Eladio Carrión Tells Us About His Star-Studded Album ‘3MEN2 KBRN’ And Collaborating With Lil Wayne

The RX is Uproxx Music’s stamp of approval for the best albums, songs, and music stories throughout the year. Inclusion in this category is the highest distinction we can bestow, and signals the most important music being released throughout the year. The RX is the music you need, right now.

Eladio Carrión is ready to make Latin trap global with his new album 3MEN2 KBRN. After solidifying himself as one Latin music’s leading rappers, he proves that his knockout flow can hold up alongside the icons of American hip-hop. Carrión’s latest LP includes features from Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Migos’ Quavo, and Future.

Carrión has set himself apart from other Latin rappers thanks to his bicultural influences. He grew up living his life between the states and Puerto Rico. Throughout his career, Carrión has teamed up with Latin superstars like J Balvin, Rauw Alejandro, Arcángel, Bizarrap, and Karol G. He broke through in 2019 thanks to Latin Grammy-nominated hit “Kemba Walker” featuring Bad Bunny.

Like his Walker tribute, Carrión continues to salute sports superstars who inspire him like with the fierce “Mbappé” remix featuring Future. He also teams up once again with Bad Bunny in the swaggering “Coco Chanel.” 3MEN2 KBRN is Carrión unleashing his full force as a Latin trap star alongside his idols and close friends.

“As a kid, growing up, listening to these artists, and now collaborating with them, it’s a dream!” Carrión says about his album’s all-star ensemble.

In April, Carrión will be performing at both weekends of Coachella. That will lead up to his Sauce USA Tour, which kicks off in May. Over Zoom, Carrión caught up with Uproxx about his latest LP, the mind-blowing collaborations, and hitting the road in our latest Q&A.

What was the experience like to blend the Latin and English rap worlds on your album 3MEN2 KBRN?

I just keep trying to build that bridge between Latin and American culture because I’ve been influenced so much by American hip-hop, but you know I do Latin music. It’s just that: making that connection stronger.

How did the “Gladiador” remix with Lil Wayne come together?

Bro, I manifested the sh*t out of that. Ever since I made the track, I always said, “I’m going to drop it, but if Wayne wants to hop on it, I’m doing the ‘Gladiador’ remix any time he wants to jump on.” Thank God, he got on it for the album. It was perfect.

What did you think when Lil Wayne was down to team up with you?

That’s my favorite rapper! He’s the reason why I go hard on this so much with my punchlines. He’s the reason why I’m picky with my bars. “Gladiador” is one of my favorite intros that I’ve done in my life. Just having him on that song specifically and knowing that it was meant for him and that he liked it. That he heard it and said, “Oh sh*t!” It’s a very big thing for me. He was amazing!

What was the experience like to work with Future on the “Mbappé” remix?

We met in Miami. We linked up over there. We talked for awhile. I had to go back in the studio to do my stuff and that’s when he killed it in his studio and recorded it. And we did the video the next day. It was dope! We closed out [Bad Bunny’s restaurant] Gekkō. There were a lot of people there. It was super cool.

What did you think when 50 Cent decided to feature on the song “Si Salimos”?

I couldn’t even believe it! 50 doesn’t record with anyone. He’s on his producer vibe right now. For him to take time out of his day to really kill that track — because he killed it — it means the world to me.

After years of grinding in the music industry, how do you feel to have an album with your idols on it?

That’s where you have to keep on grinding. That’s where the grinding gets harder. I’m just ready for more work. I’m going to keep on upping the bar.

What was the experience like to reunite with Bad Bunny for the song “Coco Chanel”?

It was cool! I went to LA. We met up. We were locked in for a couple of days. It was just cool to keep up with him because he’s a very busy person. I’m very busy too. To have a couple of days to sit down to talk and just make music, it was super dope to put something out with him again.

By having Quavo and Rich The Kid with yourself and Ñengo Flow on “Peso A Peso,” you’re definitely bringing the worlds of Latin and English rap together.

I think that’s one of the songs that people are going to most like because beat-wise and just how Quavo killed it too. He spoke Spanish. Rich spoke Spanish too. Ñengo killed it! I think that’s going to be one of the easiest songs for both the Latin side and American side to digest because the beat sounds kind of Latin and trap. It’s going to be one of the biggest hits of the album.

How do you feel to be performing at Coachella this year?

I feel amazing! For them to consider me, to go there off of Latin hip-hop, it’s a big thing. People who usually go there are more like pop singers. Just to be like an underground artist, to go there, it’s amazing.

What can we expect from your performances at Coachella and your upcoming US tour?

A lot of me sweating [and] jumping around. Maybe jumping into the crowd. Having people jump into the crowd. Just mosh pits. Just trap sh*t. A crazy light show. I always give it my all. My fans don’t expect me to do less, so I got to bring my A-game every day.

Bad Bunny is one of the headliners at Coachella this year. Is there a chance that we could see you two on the stage together?

Hey, you never know in Coachella! You never know.

What do you want to accomplish next?

Just get better at everything I do. Keep on practicing my art. Keep on going to the studio. Keep on writing songs and focus on tours to give my fans a good show.

Melle Mel Believes Ja Rule Tried To “Sound Hard” Like 50 Cent

His sit down with The Art of Dialogue has stirred many Hip Hop pots, and another clip has Melle Mel back in the center of controversy. For decades, there has been a Hip Hop beef that just doesn’t seem to have an end in sight. 50 Cent and Ja Rule have co-existed within the culture without too many dust-ups, but when they arrive, the spats command attention. Whether they’re trading verbal shots or issuing disses in interviews, Fif and Ja remain foes.

Music legend Melle Mel has seen the ebbs and flows of Rap since its inception. The Hip Hop pioneer is quite opinionated about the genre, considering he watched it take shape in real-time, and in his latest interview, he offered a few thoughts about 50 Cent and Ja Rule. He noted that many rappers could be better if they didn’t attempt to emulate their peers. “What is it that you need to say? You could be the n*gga that made a song about a pool party, but you f*cked around and listened to Meek Mill. And you f*cked around and did some dumb sh*t.”

Melle Mel Uses Ja & 50 As An Example

To emphasize his point, Mel mentioned the two warring rappers. “It’s just like when 50 Cent was doing this sh*t. And then when Ja Rule…and that was probably one of his last big records.” He was referencing Ja’s hit classic, “New York.” Melle continued, “If he woulda just made that record a pure New York record, it would have been a way bigger record. But he went the route of trying to sound hard because 50 Cent sound hard. And it was still a good record, but I’m just saying. If he woulda just made it a pure New York record like how Jay-Z did with his New York record. See what I’m saying? If he woulda went along the same lines as that.”

Elsewhere in the clip, Melle Mel discussed how the street life is a detriment to Hip Hop. He argued that “consciousness does have its place in Hip Hop, but everybody is too scared about not being hard. And that’s the destruction of the whole game.” Watch the video of Melle Mel on The Art of Dialogue discussing Hip Hop, 50 Cent, and Ja Rule above.

Melle Mel Says Ja Rule Tried Too Hard To Copy 50 Cent: ‘That’s The Destruction Of The Whole Game’

Melle Mel Calls Nicki Minaj Being Ranked Ahead of Rakim 'Blaspehmy' and 'BS'

Clips from Melle Mel’s recent interview on the Art Of Dialogue podcast have been released and have brought a lot of attention to the legendary rapper. First for saying that Eminem wouldn’t be a top-five rapper if he wasn’t white, and now, for saying that Ja Rule was trying too hard to be 50 Cent.

Melle Mel first talked about how rappers today are trying too hard to sound like other rappers, thus ruining their sound in the process.

“A lot of rappers could be better rappers if they stopped rapping like everybody else,” Mel said. “What is it that you need to say? You could be the n-gga that made a song about a pool party, but you fucked around and listened to Meek Mill and went and you fucked around and did some dumb shit.”

He then compared it to 50 Cent and Ja Rule’s legendary beef, saying that Ja Rule tried to copy 50 Cent’s gangsta sound when he made his record “New York.” “It’s just like when 50 Cent was doing this shit and then when Ja Rule and that was probably one of his last big records.”

Mel continued: “If he woulda just made that record a pure New York record, it would have been a way bigger record. But he went the route of trying to sound hard because 50 Cent sound hard. And it was still a good record but I’m just saying, if he woulda just made it a pure New York record like how Jay-Z did with his New York record. See what I’m saying? If he woulda went along the same lines as that.”

“So the point [I’m] saying is that consciousness does have its place in Hip Hop, but everybody is too scared about not being hard. And that’s the destruction of the whole game.”

50 Cent Breaks Down Why He’s “Defensive” When Women Ask Him For Luxury Goods

50 Cent likely isn’t going to buy you a Birkin bag if you ask him. During his recent appearance on Mary J. Blige’s The Wine Down on BET, the rapper detailed his love life, among other things, when he and the singer began to discuss the topic of women. As a wealthy man with plenty of fame, there’s no doubt that he has to vet the women that enter his life. Not just for the sake of compatibility but to protect his assets.

During the episode, Fif told Mary that he gets “defensive” when women ask him to buy them things. Though he could easily splurge of luxury goods at the drop of a dime, he explained that he sees through the intention of women who expect it from him. “I get defensive when a person is trying to… when a woman is asking me for things. Then I’m like, ‘Oh you think I’m a sucker?” 50 Cent said while Mary J Blige burst into laughter.

Intention Matters To 50 Cent

He went on to explain that he’s willing to do that out of the kindness of his heart, but he isn’t here to be someone’s come-up. “Because organically I wanna do those things. Then I’ll start to do those things and it’ll be cool because she’s never asked me for… nothing,” he continued. “But if she comes with those intentions or that idea then it feels like, ‘Wait.’” That’s when Mary J. Blige interjected, saying, “That’s when you could read the energy.”  Fif replied, “Right, cause she came with those intentions.”

50 Cent went on to explain that the women he’s around are a reflection of who he is. The rapper is currently dating Cuban Link, who has been by his side since at least 2019. The couple has become far more public in recent times, as she accompanies him to plenty of red-carpet events for his shows and clowns him on Instagram. Most recently, she caught Fif sliding into the comment section of her Instagram page while they were together at a sports event. Check out the clip above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

50 Cent Interrogates His Dog After It Chews Up His Weights

In his latest Instagram post on March 15th, 50 Cent shows off one of his gym weights. In the post, people can clearly see that the weight has been attacked by a furry animal. No words are spoken in the video, but it quickly becomes clear to people who may be responsible for the wreckage. As 50 cent pans his camera, his dog can be seen in the background. The Pink Panther theme song can be heard in the video. Despite the obvious evidence, 50 Cent starts a short investigation.

As the rapper approaches his dog, the canine doesn’t bother to even inspect the object by sniffing. Instead, he turns his head away from the crime scene. The reluctance to even look at the weight shows obvious signs of guilt from the dog. However, the poor puppy has currently not admitted to his actions. Despite his ruined gym equipment, 50 Cent can’t help but find the situation humorous. In his Instagram post, 50 Cent writes, “Yo. Look how he look away LOL he know what he did.”

50 Cent Gets To The Bottom Of The Crime Scene

However, despite the overwhelming evidence against him, many fans are in support of 50 Cent’s dog. Some are claiming that the dog is simply looking around to see who really did it. Others are suggesting that his pet was just trying to help the rapper workout by getting rid of some excess ounces on the weight. Regardless of whether or not the dog is guilty, it’s clearly impossible for anyone to stay mad at him. More than likely, his pet was simply excited to join his owner in his fitness plan.

The consumption of the gym equipment clearly came as a shock to the musician. The idea of being able to chew through something so tough is hard to wrap your head around. But from the dog’s on-screen appearance, it looks to be a Rottweiler breed. These breeds are known for their strength and toughness, which is fitting for the musician’s brand. But the tough exterior seems to fall flat on its face when it comes to reprimanding his dog. Check back in to see if 50 Cent is able to find the perpetrator of his ruined gym weights.

Petty King 50 Cent Goes After An Embezzler’s House After Winning A Lawsuit Against Him

Last year, 50 Cent said he’s spent over $20 million in legal fees since 2003. So you’ll forgive him for being a little petty anytime he gets a win. If you spent over a million bucks a year fighting court cases for twenty years, you’d probably want a little payback too.

In one of his most recent cases, 50 sued and defeated a former employee of his Sire Spirits company after the man embezzled over $2 million from it. While working for 50, Mitchell Green had reportedly sold $150 bottles of Le Chemin du Roi champagne to wholesalers at inflated prices, then pocketed the extra under the guise of “agency fees.”

Of course, 50 has never been one to take any slight lying down, so he sued Green (after firing him, of course) in 2021, winning $6,194,293 including interest, attorney’s fees, and arbitrator compensation in an October judgment. Green tried to have the award vacated last June, failed, and the court added $89,305.50 in attorney’s fees last November.

Earlier this month, 50 was granted permission to seize Green’s properties as compensation, including his home, cars, and various bank accounts. On Instagram, he gleefully encouraged Green to vacate while detailing some devious plans for the place. “I think i’m gonna put Epoxy floors in this place,” he wrote. “I’m gonna keep it and his family pictures around, you know as a theme for the place. LOL.” Again: Do not mess with 50.

And while he’s got this victory under his belt, he’s still got a few more legal issues under dispute. He recently settled a lawsuit with The Shade Room over penis enlargement claims — although he’s continuing his suit against the surgeon who originated them — and he’s currently mixing it up with rival liquor brand Remy Martin. At least he’s got money coming in to help him fight those cases.

50 Cent Trolls Former Staffer Who Owes Him $6Mil In Embezzlement Scheme

We’re not sure where Teairra Mari’s debt with 50 Cent stands, but he’s ready to collect from a former employee. By now, the world knows that 50 Cent doesn’t play games regarding finances. Over the years, Fif has called out his peers and collaborators for not making good on loans or debts, and Teairra Mari felt his wrath. The two artists waged a war of words on social media years ago, and while the conflict’s conclusion is unclear, Fif is now targeting an embezzler.

The Power mogul also recently scored a major victory in court against a former employee named Mitchell Green. He is accused of embezzling upwards of $2 million while acting as Le Chemin du Roi’s director of brand management. A court sided with Fif, even rejecting Green’s appeal and adding $90K to his already outstanding $6 million judgment. Additionally, if Green decides not to hand over the cash, 50 Cent would have full authority to seize his properties and assets.

50 Cent Is Coming For Green’s Home

Fif addressed this controversy the way he does most of his scandals: on social media. He shared a screenshot of an article about the case, and it looks like he already has plans to redecorate Green’s property. “I think i’m gonna put Epoxy floors in this place,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m gonna keep it and his family pictures around, you know as a theme for the place. LOL.”

Although Green hasn’t publicly issued statements about the suit, much was revealed in court documents. He’s accused of skimping money from the champagne brand and pocketing cash after up-charging wholesalers. Further, he reportedly told them that they had to pay additional agency fees that didn’t exist. It is unclear what Green’s next moves are, but 50 Cent hopes they’re to the bank.

Ready To Collect

This isn’t the first time 50 Cent trolled Mitchell Green about this controversy. Earlier this month, when a report surfaced about the case, he issued a pointed message to his former staffer. “Look i’m a need that by Monday! 🤨,” he wrote in the caption to a social media post. No word on if he’s begun to collect, but we’re sure this isn’t the last time 50 Cent will share his thoughts about this debt.

50 Cent Visits The Pacers In Their Locker Room

50 Cent is one of the best businessmen in the entire hip-hop world. Overall, he has made hundreds of millions of dollars thanks to his investments. Furthermore, he is always looking to expand his empire. Whether it be through television shows or alcohol brands, Fif knows exactly what he is doing. These days, 50 has been jonesing to get in on some NBA ownership. There are plenty of teams out there looking to add to their ownership groups, and Fif is definitely someone who could bring a lot to the table.

In fact, 50 Cent is already partnered with at least one NBA team. Although this is not in an ownership role, the artist is certainly embedded within the league. This is all thanks to a strategic partnership with the Indiana Pacers. Fif’s Sire Spirits brand is currently being sold at Pacers games. As a result, 50 Cent can oftentimes be seen at Pacers games. In fact, earlier this week, he went to a game in Indianapolis that was also being attended by Will Ferrell.

50 Cent Speaks

On Thursday night, however, 50 was back in the building. As it turns out, he got to see an incredible game against the Houston Rockets, which eventually went to overtime. Overall, the Pacers were able to take over in the final minutes of the match. This led to a huge victory that certainly gave the team some morale. Subsequently, Fif went into the Pacers locker room where he spoke to the players and offered some amazing words of encouragement. Everyone seemed happy to have him there, and it is certainly not the first time he has been welcomed into their space.

If the Pacers are ever for sale and they need a buyer, 50 Cent could prove to be a trusted name in that process. For now, however, the artist is simply happy to have his products sold at the games. It is a partnership that benefits everyone. Moreover, the players get to see a legend at their games on a regular basis. Stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest news and updates from around the sports world.
