Bill Belichick Made A Draft Day Trade For A Hilarious Reason

The 2023 NFL Draft set a record for the most number of trades in a single draft. However, among the flurry of first-round trades, the Patriots made a small but unusual swap. Initially drafting at #14, New England dropped back three places in a trade with the Steelers. The Steelers also sent a 2023 fourth-round pick to New England.

The Steelers took Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones with the 14th pick. The Patriots nabbed Oregon corner Christian Gonzalez with the 17th and Maryland kicker Chad Ryland in the fourth round. However, people thought that the Steelers got off lightly in terms of draft compensation to move up in the first. Turns out they did, simply because Bill Belichick hates the New York Jets.

Belichick Gave Steelers An Easy Trade To “Fuck The Jets”

The New York Jets went into the 2023 NFL Draft needing help protecting Aaron Rodgers. However, sitting at #15 with little draft capital, they could only watch as the top o-line prospects were drafted. However, as the clock on the Patriots’ #14 pick began, there were a handful of high-quality o-line prospects still on the board. The Pats could have taken an o-lineman here but Bill Belichick loves a cornerback. And then the Pats traded back three spots and the Steelers took an o-lineman. Turns out, Belichick literally did it to fuck over the Jets.

“They should have had to give up a [third-round pick] and not a four to move up there,” one NFL general manager said anonymously to The Washington Post. “Belichick did it just to fuck the Jets. He sold low because he knew the Steelers were going to take the kid the Jets wanted to take.” Belichick has a lot of history with the Jets, both within their organization and facing them as a division rival. Moreover, Belichick could have taken Jones himself, but to him, it was even funnier to watch the Jets lose out of their prospect of choice to someone else entirely. Deion Sanders Blasts NFL For Lack Of HBCU Rep In Draft

Deion Sanders helped put an HBCU school on the map. As head coach of the Jackson State football program, Sanders’ squad lost just six games over three seasons. That included two perfect seasons in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Additionally, Jackson went 12-1 in the 2022 season, only losing in the postseason Celebration Bowl.

Sanders left Jackson State at the end of the 2022 season to take the vacant job at Colorado. He brought many of his star players with him and has transformed the program there. He has put Colorado back on the map, even if the program is seeing massive player turnover. The school’s spring game sold out for the first time ever. One the flip side, 20 players entered the portal right after the game. It’s a wild time in Colorado. However, Sanders was not happy with the treatment HBCUs got at the 2023 NFL Draft. He took to Twitter to force his frustrations.

Sanders Calls Out 31 NFL Teams

HBCUs are often overlooked on draft day. Just 12 players from such schools were picked between 2016 and 2021. Four went in the 2022 draft. Furthermore, that number dropped to just one over the course of the 2023 draft. The lone HBCU representative in 2023 was Jackson State cornerback and kick returner, Isaiah Bolden. Bolden was selected 245th overall by the New England Patriots, just 14 picks before the end of the draft. Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that he was a Coach Prime alum.

Posting to Twitter, Sanders made his thoughts on the lack of HBCU rep very clear. “So proud is you @isaiahbolden23 You deserved to be drafted much higher but I’m truly proud of u. I know how much u want this. I’m ashamed of the 31 other @nfl teams that couldn’t find draft value in ALL of the talented HBCU players & we had 3 more draft worthy players at JSU.” However, Sanders’ comments met a lot of backlash from white people who somehow interpreted Sanders’ comments as a call for affirmative action. HBCUs have long had to deal with being viewed as the “second-tier” in both educational standards and sporting prowess. However, it’s an unfair perception and one that Sanders is putting on blast.

Dad Of New NFL Player Grabs Son’s GF’s Ass Live On TV

The pro football dreams of Iowa defensive end Lukas Van Ness came true on Thursday night. The 22-year-old was taken 13th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He is the highest-drafted Hawkeye since Tristan Wirfs went 13th overall in the 2023 Draft. He was seen as one of the top defensive ends in the draft.

Van Ness is a pure physical pass rusher. While his game is going to need some work to give him more versatility at the NFL level, he is going to be an absolute beast of a player in Green Bay. However, his dad has managed to overshadow van Ness’ moment in the spotlight thanks to a viral moment right after his son was drafted.

Dad van Ness Seen Grabbing Son’s GF’s Ass

Van Ness was not present in Kansas City for the draft, instead watching with family in Illinois. The large group of hardy corn-fed Illinoians went wild as van Ness receives the fateful phone call. His girlfriend, Frankie Kmet (white romper, brown hair) kisses her boyfriend on the cheek before getting up to hug Lukas’ dad, Jason. Kmet is the sister of NFL tight end Cole Kmet, who currently plays for the Chicago Bears. Their other brother, Casey, plays baseball at Notre Dame. Frankie is well known for her gorgeous appearance and Instagram presence. She and van Ness have reportedly been an item since last year.

Jason hugs his son’s girlfriend and then sends her back to the couch where Lukas is sat with a little double-tap on the ass. A completely forgettable and innocuous moment…if it hadn’t happened on live television. Social media went absolutely crazy over the moment as the draft continued. This had been preceded by confusion about all the women surrounding van Ness because apparently, people on Twitter don’t know what a family is. None of the parties involved have spoken out about the incident, because why would they? However, it is an evergreen reminder that the NFL Draft is the best place to be for weird moments. Congratulations to Lukas on being drafted and we wish him all the best in Green Bay.

NFL Shocked As Will Levis Isn’t Drafted In First Round

Will Levis has been an underrated quarterback for most of his college career. The Kentucky Wildcats are long removed from their days as a football school. Today, they are better known as basketball royalty. But the team experienced a resurgence with Levis at the helm.

Levis joined the Wildcats in 2021, having spent the first two years as a backup to Sean Clifford at Penn State. There he got the opportunity to show off his cannon for an arm and his ability to read the field like a pro. In just two years in Kentucky, he threw for over 5200 yards and 43 touchdowns. As draft season approached, Levis was seen as the #3 QB prospect, primarily for his pro readiness and throwing ability. A rumor even emerged that he would go first overall. But the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft has come and gone without Levis hearing his name.

Levis Shockingly Still On The Board On Day Two

It was a long night for Levis and his girlfriend, Gia Duddy. The pair was on-site in Kansas City as Levis was expected to be taken in the first 31 picks. In fact, Levis was widely considered to go in the top ten. But Levis’ name wasn’t called. Three other QBs joined new teams but the Wildcat was agonizingly kept in his cage. However, he was widely praised for maintaining his composure. 2022 fourth-overall pick Sauce Gardner tweeted, “Will Levis… God makes no mistakes. You will be great.”

However, that means that Levis is the best player left on the board. There are other top talents still available, like Notre Dame TE Michael Mayer and Penn State CB Joey Porter Jr., but Levis is the best player available. However, he is only appealing to teams who need a starting or future starting QB. So where could he go? Not to jinx him again, but Levis should go in the first ten picks of Round 2. The Lions, Rams, Seahawks, and Raiders all pick and could nab the QB. If he falls any further than that, the Saints, Titans, and possibly even the Falcons could be in line for an absolute steal of a pick. Unless scouts have seen something the public hasn’t, the absolute lowest he will likely fall is 50th overall to the Buccaneers. Follow every moment of the draft here at HotNewHipHop.

2023 NFL Draft Delivered Wildest First Round In Years

The 2023 NFL Draft got underway on Thursday night at Union Station in Kansas City. Starting proceedings at 8pm EDT, 31 players would be announced in the opening round. Fans in Kansas City could then stick around for a Fall Out Boy concert.

Things were already crazy before the draft began. The Chicago Bears had traded the first overall pick to the Carolina Panthers. That only left the question of which quarterback prospect the Panthers would take. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens announced on draft day that they had signed quarterback Lamar Jackson to a 5-year extension. That ruled out a potential trade involving him. But nothing could have prepared us for just how wild the first round would end up being.

Multiple Trades And Shock Picks Dominate NFL Draft

With the first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers selected…Bryce Young. The mock draft consensus proved right as the Panthers took the Alabama star to be their anchor at QB. Minutes later, the Houston Texans surprised no one when they took Ohio State quarterback second overall. And that was pretty much the end of normalcy in the draft. The Texans immediately traded up to #3 so they could edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. The Colts then took Florida QB Anthony Richardson, in what had been called a “consensus decision” pre-draft. The Seahawks went cornerback at five before we got another trade at six. The Cardinals, who had traded down to #12 from #3, traded back up to #6 in a deal with the Lions. They used the pick to take Ohio State O-Lineman Paris Johnson Jr.

We’re still not done as the first round saw not one, but two running backs drafted in the top half of the first round. It’s the first time since 2017 that two running backs have gone in the first sixteen picks. Those players were Bijan Robinson (#8 to the Falcons) and, more shockingly, Jahmyr Gibbs (#12 to the Lions). Gibbs was projected as a late first/early second-round pick. The playoff picks (#20 and beyond) opened with four straight wide receivers. However, the biggest shock of the draft was that after 31 picks, only three QBs had been taken. That leaves Kentucky’s Will Levis as the top player on the board going into day two. Be sure to check back with HotNewHipHop for all the biggest draft stories and reactions.

Major Trade Expected At NFL Draft

It is finally draft night in the NFL. The league has converged on Kansas City for the annual selection of new players. Overall, 259 players will be selected over the next three days by the league’s 32 teams. It’s the moment that fans have been waiting for for months now.

However, the draft order is far from certain. The Carolina Panthers have already traded up to the first-overall pick while the Jets and Packers swapped their picks in the middle of the first in the Aaron Rodgers trade. However, even as the start of the draft draws closer and closer, there are still rumblings that more trades are in the works. These rumors span the entirety of the first round, from #2 to #25.

All Major Draft Trade Rumors

Let’s begin with what won’t happen. In the past hour, the Baltimore Ravens have signed quarterback Lamar Jackson to a five-year deal. That all but takes Jackson off the table, unless the Ravens are about to pull the craziest sign-and-trade in league history. However, a pick that is expected to move is the #3 pick, currently held by the Arizona Cardinals. Earlier in the offseason, there were as many as six teams inquiring about the pick. Any number of QB-hungry teams could look to snag one of the top signal callers. That could still be a trade by the Ravens, however, who has been linked to Cardinals wide receiver De’Andre Hopkins.

The New York Giants are also rumored to be looking to trade up from their current spot of 25. Also looking to move up is the Eagles, who hold the 10th pick despite their Super Bowl run last season. According to Pro Football Network, the Eagles could trade up to snag an elite pass rusher. Furthermore, people are expecting movement from the Texans, be it at their second or twelfth overall pick. The Titans could also make moves, with an ESPN report suggesting the Titans will “do anything” to get their personal favorite QB. HotNewHipHop is going to have plenty of draft coverage tonight and onwards, so don’t go anyway. Round 1 kicks off tonight at 8pm EDT.

Warren Moon Picks His Favorite 2023 QB Prospect

Warren Moon is an underrated NFL legend. He went undrafted in 1978 after an unspectacular college career with the Washington Huskies. So Moon went to Canada, where he became a five-time champion and two-time MVP. That led to a move back to the US in 1984, joining the Houston Oilers. After nine seasons in Texas, Moon bounced between the Vikings, Seahawks, and Chiefs before retiring in 2000. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2006. However, he also holds the honor of being the only player to be elected to both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.

So if there’s anyone who can evaluate quarterbacks, and especially look past the flashier stuff to see the true player, it’s Moon. He recently sat down with TMZ to discuss his pick for the top quarterback in the 2023 NFL Draft, which begins tonight.

Moon Backs Alabama’s Bryce Young

The battle for the number one pick has come to a pool of four players. Unless the Carolina Panthers are about the shock the NFL, they are going to take a quarterback. The frontrunners in that race are C.J. Stroud (Ohio State) and Bryce Young (Alabama). However, there is also the possibility that Carolina take Anthony Richardson (Florida). Richardson wowed at the NFL combine and has an incredibly high ceiling, but minimal (and fairly underwhelming) college experience. There is also Will Levis (Kentucky), who has lept into first-pick consideration thanks to an anonymous Reddit post earlier this week.

In Moon’s mind, there is a quarterback who stands out, although it’s not clear-cut. “For me, it’s Bryce Young,” Moon said, “C.J. Stroud is right there but I love Young and the way he plays. The only big negative on him is his size, that’s what everyone’s concerned about. But his instincts, his leadership ability, his playmaking ability, he’s the guy I’ve really enjoyed watching the last couple of years.” Moon continued. Young is also the consensus top pick among draft experts. Only a handful of expert mock drafts have the Panthers taking anyone else. The 2023 NFL Draft gets underway at 8pm EDT on April 27. Be sure to check HotNewHipHop for reactions and the biggest stories out of the draft.

2023 NFL Draft: How To Watch, Draft Order, First Overall

The 2023 NFL Draft is a little over 24 hours away. Starting at 8pm EDT on April 27, the NFL’s 32 teams will pick their talent of the future. HotNewHipHop has got everything you need to know, such as how to watch and whose picking when, before the draft gets underway.

How To Watch The NFL Draft

There are a number of ways you can watch the 2023 NFL Draft. Firstly, the NFL Draft will be available on The NFL Network, ABC, ESPN, and ESPN Deportes. Additionally, you can use services such as Sling TV, Hulu+, Fubo TV, DirecTV, and YouTube TV to catch the draft. Furthermore, if you are in Kansas City, Missouri, the Draft is happening live outside Union Station. Consequently, access to the draft and the surrounding festivities is free.

What Is The NFL Draft Order

The Carolina Panthers hold the #1 overall pick, having traded with the Chicago Bears to acquire it. Additionally, they will be followed by the Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, and Seattle Seahawks. Furthermore, the top ten is rounded out by picks from the Detroit Lions, Oakland Raiders, Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, and Philadelphia Eagles. However, there are only 31 picks in the first round because the Miami Dolphins lost their pick as punishment for tampering. Meanwhile, the rest of the first round is as follows:

Pick 11: Tennessee Titans

Pick 12: Houston Texans

Pick 13: Green Bay Packers

Pick 14: New England Patriots

Pick 15: New York Jets

Pick 16: Washington Commanders

Pick 17: Pittsburgh Steelers

Pick 18: Detroit Lions

Pick 19: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Pick 20: Seattle Seahawks

Pick 21: Los Angeles Chargers

Pick 22: Baltimore Ravens

Pick 23: Minnesota Vikings

Pick 24: Jacksonville Jaguars

Pick 25: New York Giants

Pick 26: Dallas Cowboys

Pick 27: Buffalo Bills

Pick 28: Cincinnati Bengals

Pick 29: New Orleans Saints

Pick 30: Philadelphia Eagles

Pick 31: Kansas City Chiefs

Who Will Be The Number One Pick

That’s a great question. Experts are pretty confident that the Carolina Panthers will select a quarterback first overall. However, the question remains as to which one. Currently, there are four quarterbacks in the first overall conversation – Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud and Alabama’s Bryce Young are the favorites. However, Kentucky’s Will Levis and Florida’s Anthony Richardson could also go first overall.

Overall, be sure to follow HotNewHipHop for all our draft coverage. Additionally, be sure to check back on Friday and Saturday for all the biggest draft stories and reactions.

Bijan Robinson Continues To See Draft Stock Rise

There’s an unwritten rule in the NFL Draft – don’t draft a running back in the first round. This came about for a few different reasons. Firstly, there was the move towards the passing game as well as the evolution of the modern “dual threat” quarterback. Why burn a first-round pick on a running back when you can take a Lamar Jackson? Secondly, with a plethora of strong collegiate running talent, teams can wait on running back and still pick up an elite player. Dalvin Cook, Miles Sanders, and Jonathan Taylor were all second-round picks.

In the last five drafts, there have been seven first-round running back selections. All but one (Saquon Barkley) were made at the 20th pick or later. They have combined for five Pro Bowls and three Super Bowl rings (one for Clyde Edwards-Helaire, two for Sony Michel). However, there is a prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft who might be about obliterate the league’s under-appreciation for the running back position.

Bijan Robinson Is A Blue Chip Running Back

Let’s talk numbers first and foremost. Robinson rushed for 3410 yards and 33 touchdowns in three seasons and 31 games at Texas. He also added 805 receiving yards and 8 receiving touchdowns during his career. That gives him a college career average yards from scrimmage of 7.0. His best trait is his elusiveness, possessing an uncanny ability to disappear under a mass of defenders and appear 40 yards upfield seconds later. By comparison, Saquon Barkley had rushed for 3843 yards and 43 touchdowns in his three seasons at Penn State. Bijan showed out at the NFL Combine, posting a 4.46-second 40-yard dash.

So where is Bijan going to go? Among draft experts, it’s a foregone conclusion that he is a first-round pick. The question is how long will he have to wait. The Ringer has him going at #8 to the Falcons. He is also projected to the Falcons in the SB Nation Community Draft. Pro Football Focus has him falling all the way to the Chargers at #21. Meanwhile, the NFL’s Maurice Jones sees him going at #10 to the Eagles. Despite his elite status, it’s safe to say we know how much NFL teams respect Robinson until his name is called.
