Legendary NFL Agent Launches the HOFs Podcast

C. Lamont Smith’s HOFs Podcast is a noteworthy and innovative initiative within the sports industry. The recognition of recency bias in discussions about success, especially when considering the “Greatest of All Time” (GOAT), underscores the importance of providing a more comprehensive perspective on the careers of sports legends. This issue often affects hip-hop stars as well.

The exclusive focus on Hall of Famers, particularly those of the same caliber as clients Smith has worked with, adds authenticity and expertise to the discussions. By exploring the early lives, development, challenges, and paths to the immortality of these athletes, the podcast not only offers valuable insights into the making of sports legends but also serves as a bridge between the achievements of past and present in the sports world.

Including diverse sports legends, such as Barry Sanders, Jerome Bettis, Willie Roaf, Steve Atwater, Joe Thomas, and Coach Mike Krzyzewski (Coach K), showcases the podcast’s commitment to highlighting excellence across various fields. This approach helps combat the tendency to focus solely on recent accomplishments and encourages a more nuanced understanding of greatness.

Smith’s achievements and recognition in the sports industry add credibility to the podcast. His induction into the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers (BESLA) Hall of Fame, selection by Black Enterprise as one of the top 50 sports professionals in the country, acknowledgment by The New York Times as one of the most powerful agents, and inclusion in Sports Illustrated’s list of the 101 most influential minorities in sports underline his impact and influence in the field.

Expanding Smith’s interests into podcasting with HOFs demonstrates a commitment to sharing knowledge and stories with a broader audience. The platform provides a unique opportunity for listeners to gain insights into the stories and wisdom behind athletes’ success, enhancing their appreciation for the diverse paths to greatness.

In summary,  Smith’s HOFs Podcast is a commendable effort to combat recency bias and offer a holistic view of sports greatness, which, in essence, impacts all industries, including music. Including legendary figures and Smith’s own achievements in the industry make the podcast a valuable resource for sports enthusiasts and those striving for greatness in any field. ASAP Rocky Reveals What A Rihanna Collab Would Be Like, And It’s A Surprise

ASAP Rocky and Rihanna are the premiere power couple right now… although they’ve never collaborated on a song together- at least, one they’ve released. Moreover, the closest thing we have to that is the Barbadian singer’s appearance in the “Fashion Killa” music video, but nothing else. As such, many folks wonder what a team-up on wax between the two would sound like, especially as they still haven’t dropped their long-awaited follow-up albums. Furthermore, the New York MC recently told Complex of what a joint effort from him and his boo would sound like. In fact, he named his favorite collaboration of theirs, and it’s as wholesome of an answer as you’d want.

“If me and my lady was to collab, what could we, like, team up and just f***ing smash and go cr*zy on?” ASAP Rocky remarked while repeating the question. “I think we do a real great job at collaborating and making children. I think that’s our best creation so far. Nothing’s better than that, I don’t think. Any design- I mean, we had a third designer coming to help. A ghost designer named God, you know, shaped everything. And we have these beautiful angels, so that’s the best collaboration,” he concluded with a laugh.

ASAP Rocky Speaks On Potential Rihanna Collab: Watch

‘But wait,’ you may be asking, ‘did Rakim Myers just say third? Third?!’ Don’t get your hopes up, friend: rumors about ASAP Rocky and Rihanna expecting a third child soon are still just rumors. Still, with the pace that they’re at and how much they are loving the family life right now, we can’t help but think that they’d be down for it. Either way, this still opens up the door for musical collabs in the future, which can’t come soon enough.

Meanwhile, the “Brother Man” artist is dealing with some legal trouble right now, whereas RiRi is as dominant in the fashion game as ever. Even though they have their own fish to fry, it’s clear that they love nothing more than being together. Whichever way they decide to collaborate next, we’re here for it. Spotify’s RapCaviar Releases List Of The 50 Best Hip-Hop Beats

After a few other controversial hip-hop lists dropped this year, yet another debatable list is here for fans to discuss in celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. Moreover, Spotify’s RapCaviar just unveiled its list of the 50 greatest beats of all time in the genre. While it does lean towards more classic fare from the 1980s, 1990s, and the 2000s, there are still some modern names that made the cut. As such, at first glance, the list seems quite fair to all eras and genres. Even though it probably missed the mark in a few areas for many out there, isn’t that conversation what makes a great list?

Regardless, here are the top ten beats of all time according to Spotify’s RapCaviar, from number ten to number one. First up are “Get Ur Freak On” by Missy Elliott, “SICKO MODE” by Travis Scott, and “Still Trippin’” by Mike Jones. Furthermore, spots seven through five are held by “It’s All About The Benjamins (Remix)” by Puff Daddy & The Family, “POWER” by Kanye West, and “A Milli” by Lil Wayne. Following that are “Who Shot Ya?” by Biggie Smalls, “Grindin’” by Clipse, and “Shook Ones, Pt. II” by Mobb Deep.

Spotify & RapCaviar’s List Of Hip-Hop’s Best Beats Of All Time

Finally, the greatest hip-hop beat of all time (according to Spotify’s RapCaviar) is “Still D.R.E.” by Dr. Dre. What’s more is that the legendary producer also got the top spot on Rolling Stone‘s list of the best West Coast rap songs. In both cases, it’s quite understandable, although Rolling Stone picked “Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang” over “Still D.R.E.” That key line alone is one of the most iconic melodies and intros in the whole genre, but we’re sure that you have a better number one pick in the comments.

Meanwhile, other names included in this list are Kendrick Lamar, Wu-Tang Clan, Future, Shawty Lo, Chief Keef, and many more. Some of the standout beats that missed out on the top ten are “Paid In Full” by Eric B. and Rakim, “Cell Therapy” by Goodie Mob, and “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” by DMX. You can check out the full list by Spotify’s RapCaviar in the tweet above or in the via link below. After you take a peep, let us know in the comments what beats deserve higher placement or missed out altogether. As always, keep checking in with HNHH for the latest news, updates, and conversations in hip-hop culture.

Rihanna Is “The Best Singer Of All Time” According To Chris Martin Of Coldplay

Just a day before Sunday’s Super Bowl (February 12), it’s really starting to settle in. Rihanna will grace the stage for a spectacular halftime show, and Chris Martin of Coldplay recently called her “the best singer of all time.” With that hype surrounding her performance, it’s no wonder fans can barely contain their anticipation. Moreover, that’s true of everyone, from the most humble of fans to the most lucrative of pop stars. Furthermore, Martin recently spoke to Zane Lowe about RiRi’s incredible talent, career longevity, and breadth of enterprise.

“You have to be an idiot not to recognize that she’s the best singer of all time,” he told Lowe. While it’s quite the hot (and biased) take, we can’t fault the 45-year-old for his passion. Still, he continued to explain his admiration for the Barbadian hitmaker. “I don’t know Rihanna very well, I’m mainly just a fan. We performed with her a few times and it is rarer and rarer for her to just sing, which is what makes it even more special. In a strange way, it shows that she really, really wants to do it. No one can make Rihanna do anything at this point. I’m very biased because I’m such a big Rihanna fan. I mean, I think she could just walk out in sweatpants and sing, and that would be just great.”

Furthermore, the two’s collab track “Princess Diana” appeared on Coldplay’s fifth studio album, 2011’s Mylo Xyloto. It became a big hit, with a music video and various live performances to boot. Also, the praise from Martin means a lot, considering he knows a thing or two about Super Bowl halftime shows. In fact, Coldplay performed alongside Bruno Mars and Beyoncé at the 2015 game. Moreover, many might consider that performance one of the more beloved Super Bowls in recent memory.

Regardless, the “Diamonds” singer said that her 13-minute show is “almost impossible” to pull off. “I mean,” she said during an Apple Music press conference about the show. “It’s literally, like, 300 to 400 people breaking the stage down and building it back up and getting it out in eight minutes. It’s incredible, it’s almost impossible.” Whatever she’s got in store, everyone’s betting on her pulling it off. Check back in with HNHH for the latest on Rihanna and her amazing Super Bowl halftime show this year.
