Youth basketball is easily the best place to develop your skills as a young hooper. You get to learn how to play offense and defense, while also learning how to work as a team. The Boston Celtics are the NBA Champions of 2024. It’s a truth that lots of fans are reluctant to embrace. Most Celtics haters have resorted to mocking Jayson Tatum, and his tendency to copy the iconic quotes of his predecessors. The thing that shocked everybody, though, hater or not, were the photos of Tatum’s girlfriend, Ella Mai. The two were seen celebrating the title together, and it looked as though the R&B singer was pregnant with Tatum’s child. Social media didn’t know to react.
Ella Mai was seen in various photos and videos alongside her boyfriend, and it does appear as though she’s expecting. The R&B singer has not confirmed or denied these rumors, nor has Tatum. The two celebrities have been dating since 2019, but the lack of information about their personal lives should come as no surprise.
Neither party has confirmed that they’re in a relationship, despite the fact that they’ve been at each other’s side for five years. Ella Mai was asked point blank whether she was with Tatum during a 2022 appearance on The Breakfast Club. She refused to clarify. “I’m a basketball fan definitely,” she told the hosts. “But you know I’m not one to talk about my dating life.”
The reaction to Mai’s alleged pregnancy was split between surprise and happiness. Twitter users were happy for the singer, even if they were irate over Tatum being an NBA champion. There was also plenty of “Boo’d Up” jokes, as one would expect from any social media interaction involving the “Boo’d Up” singer.

Ella Mai and Jayson Tatum have been rumored to be an item for months at this point. Overall, the two have been spotted on dates, and Mai has even been around for some Boston Celtics games. Last night, Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks to secure their 18th NBA title. Overall, it was a joyous occasion for the city of Boston, especially as the team won at home. Meanwhile, Jaylen Brown was crowned Finals MVP after some phenomenal performances. Unfortunately, in the midst of his great moment, Jayson Tatum was being clowned by fans online. As we reported, he was first made fun of for his attempt at recreating the Kobe Bryant Larry O’Brien photo. However, he is now catching more heat as he copied two other legends. Below, you can see that he tried to recreate the infamous Kevin Garnett “anything is possible” interview from the 2008 Celtics run. Furthermore, he then copied Kanye West’s Grammy speech in which he said: “I guess we’ll never know.”
Responding to the Kanye clip, one person wrote “Bro got script ready with quotes from all time greats.” Meanwhile, other fans continued to clown on Tatum for seemingly having all of his catchphrases prepared. “Bro this dude thinks he’s on a Disney show,” one commenter said. “I really got nothing against Tatum but everything he does feels forced and corny,” wrote another. Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics won the NBA championship last night. Overall, their series against the Dallas Mavericks wasn’t very competitive. None of the games were close, and the Mavericks were very clearly an inferior opponent. Although the Mavericks put up a fight in Game 4, they were awful in Game 5. The Celtics essentially walked to an NBA championship, only losing three games en route to their big win. It was impressive, and it was capped off by Jaylen Brown winning Finals MVP.
After winning the NBA title, Tatum took to the locker room to celebrate with his teammates. Many fans were waiting to see if Tatum would invoke the previous actions of Kobe Bryant, who infamous took a downtrodden photo with the Larry O’Brien trophy. Tatum is a massive Kobe fan, and NBA viewers knew the Celtics star was going to do something similar. Well, those predictions came true, and you can see the results down below.
Tatum’s attempted photo op led to plenty of eye rolls and jokes on social media. “Bro so corny you’re not kobe,” one person wrote. “Bro tryin his hardest not to do the Kobe pic,” said another. Angel Reese received a flagrant foul after smacking Caitlin Clark to the ground as she drove to the rim on Sunday afternoon during the Chicago Sky’s game against the Indiana Fever. Despite it appearing to be a hard hit, Reese defended the move as a “basketball play” while speaking with reporters afterward. The Fever ended up taking the game 91-83.
“A basketball play. It was a basketball play,” Reese said. “I can’t control the refs. They affected the game obviously a lot tonight.” From there, she suggested that some players get a “special whistle.” “I think we went up really strong a lot of times, and we didn’t get a lot of calls,” Reese further argued. “Going back and looking at the film, I’ve seen a lot of calls that weren’t made. I guess some people got a special whistle. But just being able to play hard as best as we can.”

Fever coach Christie Sides thought the call was the correct one. “The right call was made in that moment,” Sides said. “Just make the right call in those moments, and we can move forward. But when we don’t make the right call in those moments, that’s when there’s a problem, and they made the right call tonight.” She had previously complained about the referees in prior games not calling hard fouls on Clark as flagrant. One such instance occurred the last time the Sky took on the Fever when Chennedy Carter fouled Clark.

Late NBA player Darius Morris died of coronary heart disease, with drug and alcohol use playing a role, the Los Angeles County medical examiner confirmed to ABC 7 and TMZ Sports on Saturday. “Contributing conditions” in the accidental death included ethanol, cocaine, and hydrocodone. The 33-year-old passed away unexpectedly back on May 4, shocking the basketball world.
At the time, his family confirmed his passing in a statement to TMZ while asking for privacy. “With great sadness we announce the passing of our dearly beloved son, Darius Aaron Morris,” the statement read. “During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”

Morris first made a public name for himself as a player for the University of Michigan, where he helped his team compete in the NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament. Morris began his professional career with the Los Angeles Lakers, who originally drafted him back in 2011. After spending multiple seasons with the organization, he joined up with four other teams prior to the end of his playing career. Over the course of his time in the NBA, he averaged 3.3 points per game in addition to 1.4 assists and 1 rebound. He most recently played professionally in China and France during the 2019-20 season.

Delonte West was arrested last week and it was an event that could have proven to be life-threatening. He was booked for violating conditions of release and resisting arrest, however, he ended up collapsing while running from police. Overall, it was a severe issue for the former NBA star as he had to be taken to the hospital and administered Narcan. Things were looking dire at the time, and he almost died. It was sad news, especially knowing the various issues West has had in the past.
Subsequently, more news is coming out about West today. As you can see in the clip below, West could be seen on camera roaming around a parking lot in Virginia. Throughout the clip, he seems to be strung out on some sort of drug. It’s a heartbreaking clip to watch as West has been dealing with drug and mental health issues for many years. Although he went to rehab a few years ago at the behest of Mark Cuban, he has been unable to maintain sobriety.
Many in West’s life have attempted to get him help, although he isn’t easy to contact. Moreover, the person needs to accept the help, in the first place. Being an addict is a disease and a lifelong battle. Having said that, it is important to give West grace and empathy during this difficult time. We also hope people stop filming him, moving forward. The ballplayer deserves more dignity than that.

Overall, Bronny James had a difficult season at USC. Of course, much of this stemmed from the cardiac arrest he suffered in training camp. Although he returned to the team throughout the season, he was simply not the same player. His statistics suffered and analysts agreed he was not being utilized properly. However, Bronny declared for the NBA Draft anyway which goes down on June 26-27. Based on projections, he will likely be taking in the second round, on Day Two.
There are two teams, in particular, that Bronny has agreed to workout with. Those two teams are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns. Fans know LeBron wants to play with son, so the Lakers aren’t surprising. Meanwhile, the Suns have a team with lots of talent, albeit little depth, and the concept of luring LeBron there is certainly unique. That said, in the clip below, you can see that Bronny already had his workout with the Lakers.
The Lakers hold the 55th pick in the draft, and many believe that is where he will be taken. Whether or not he actually plays any games, remains to be seen. Moreover, there is a sense he could be sent to the G League to develop. He has plenty of potential, but he is undersized at 6’1 and that has led to some debates about his NBA viability. Only time will tell whether or not he can swing it once he gets to the pros.
