Lil Tjay Appears To Shade Gunna On Instagram

Gunna’s reign continues, even after he copped a plea deal that led the hip-hop community to shun him. While fans have undoubtedly welcomed Wunna back with open arms after the release of A Gift & A Curse, it seems his peers in hip-hop still aren’t willing to show him the same kind of love. Lil Tjay, for example, threw shade at the Atlanta rapper this weekend shortly after releasing his new album, 222. Tjay hit the ‘Gram with a screenshot of the Apple Music Top Albums charts where his project sits at #5.

However, in the spot right about Lil Tjay at #4 is Gunna’s new project. Still, the Bronx artist wasn’t going to give the “f*kumean” rapper any more promo. Tjay effectively covered Gunna’s album artwork with a shushing face emoji, which seemingly looks like a shot at the Atlanta artist. It seems a bit unnecessary overall but it’s clear that many hip-hop artists feel as though there isn’t any way to play a neutral position in the public eye.

Lil Tjay’s 222 Nearly Rivals Gunna’s Album

Lil Tjay certainly isn’t the only rapper who has expressed their issues with Gunna in recent times. Lil Durk, for example, has been quite outspoken about his feelings regarding his “What Happened To Virgil?” collaborator. The rapper spoke to Akademiks about the situation, claiming that he felt like Gunna should’ve simply sat down and done his time. “That man told,” he stated. “You should’ve went in there and kept your mouth closed.”

Tjay’s new album marks a triumphant return in his career. The Bronx rapper was shot 7 times last year and later rushed to the hospital where he underwent surgery. Lil Tjay revealed that he almost died during the incident but fortunately, was brought back to good health and went through rigid recovery. “I feel like I’m back where I needed to be,” he told TMZ at his album release party. “I’m back to the best of my ability and I want to take this as far as possible.”

Lil Tjay Unveils “222” Tracklist

Amid a slew of new releases and what’s shaping up to be a hot new hip-hop summer, Lil Tjay is throwing his hat into the ring at the top. Moreover, his next and very anticipated project, which has been two years in the making, is 222, and it drops on Friday (July 14). Not only that, but today he released a new single for the project, “Project Walls,” featuring none other than NBA YoungBoy. With this hype in mind, the New York rapper added another layer to it by revealing the album’s tracklist and features, as well. Furthermore, his first album since his near-fatal 2022 shooting is shaping up to be an impactful return statement with some big names.

In addition to YB, there are plenty of other features here to talk about, including ones that may seem like surprises to non-fans. For one, the legendary Jadakiss shows up on the track “Hole In My Heart,” which will surely make for one of the cuts people look forward to the most. In addition, the cut “Bla Bla” features Fivio Foreign, so there’s probably another NYC drill banger on the way. Also, Summer Walker, The Kid LAROI, Coco Jones, and Polo G make appearances across Lil Tjay’s 222, which contains 15 tracks.

Lil Tjay’s 222‘s Tracklist

Considering that a lot of people like to complain about long trackless these days, 222 is looking like a concise and tight offering. That being said, Lil Tjay has done so much in these past few years despite his circumstances that one wouldn’t be surprised if he fits 30 tracks of his experiences. Of course, that’s translated a little more into luxury as the 22-year-old developed his career. For example, he recently had a fantastic time at Paris Fashion Week, popping up seemingly everywhere.

Meanwhile, Tjay’s last project, Destined 2 Win, came out two years ago, so fans have been waiting for a while. He recovered well after his shooting, traveled the world, and pleased fans everywhere with great performances and other singles. Now, they wait to see what he brought to the table after some long reflection and healing. For more news and the latest updates on Lil Tjay, stay logged into HNHH.
