Actually, yes, I do know; it wasn’t on yours, either, and if you say it was, you’re a worse liar than the narrator from “It Wasn’t Me” by Shaggy.

In fact, it wasn’t on anyone’s, and pop culture observers on Twitter are reeling after being blindsided by the unexpected celebrity dating gossip. It isn’t just the overlap in semi-disparate worlds: Murray is, of course, a lauded, veteran comedic actor whose roles tend to stick to the quirky side of humor, while Kelis rose to stardom at the turn of the millennium with a slew of high-profile, Neptunes-produced hits like “Caught Out There (I Hate You So Much Right Now)” and “Milkshake.” More recently, Kelis has turned to farming and selling wellness and beauty products. These worlds weren’t supposed to collide.

But the universe is a mystery, and so, we now have The Sun reporting that the pair has been “getting cozy” after the deaths of their respective spouses in the past two years (both have also had recent bouts of bad press). Which one of y’all introduced Kelis to Bill Murray on a blind date? The Sun reports Kelis’ “Milkshake” brought the Ghostbuster’s legend to the yard.

Murray is 72 years old, and Kelis is 43. The two were spotted in London last weekend, and the R&B singer has been joined by the comedy legend at more of her recent shows.

Sources told The Sun that the two have been “getting close for a while, ” noting Kelis’ second husband died last March, while Murray’s wife passed in 2021.

Speaking on the couple, a friend said, “They’ve met up in the States before which got people in the industry talking, and now are meeting up in London while they’re both here. They’ve clearly hit it off.”

The friend added, “Whatever it is that has brought them together, and however unlikely it seems, they are both single and are having fun despite the fairly big age gap.”

Bill also has work in London, filming a sequel to Ghostbusters.

Kelis’ husband, Mike Mora, passed away after battling stomach cancer in March of 2022. Mora and Kelis got married not too long before his passing, in 2014. She was also previously married to Nas. The singer-songwriter discussed her healing journey following the loss of Mora on Instagram earlier this year. “It’s been exactly a year… that’s crazy to me,” she wrote. “I’m a very private person generally, especially when there is family involved. But there is no denying the impact and evolution my husband’s passing has had on my life.”

She went on to share, “I get asked all the time how I started this journey. Our thoughts and intentions are as powerful and key as our skin health and fitness. I want to live well and this is me sharing what I know to be true.” She also discussed her newfound passions for nutrition and wellness, saying, “I just wanted to eat well.”

Last year, Kelis also went after Beyoncé, claiming the performer has “no soul” after she used a sample of her song “Milkshake” without permission. She didn’t spare the song’s producers, The Neptunes, from her rant. “My mind is blown too because the level of disrespect and utter ignorance of all 3 parties involved is astounding. I heard about this the same way everyone else did. Nothing is ever as it seems, some of the people in this business have no soul or integrity and they have everyone fooled,” she wrote on social media. Kelis later said, “I just heard the record everyone is saying has my sample . But it’s beyond this song at this point. This was a Trigger for me.”

Bill Murray and Kelis are reportedly dating. According to a report from The Sun the comedian and the singer have been spending a lot of time together.

The Ghostbusters actor was reportedly seen watching the “Milkshake” singer perform from the side of her stage during her set at the Mighty Hoopla festival in Brockwell Park in South London.

According to a friend of theirs, the two have been getting cozy for a while.

“They’ve met up in the States before which got people in the industry talking, and now are meeting up in London while they’re both here. They’ve clearly hit it off,” said the source to The Sun.

The source also noted that Murray has watched Kelis perform on other occasions before the Mighty Hoopla festival. They also suggested that they may have bonded over bereavements, following the passing of Kelis’ husband, Mike Mora, last year, and Murray’s ex-wife, Jennifer Butler, in 2021.

While this certainly is an interesting and unexpected pairing, the source noted that the two seem to be very happy.
