All the while, the series kept the comedic moments coming, through witty dialogues and relatable situations. Girlfriends was particularly notable for portraying African American women in leading roles.

Overall, the Girlfriends TV show remains a cultural phenomenon and is highly reminiscent of the iconic series, Living Single. Despite being canceled after eight seasons in 2008, it remains a memorable part of 2000s television. It’s been 15 years since the show’s untimely end, and the stars have since moved on to other things. Besides the main cast’s reunion on the Black-ish episode “Feminisn’t,” here’s what the case of Girlfriends has been up to.

Tracee Ellis Ross (Joan Carol Clayton)

Elsewhere in the room, Boosie has a large painting of himself when he was rocking his gold teeth. “I just love this painting,” he explained. “It reminds me of the struggle.” The room also features a fireplace that’s level with the bathtub in the next room, allowing him to peak at female visitors while he’s bathing. He shared that the bathtub in question was actually inspired by Scarface, pointing out another neon sign which reads “The World Is Mine.”

Next up, Boosie flexed his gold-plated toilets, and some TVs built into the bathroom mirror. The Chicago-born performer revealed that he was exposed to gang culture at an extremely young age, even repping BD as a toddler. Lil Reese says older guys from his neighborhood had him throwing gang signs at as early as 3 years old.

“They looked at me like I was [their] son,” he described. “They used to make me shoot dice, all type of sh*t. For real.” He even started smoking weed in elementary school, sharing that he “hit the blunt” at only age 10. “My mom and them didn’t know though, like I was sneaking and doing that sh*t.” Though he was exposed to that as a child, Lil Reese claims that he doesn’t want his own kids to have the same experience. “I ain’t gonna let my son do no sh*t like that though,” he explained.
