Usher Reveals His First Celebrity Crush

It’s no secret that both Usher and Chilli have come a long way since breaking off their fling in 2004, but according to him, their love story started far before they even met. Essence recently named the R&B icon the “Sexiest Men of the Moment,” and as part of their spread, asked the hitmaker a few questions about his love life. During the interview, he admitted that his now-ex was actually his first-ever celebrity crush.

“Imma be real honest with y’all today,” he begins in a clip. “Chilli was my first celebrity crush. I think I was 11 or 12, something like that.” Fortunately for Usher, he got to meet Chilli in 1993, and went on to date her for three years before they split. Their breakup was long believed to have inspired his fourth studio album Confessions, which has since been debunked. Chilli revealed in 2013 that they parted ways simply because “it was that time or whatever,” shutting down rumors of any potential infidelity on his end.

“We were together when he recorded that album,” she told Us Weekly. “All of those songs on Confessions, that was about Jermaine Dupri’s situation. Usher was just singing it. But people kind of bought into it, it was just the timing of our breakup when the album came out… So people assumed that album was about us, but it was not. And Usher and I weren’t oil and water. We broke up because I guess it was that time or whatever… He was that real love for me.“

This isn’t the first time Usher revealed his early admiration for Chilli, however. Earlier this year, he told PEOPLE that he was smitten by the TLC performer at as young as eight years old. He recalled hanging her posted up on his wall as a child, hoping for the opportunity to one day meet her. “At the age of 8, I put her poster on my wall and said, ‘Man that girl is so beautiful. Ice Spice Reveals That Usher Was The First Celeb She Ever Had A Crush On

Even celebrities have their own celebrity crushes. Some high-profile relationships originally began with a crush and many aren’t shy about confessing their crushes publicly. Just a few months ago Chloe Bailey revealed her celebrity crush was Michael B. Jordan, but also confirmed that she’s not the type to shoot her shot. Just a few months later Chloe had an encounter with Boosie Badazz, who similarly declared her his new celeb crush.

Ice Spice was the newest celeb to reveal her pre-fame crush. She did it during an interview with Doja Cat, who was incredibly curious about the answer. Despite saying it made her embarrassed, she was pretty quick to answer that it was R&B superstar Usher. She followed it up with a funny story of encountering him in person for the first time at the MET Gala, which is when Doja agreed that he’s a pretty attractive guy. Recently, Boosie gave his perspective on one of the biggest recent stories to hit the hip hop world. He chimed in on Keefe D being arrested for the murder of Tupac almost three decades after it originally happened. Boosie said he was surprised that the arrest happened at all. He thought that because Keefe had been talking so openly about his involvement in the murder that he had been granted some kind of immunity.

Boosie has also been dealing with a continuing beef with his former signee Yung Bleu. The pair have been throwing allegations back and forth for months and there’s reportedly some serious money involved. Boosie’s own brother is also involved in the beef and has caught accusations of faking Boosie’s signature on an official document. Chloe Bailey Reveals Her Biggest Celebrity Crush

Chloe Bailey says she has had a crush on Michael B. Jordan for years but refuses to shoot her shot at the iconic actor. She explained her hesitation during an upcoming interview on The Dotty Show for Apple Music.

“I’ll say it. Michael B. Jordan,” she admitted. “That’s my celebrity crush. I’ve been said that in interviews even like years ago.” From there, she explained that she’s held off on DMing him because she doesn’t want to force anything. “No. I don’t shoot my shot,” she added. “God will bring my blessings to me when they’re supposed to be here. When we try to force it, we could block other blessings.”

Ghostface Killah Finally Gets A Hug From Crush Nia Long

Ghostface Killah recently took to social media to share a photo of him and Nia Long. The two are seen leaning in for a hug at an event in the new photo. “My Old Crush gave me a Hug,” the artist captioned the post, “shout out to @iamnialong.” It’s no secret that Nia Long has been a crush of his for some time, as he’s given her a few shoutouts on songs in the past.

On his 2000 LP Supreme Clientele, Ghostface Killah dubs Long “primetime” on the track “Who Would You F**k.” She also received a shoutout from the artist on 2001’s Bulletproof Wallets. “Glittered out, stout face, tec, Rae up in the Hilton / Heard Nia Long is in the building,” he raps alongside Raekwon on “The Hilton.” It appears as though the Wu-Tang Clan artist’s dreams have finally come true.

Ghostface Killah isn’t the only artist to have a crush on Nia Long. In May, Omarion addressed rumors he’s dating Long on the Club Shay Shay podcast. Though he didn’t confirm the two of them are an item, he claimed that he’d be game. “Nia if you wanted to rock we can body- ody a,” he said. Kanye West, Jay-Z, and more have also given her shoutouts in the past.

Later in May, Ghostface Killah’s son Infinite Coles had some less than flattering things to say about his father. “I haven’t had a full conversation with you or seen you in over 15 years!,” he began. “You haven’t once tried to reach out to me to see how I’m feeling or how I’m doing. Julie Bowen Gushes Over Method Man: “You Are So Fine”

Julie Bowen, of Modern Family fame, recently gushed over Method Man after running into him at a recent event. The moment was captured in a video posted to TikTok. In the clip, Bowen runs up to the Wu-Tang Clan rapper and poses in front of him until he notices. She then remarks, “You are so fine. I’m sorry. I’m objectifying you, but you’re so freaking fine. Thank you,” before turning to the camera and exclaiming, “Oh my gosh.”

When The Neighborhood Talk reposted the clip, many users commented on the fact Method Man is married. “I know we lust over him and all, but he is a married man,” one user wrote. Another shared a similar sentiment: “It’s something about acting like this over a married man that don’t sit right with me. Like keep that shit on the internet.”

Others defended Bowen’s behavior. One wrote: “He is a very good looking man. People are in the comments talking about “but he’s married”…. SO, does that change how he looks? Speaking as a wife, he conducted himself as a husband should. Give that man (or any FINE man or woman) his flowers and let him humbly and respectfully receive them.”

Method Man has been married to his wife, Tamika, since 2001, although they began dating nearly a decade prior. They share three children together: a son named Shakuan and girl-boy twins Cheyenne and Raekwon. Bowen, on the other hand, was formerly married to Scott Phillips, although the two divorced in 2018.
