expected the song to have on listeners, Legend’s biggest supporter, his wife Chrissy Teigen, noted the reaction and took the opportunity to compare it to another recent hit about the virtues of, well, sexy swimming without the pool.

“it is very dirty and not for the children!” Chrissy joked. “ben shapiro gonna call for WAP doctors again.” Obviously, her joke is a reference to the conservative commentator’s pearl-clutching reaction to Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s song “WAP,” which saw him read the lyrics line-by-line in that whiny voice of his. Rather than having the desired effect of outraging anyone who’s ever actually enjoyed the practice of procreation, Shapiro’s performative prudishness spawned rather a lot of hilarious memes from people dunking on him.

Listen, if this one sends Shapiro running for the recording booth, he’s really not built for the rest of Legend so far. It might be John’s raciest album yet, judging from singles like “Dope,” “Honey,” and “All She Wanna Do.” Between these songs and the fact that the Legends are expecting their third child, Legend is shaping up to be a funk-filled snapshot of all the couple’s lascivious quarantine activities.

John Legend And Chrissy Teigen Are Expecting A Third Child

Currently, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have two kids, Luna and Miles. Teigen just revealed, though, that soon, they’ll be adding a third.

In an Instagram post shared yesterday, Teigan dropped photos of her baby bump and wrote, “the last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again. 1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way. Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still. I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing. Ok phew it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!”

This comes after the couple previously revealed in August 2020 that they were expecting a child, via Legend’s video for “Wild.” That October, though, Teigen revealed the tragic news that they had lost the baby, writing in part, “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough. […] To our Jack — I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.”

John Legend Addresses The Apparently Fabricated DMs Of Chrissy Teigen’s Supposed Bullying

A lot of attention is focused on Chrissy Teigen these days in light of her recent apology for old tweets and inappropriate direct messages. Now it appears another supposed victim of Teigen’s bullying has been outed as a faker.

Designer Michael Costello recently shared supposed screenshots of a 2014 conversation in which Teigen treated him aggressively, but Business Insider notes that there are multiple inconsistencies in the images as it relates to Twitter’s visual formatting. So, it would seem that Costello’s screenshots were fabricated.

This got a response from John Legend, who wrote in a series of tweets today, “Chrissy apologized for her public tweets, but after her apology, Mr Costello fabricated a DM exchange between them. This exchange was made up, completely fake, never happened. […] Honestly I don’t know why anyone would fake DMs to insert themselves in this narrative, but that’s what happened. I encourage everyone who breathlessly spread this lie to keep that same energy when they correct the record.”

This comes after Legend showed support for Teigen by sharing a line from her apology letter: “We are all more than our worst moments.” That quote kicks off the conclusion of Teigen’s message, which goes on to read, “I won’t ask for your forgiveness, only your patience and tolerance. I ask that you allow me, as I promise to allow you, to own past mistakes and be given the opportunity to seek self improvement and change. Phew. A lot, I know. Thanks for listening.”

John Legend Shows Support For Chrissy Teigen After Her Lengthy Apology For Old Tweets

For the past month, Chrissy Teigen has been in the dog house of the internet after drawing ire for past tweets in which she bullied Courtney Stodden. After maintaining and understandably quiet online presence since then, Teigen wrote a lengthy post about the situation yesterday, and husband John Legend has offered a reaction.

Legend shared Teigen’s post and added a caption of his own: He quoted a line from the post — “We are all more than our worst moments” — and appended four heart emojis.

In the Medium post, Teigen addresses the “old awful (awful, awful) tweets” and the “crushing weight of regret for the things I’ve said in the past” she is experiencing. She also addresses Legend and her family, writing:

“John tells me almost every day how much our daughter Luna reminds him of me. Every day, I try to make sure she’s all the best parts of me, all the things I aspire to be all the time, but fail at sometimes. And we preach kindness to her and Miles every chance we get. Will they eventually realize there is some hypocrisy there? I certainly do. But I hope they recognize my evolution. My goal is to be so good that my kids will think this was all a fairy tale. Not the fake good. The good that has the best intentions, the good who wakes up wanting to make her friends, family, her team and fans as happy as possible. The good who will still f*ck up in front of the world but rarely, and never not growing only more good from it.”

She goes on to conclude, “We are all more than our worst moments. I won’t ask for your forgiveness, only your patience and tolerance. I ask that you allow me, as I promise to allow you, to own past mistakes and be given the opportunity to seek self improvement and change. Phew. A lot, I know. Thanks for listening.”
