Chloe Seeks Much More Than The Bare Minimum On The Provocative ‘Treat Me’

In 2020, Chloe Bailey and her sister Halle stood out thanks to their incredible album Ungodly Hour. The project was the Chloe x Halle duo’s sophomore release, and by the end of the year, it was heralded as one of the year’s best R&B projects. In 2021, the Baileys took a page out of The Internet’s book and opted for some time to work on solo projects while stressing that they were not done as a duo. So far, that decision has resulted in incredible individual covers from Chloe and Hailey and the release of Chloe’s debut solo single, “Have Mercy.”

Now, in 2022, Chloe continues her journey as a solo act with “Treat Me.” It’s a record that she’s teased on TikTok and other social media platforms for quite a while now. “Treat Me” is carried by production that sports quite a bounce, which gives Chloe more than enough room to show off her dance moves and once again impress viewers. The track was also released with an accompanying music video that sees her being her most unapologetic self as she showcases her best attributes in a provocative message to her unnamed recipient.

Hopefully, “Treat Me” will grant Chloe the same collection of moments that “Have Mercy” did. After releasing the latter record, Chloe performed it at the MTV VMAs, the AMAs, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Chlöe Announced The Release Date Of Her Second Single ‘Treat Me’ And Shared Some Revealing Cover Art

These days, the smallest move Chlöe Bailey makes is enough to get the internet’s attention. Following up the success of her debut solo single, “Have Mercy,” she’s been on quite a run, most recently collaborating with Gunna on the “You & Me” video, and prepping the release of her second solo song. That track, which she’s already been teasing, is called “Treat Me,” and today she let fans know exactly when it will drop — and shared some pretty bossy single artwork to go along with it.

“TREAT ME DROPS 4/8 y’all ready? make sure you pre-save,” she wrote on Twitter.

Fans were definitely excited about the single artwork, which is line with some of the other high-glam photos Chloe has been sharing since she started as a solo artist. Those photos often have people — including other celebrities like Cardi B — absolutely floored. Meanwhile, despite their recent collaboration, and photos of them holding hands, Gunna and Chloe have still been maintaining that they’re not a couple. Well, if that is true that means Chloe is still single, and it sounds like her next song is laying out exactly how she wants to be treated in a relationship.

Keep an ear out for that new single dropping next Friday, April 8.

Gunna And Chloe Cozy Up With Each Other In The High-Fashion ‘You & Me’ Video

As much as he’s known for his word-twisting rhymes and penchant for creating his own slang terms, Gunna has developed a reputation for being a fashion aficionado, even receiving an outfit co-sign from the “Fashion Killa” herself, Rihanna. Now, he’s put his own spin on that iconic video, this time for his own DS4EVER single, “You & Me,” which features his own possible musical match, Chloe Bailey.

As the two stars wander through the round racks in a massive showroom, they pose and mug a mirror, which Chloe leaves a big kiss on. They also hit a honeymoon suite, complete with a heart-shaped bed covered in roses for an aerial shot of the couple getting extra cozy. Then, Gunna performs his heartfelt verses from inside a phone booth while wearing a jacket bearing a giant “P” on the back as a nod to his fan-favorite new song and habit of using the emoji to signify his approval.

“You & Me” is just one of the standout tracks from Gunna’s latest album, which also launched the singles “Too Easy,” “Livin Wild,” “Pushin P,” and “P Power.”

Chloe Bailey Had To Ether A Guy Who Claimed She Came On To Him In High School

Since the release of her debut solo single, “Have Mercy,” the world has been falling in love with Chloe Bailey. Well, that’s not entirely true, she was already beloved as one half of Chloe x Halle, and her “Buss It” challenge turned quite a few heads as well. But now that she’s clearly gaining confidence in her own sexuality, and finding her voice, it’s been a joy to watch Chloe come into her own. Everyone from random internet commentators to Cardi B herself is repeatedly floored when the elder Bailey sister drops a new photo series, and even rising rapper Gunna seems intent on getting to know her better.

So look, can we really blame a man on the internet for pretending that he was once sought after by the young diva? It’s pretty understandable that someone would want to claim that they’d known her in the past, and even embellish a little bit by claiming she was interested. That’s likely what was motivating a guy who decided to share his own version of events — that Chloe tried to talk to him in high school, but that he saw her star power, and he encouraged her to work on her career instead of focusing on a humble man such as himself. Except, our girl had to crush his dreams hard by quote tweeting his fantasy and setting the record straight: She was homeschooled in high school. When you’re learning at home, there’s very little room for flirting. Like zero. As Keke Palmer would say, sorry to this man! Chloe had to ether him. Nas would be proud.

For his part, the man in question seems to be doing just fine with his fantasy world.

Chloe Actually Hits THAT Note In Her Crystal Clear Cover Of A Minnie Riperton Classic

Ever since the Bailey sisters, Chloe X Halle, got separate social media accounts, they’ve been distinguishing themselves in different ways. While Halle, the younger sister and the star of Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of the 1989 classic The Little Mermaid, has posted more wholesome content (sweet potato pies!) and acoustic covers of pop hits on her bass (check out her rendition of Radiohead’s “Creep“), Chloe has been promoting her upcoming solo album with snippets and high-fashion photoshoots. However, the one thing they still have in common is those covers, with Chloe taking on tracks like Adele’s “Easy On Me.”

Chloe’s latest cover, however, might be the most impressive one yet, as she takes on soul icon Minnie Riperton’s 1974 classic “Lovin’ You.” Along with its post-chorus “la la la” breakdown, the single is notorious for Riperton’s whistle-tone ad-lib, which few singers can hit. Well, we can now consider Chloe among those elite vocalists, as she reaches for the heavens, nailing the sky-high note the song is famous for and setting Twitter abuzz.

Even Chloe herself seems impressed by the achievement, commenting on Twitter, “when you hit a note you’ve been waiting to hit your whole life.” Just try not to think about this rendition being inspired by her rumored beau Gunna, with whom she was seen holding hands recently — although they’ve both denied being in a relationship. It’ll knock their recent collaboration on DS4EVER — and all their future songs — into a whole new, dizzying context.

Chloe Shares The One Thing That ‘Annoys’ Her About Making Music With Her Sister Halle

After finding massive success as the duo Chloe x Halle with their sophomore album Ungodly Hour, the two sisters have started separating their careers a bit. Halle landed a lead role in the live action remake of The Little Mermaid while Chloe is using her first name as a moniker for her solo music and recently dropped the sultry track “Have Mercy.” And though Chloe is grateful she was able to kick off her music career with her sister by her side, the singer says there is one thing that “annoys” her about it.

Chloe recently sat down with In The Know for a cover interview where she spoke about her body image, self confidence, and music. When asked about what it was like to make music with her sister, Chloe said there were “no downsides,” but it was frustrating how the public would try to “pit them against each other” even though they didn’t see themselves that way:

“There were no downsides on our side. But I will tell you what annoys me a lot. I hate when people online constantly try to compare my sister and I. It is the most shallow, most disturbing thing. It was very off-putting to know how people would try to put two young Black sisters who love their craft so much and love each other so much, how they try to pit them against each other just because they’re different in some ways. So that’s the only downside.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Chloe said that, now she’s making music on her own, she is learning how to speak up for herself more. “I think being with my sister, it’s easier to speak up,” she said. “But when it’s just you on your own, you feel like sometimes your voice is too quiet to respect or hear, so sometimes you tend to back down.”

Chloe And Gunna Were Seen Holding Hands Which Sparked Dating Rumors Once Again

It was just a little over two months ago that dating rumors between Chloe Bailey and Gunna began. Back in October, the pair was spotted courtside together at an Atlanta Hawks basketball game against the Dallas Mavericks. As expected, images of thw two caused quite a storm on social media, but Gunna later denied that things were more than platonic between him and Chloe. “We’re not dating,” he said at the time. “That was just like a date, though, where you just go to the game and catch a vibe. But she’s my friend.”

However, that was in 2021. The pair was once again spotted together at a recent basketball game, this one between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacramento Kings. Once the game concluded, Chloe and Gunna were seen holding hands outside the arena. Many jumped on social media to share their thoughts about the video.

Gunna recently revealed the tracklist for his upcoming project Drip Season 4, which includes features from Chloe herself as well as Drake, Young Thug, and more.

Now, he’s also revealed the tracklist, which not only includes the previously released single “Too Easy” featuring Future and the remix with Roddy Ricch but also contains the collaborative track with Chloe Bailey he teased while refuting the dating rumors that circulated after he and the pop star were spotted at a basketball game together.

Clocking in at 20 tracks, the tape follows the contemporary trend of longer releases to generate more impressive streaming numbers.

Drip Season 4 will be Gunna’s first solo release since 2020’s Wunna, although he was extensively featured on the YSL Records compilation Slime Language 2 alongside the rest of Young Thug’s label signees. Ahead of the project’s release, the Atlanta native called it the final Drip Season tape.

Chloe’s Passionate Cover Of Adele’s ‘Easy On Me’ Is Laced With Impressive Vocal Runs

Earlier this year, months before she released her debut single “Have Mercy,” Chloe showed off her impressive vocals by covering a series of tracks from the past and present. After a break from doing so, the singer returns with a passionate cover of Adele’sEasy On Me.” Chloe shows no issue in being able to take on the difficult track. In addition to once again impressing with her vocals, Chloe also added some whistle notes and quality vocals runs to make her rendition of the former No. 1 song all that much better.

Chloe’s rendition of “Easy On Me” joins previous covers she’s delivered in 2021. They include Silk Sonic’s “Leave The Door Open” and Cardi B’s “Be Careful,” which left the rapper smiling from ear to ear. She also took on Rihanna’s “Love On The Brain,” Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good,” and Drake’s “Marvin’s Room.” All of that was great promotion for Chloe’s “Have Mercy,” which arrived in September. She later performed the song at the MTV VMAs, on The Tonight Show With Starring Jimmy Fallon, and the 2021 AMAs.

The singer is also working on her debut project which she spoke about in August. “I’m wrapping it up with such bad-b*tch energy,” he said to Billboard, adding, that it’s “the most liberated and happy that I have felt.”
