Charlamagne Tha God Explains Why Drake Never Truly Lost To Kendrick Lamar

Charlamagne Tha God says Drake can make the argument that he never truly lost his battle with Kendrick Lamar. Discussing the viral feud with his Brilliant Idiots co-host Andrew Schulz, Charlamagne explained that Drake went against far more opponents than just Lamar.

“He’s got the perfect out to say he won the battle, even though we all know he lost,” he began. “He never engaged with Kendrick one on one except for ‘The Heart Part 6.’ ‘Push Ups’ was more than one person. The ‘Taylor Made Freestyle’ was him telling Kendrick, ‘Come on. Come with it, come with it, come with it.’ ‘Family Matters’ he talks about a bunch of different rappers. ‘Heart Part 6’ is the one where he really just talked to Kendrick directly. So, all you gotta do is say ‘I beat 20 people by myself.’”

When DJ Akademiks reposted the video on Instagram, fans had mixed reactions in the comments section. One Drake fan wrote: “Without Drake, these dudes have nothing to talk about. There savior Size 7 don’t give them nothing to talk about.” A fan of Lamar countered: “Why people keep saying 20.. like 4-5 people said something. Ross made a song no1 talks about and ONLY Kendrick went back and forth keep pushing that mysterious ’20’ narrative.”

Charlamagne Tha God Goes Off On Elliott Wilson Amid Ongoing Feud

Charlamagne Tha God has explained his recent criticism of Elliott Wilson, in which he complained about Complex ranking the media veteran at number five on the “Hip-Hop Media Power Ranking.” Reflecting on the comments during the latest episode of the Brilliant Idiots podcast, Charlamagne claimed that Wilson is avoiding him and complained about him insulting him while refusing to sit down for a one-on-one.

He also brought up Diddy and an article Wilson’s wife, Danyel Smith, penned about the disgraced Bad Boy mogul. In doing so, he argued that he’s the person Wilson should be focused on beefing with. “We gotta stop the performative stuff,” Charlamagne remarked. “Don’t say the things to me just because you’re trying to get traction on social media and play the role. I want you to be consistent. The same way it’s easy for you to get at Childish Gambino because you don’t think Childish is gonna say anything back to you, the same way it’s easy to get at a Charlamgne because you don’t think a Charlamagne is gonna say nothing back to you. I need you to keep that same energy for people that you really should have smoke with.”

Wilson responded to Charlagmagne’s initial criticism during an appearance on Bag Fuel Podcast, admitting that he’s tired of him. “I feel like we just never really clicked like that and also I didn’t like the last Brilliant Idiots sh*t he did talking crazy about me being on that list,” Wilson said. “Never explaining why I shouldn’t be top five, and I’m just tired of his sh*t. It’s old school. At a certain point, you just gotta say f*ck this person. F*ck you. I was born in 1971. It can just be that. We don’t have to be cool. We don’t gotta pretend.”

Charlamagne Tha God Thinks Future Deserves A Spot In The Big Three

It’s no secret that Future has made his mark on the world of hip-hop, and according to Charlamagne Tha God, he may have even earned himself a spot in the big three. During a recent episode of his Brilliant Idiots podcast with Andrew Schulz, he weighed in on the viral feud between Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and J. Cole, praising the rapper for the influence he’s had on music over the past decade or so. He noted that there are now several artists making music similar to his, indicating how much of an impact he’s made.

“They talking about a Big Three but really there’s a Fantastic Four. If you really wanna get a little spicy, Future could be in the Big Three,” he explained. “For better or worse, I can find a million Future clones all around the world. I don’t think there’s any rapper that’s influenced culture and music more than Future over the last decade. I think Future has influence. People wanna be Future, people wanna sound like Future.”

His Kendrick-assisted track on the album, “Like That,” also quickly went viral for igniting beef between Kendrick, Drake, and J. Cole. He also revealed who he thinks belongs in the big three, notably leaving out J. Cole entirely. “I would have Drake, Future, Kendrick, personally,” he shared, also adding “Statistically, if you’re talking about numbers and all of that, Future’s over Cole.”

In the wake of the lawsuits, Diddy temporarily stepped down as the chairman of Revolt. The allegations began with Cassie, last month, who accused the Bad Boy mogul of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. She referenced several alleged instances from throughout their years-long relationship. The two agreed on a settlement just 24 hours later. In the days after that, two more alleged victims came forward with similar stories about Diddy.

His spokesperson denied both allegations in a statement provided to HipHopDX. They wrote: “These are fabricated claims falsely alleging misconduct from over 30 years ago and filed at the last minute. This is nothing but a money grab. Because of Mr. Combs’ fame and success, he is an easy target for anonymous accusers who lie without conscience or consequence for financial benefit.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Charlamagne Tha God as well as 50 Cent and Diddy on HotNewHipHop.

Like you really obsessed with me or something for years like you look in the mirror and wish you saw my reflection type shit. Whatever you gotta do to let it out I’m sure your 435 loyal fans will stand by you ya fucking goof.” Check out Charlamagne’s response to Drake on The Breakfast Club below.

As for Charlamagne’s initial criticism, he felt that a track from an album titled For All The Dogs should’ve been “more aggressive.” “He came out with this slow joint with SZA,” he previously remarked. The release of Drake’s “Slime You Out” comes as he continues to finish up work on his new album, For All The Dogs. The project is due for release on October 6, 2023.
