Let’s Enjoy Some Of The Most Adorable Pets In The Music Industry

Lady Gaga recently had to endure a pet owner’s worst nightmare: Her dog walker was shot and two of her beloved dogs were kidnapped. Fortunately, in a matter of days, the dogs were recovered and everything was in its right place. Gaga offered a $500,000 reward for whoever brought the dogs back, which just goes to show how much some people care about their pets. That got us thinking about other famous artists and their four-legged friends who we see pop up from time to time on social media and whatnot.

We’ve rounded up a handful of my favorites below, but this is by no means a comprehensive list of celebrity pets, so our sincerest apologies if your preferred artist’s furry/scaly/otherwise textured friend isn’t included. Now, if you’re recently found yourself asking, ‘Who’s a good boy,’ you can find some answers to that question below.

Coco, Toulouse, Cinnamon, Strauss, Lafayette, Pignoli, Myron, Snape, Lily, and Piggy Smallz (owned by Ariana Grande)

Grande’s dogs make social media appearances pretty often, but fans may not realize just how many puppers she actually has: According to Ariana Grande Wiki (which is surely the authoritative source on such matters), she currently owns nine dogs. That’s enough for 5-on-5 basketball if they let Grande’s pig Piggy Smallz play. As if that wasn’t enough, Grande is also working on an animal rescue center in Los Angeles, which indicates that she is perhaps the best friend to animals in the biz.

Lavender (owned by Dylan Baldi of Cloud Nothings and Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz and Sad13)

Towards the end of last year, indie-rock power couple Baldi and Dupuis decided to adopt Lavender, a pitbull with atypical facial features. In a recent interview with MTV News, Baldi said of Lavender, “She’s a one-of-a-kind dog. People will just stop and be like, ‘Look at this dog,’ and want to be with this dog in a way like no other dog I’ve seen. It’s like having a rare Pokémon.” He doubled down on his admiration of the unique pet with a Twitter follow-up: “if we did a tour, charged $50 for tickets, and all that happened was this dog came out onstage and walked around for a bit? you would still feel like you spent $50 correctly. incredible dog.”

Trappy S. Goyard (owned by 2 Chainz)

Like other famous pets, Trappy S. Goyard (which is easily the best name on this list) has his own Instagram account. Goyard probably also has a SAG card by now based on all the appearances they’d made. In addition to popping up on 2 Chainz’s Most Expensivest, Goyard also co-starred in the “Grey Area” video from earlier this year, in which Goyard and their human swapped heads.

Calippo and Dorito (owned by Ed Sheeran)

Sheeran stayed mostly out of the public eye during 2020 as he decided to take a break. What he didn’t stop doing, though, was posting about his cats on their dedicated Instagram page, which boasts over 300,000 followers. Calippo and Dorito are doing well, although Dorito could apparently stand to lose a bit of weight: In October, Sheeran shared a photo of the cats accompanied by a note that reads, “Don’t feed the cats!!! Even if Dorito gives you ‘the eyes’… She has a bad tum… naughty puss…”

Shark (owned by Billie Eilish)

About a month ago, Eilish celebrated the first birthday of Shark, the rescue dog she adopted in April. She wrote in a now-unavailable Instagram post, “My sweet rescue baby boy was born a year ago today. You have made my life 1000x better happy birfday little shark.” While the two share a special bond, the journey to today wasn’t without (expensive) complications: In August, Eilish shared that Shark left some unwanted presents in and around some pricey sneakers.

Foe Thee Frenchie (owned by Megan Thee Stallion)

Not many pets win awards, but Megan Thee Stallion’s has: Foe Thee Frenchie (who has nearly half a million Instagram followers and is coming after Trappy S. Goyard’s best-name-of-this-feature crown) was Paper‘s Celebrity Pet Of The Year for 2019. Meg recently shared a progress pic showing off how much Foe has grown over the course of five months, and understandably, in the more recent photo, Meg has a hard time carrying her increasingly large pet.

Alf (owned by Hayley Williams)

Hayley Williams’ dog Alf has been an important figure in her life and has helped her through some difficult times. She told EW, “I got Alf when he was, like, 11 weeks old. I raised him, but I feel like he raised me. I was 23 or 24 when I got him. He keeps me present because he’s present all the time: He’s so happy and very in tune with me when I’ve gone through life-altering changes or moments.”

On “Cinnamon,” from the 2020 album Petals For Armor, Williams sings, “On the walls of my home / There are signs that I’m alone / I keep on every light / Talk to my dog, he don’t mind.” She explained that lyric to Pitchfork, saying, “He was my first therapist. And he’s still my favorite therapist.” Around this time last year, she also told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, “My dog is the reason I’m alive, because he would’ve been waiting on me to get home, no matter what. You know how little sweet little puppies sit and they wait? I couldn’t think about it.”

Georgia (owned by Tegan Quin of Tegan And Sara)

Dogs dominated Tegan And Sara’s “100x” video from 2016, and recently, Tegan got a pup of her own, named Georgia. Since then, she has documented the joys and struggles of raising a dog and there have been plenty of both. In November 2020, she tweeted, “Is there an umbrella for people who have a new puppy and have to take it out to pee 700 times a day and need both hands to pick up poo? *must cover human and dog.” While a lot of her Georgia tweets are scatological, there’s clearly a ton of love there and Georgia has essentially become Tegan’s everything. She tweeted in December, “All I dream about is my dog. She’s literally taken over every inch of my life including all dream real estate. It will make ZERO sense that she is in a dream situation, but inevitably she appears regardless. Is this normal?”

Kane Songz (owned by Trey Songz)

Trey Songz goes full method while running his dog’s Instagram account, which is presented entirely from the Frenchton’s perspective. On Father’s Day in 2018, for example, “Kane” posted a photo of him and his father playing basketball and “wrote,” “Happy Father’s day Pops!! Thanks for showing me how to break canine ankles out here in these streets!!” He even did what many others have failed to do when he saw John Cena one time.

Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button (owned by Taylor Swift)

Yes, of course Taylor Swift is on this list. After all, Swift has proven to be perhaps the biggest cat person out there (heck, she portrayed a literal cat person in Cats). Thousands of words could be written about Swift’s cats and her love for them, so for this space, let’s just focus on Benjamin Button, the latest addition to the Swift family. Swift actually decided to adopt the cat on the set of her “Me!” video and described how that came to be, saying on Instagram Live in 2019, “[A cat handler handed me this tiny cat and he just starts purring and […] he looks at me like, ‘You’re my mom, and we’re going to live together.’ I fell in love. I looked at Brendon [Urie] and he’s like, ‘You’re going to get the cat aren’t you?’”

Toosii & 2KBABY Feud Over Drake Claims

North Carolina rapper Toosii has been on a tear as of late, striking gold on a few of his songs and coming up as one of the most impressive melodic rappers of his generation. He has an exciting catalog of music to his name and he’s only getting started. While you would expect an artist in his position to be wildly confident about their journey, some people are taken aback by his recent claims that he feels like “the Drake” from the current batch of new rappers.

“I feel like the Drake of the upcoming artist,” wrote Toosii on Twitter. “That’s tweet not up for debate though i said what i said.”

As you could likely imagine, people were a little shocked at Toosii’s claim. After his message was posted on DJ Akademiks’ popular blog account, Louisville rapper 2KBABY spoke up and questioned the claim, commenting thinking emojis. “You disagree?” asked Toosii. “Sh*t I must be Michael Jackson of upcoming artist,” said back 2KBABY, shading Toosii. “Respectfully you not fwm…you hard tho!”

The exchange kicked off some back-and-forth between the two up-and-comers on Twitter, with Toosii saying 2KBABY isn’t even the hottest rapper from his state. “You not even the hottest from kentucky. ain’t rubi rose from there?” he asked. “Hmmm how you figure??? Where you from again??? You not even the hottest in your house,” hit back 2KBABY. “Go song for song with me please old streets,” taunted Toosii. “Hmmm that one kill your whole catalog and I haven’t even dropped much,” said 2K. “But like I said you hard tho gang just don’t see you fwm.”

Toosii ended the battle by calling 2KBABY’s new song with Marshmello “kids bop ass music”.

What do you make of this beef?

Baker Mayfield Recounts Alien Encounter

Baker Mayfield has always been a bit of an eccentric guy, and he’s never been shy to showcase his personality for everyone to see. The Cleveland Browns QB has been one of the more prominent figures in the league as of late, and if something is on his mind, you can be sure that he is going to share it.

On Thursday morning, Mayfield decided to surprise his fans by recounting an interesting event he got to witness alongside his wife. As Mayfield outlines in the tweet below, the quarterback and his significant other actually saw a UFO while coming home from dinner. Mayfield explains the story in great detail, and he seems confident in what he saw.

“Almost 100%, Em and I just saw a UFO drop straight out of the sky on our way home from dinner,” Mayfield said. “We stopped and looked at each other and asked if either of us saw it… Very bright ball of light going straight down out of the sky towards Lake Travis. Anybody else witness this?”

Immediately following this admission, many fans were sketched out by what Mayfield said as there were quite a few people who simply didn’t believe him. The existence of aliens is something that has always been highly debated and more often than not, these UFOs are nothing more than illusions or helicopters with bizarre lighting.

Either way, it would certainly be cool if the object was, indeed, an alien.

Young M.A Teases New Album With Drill Song Snippet

Young M.A. has been steadily on her grind for a minute, a work ethic that paid off after catching the ear of Eminem. Bringing a laid-back and intimidating swagger to whatever beat Mike Zombie conjures, there are many who would call Young M.A. one of New York City’s best new lyricists, period. Now, the emcee is looking to get the ball rolling on her next endeavor, taking to Instagram to highlight a new banger from her upcoming and untitled album.

From the sound of it, M.A. appears to be embracing the Brooklyn drill style that’s been sweeping the game. Over a wailing synth and some heavy percussion, M.A sets it off with some notably aggressive bars. “I’m Henny’d up, styrofoam, call that bitch my sippy cup,” she raps. “High as shit, pissy drunk, probably fucked my kidneys up / Fendi down, Fendi up.” She pauses, readjusting her approach. “The money calling, hit me up like pick me up, hello / hello baby, I go crazy, no, I go brazy / this a Vetti, no Mercedes / in a forty, I go eighty.”

“I don’t need a wife, I been hoe-ing lately,” she muses, quickening her pace. “Just want the pussy, can’t get to know me baby.” Though she’s not exactly breaking new ground with these bars, M.A never fails to bring character and charisma to whatever instrumental she blesses. Expect plenty more where that came from when her next project surfaces. “Y’all fuck with it?” she inquires, opening the floor to her fans. “Album coming!”

Check out the snippet below, and sound off if you’re here for Young M.A. over a Brooklyn Drill banger.

Mathew Knowles Says Beyoncé & Chloe Bailey Comparisons Are “Insulting”

Dr. Mathew Knowles, father of Beyoncé and Solange, was the guest of Leah A. Henry’s podcast Leah’s Lemonade where he spoke about his latest moves, including his Mathew Knowles IMPACT show. The interview was going well until the very end when Mathew was asked about social media comparisons between Beyoncé and Chloe Bailey of Chloe x Halle. Given Beyoncé’s close connection to the sister duo, many have been comparing Chloe to a young Bey, pitching the singer to potentially play the legendary Queen Bey in any upcoming movies about her.

When the interviewer asked about the comparisons between Chloe and Bey, Mathew was instantly offended by the question. “You’ve got to be kidding me, right? You’re asking me that question?” said Dr. Knowles. “Are you actually serious that you are comparing that young lady to Beyoncé?” When Leah specified that the question was geared more about a potential biopic, Knowles opened up. “Okay, if you’re talking about a movie– not talent-wise. Talent-wise? Are you telling me talent-wise, somebody is an idiot enough to compare her to Beyoncé talent-wise? Are there people saying her talent is equal to Beyonce? They’re idiots. That’s actually insulting to Beyoncé.”

The question derailed the entire hour-long interview, and it forced Mathew to walk out and chastise the interviewer by saying that she never should have asked the question, also correcting her when she referred to him as his first name, asking to be referred to by “Mr. Knowles”. He read some of the live comments coming in, called out the fans who were upset by his Chloe Bailey comments, and abruptly left.

People are upset about Mathew Knowles’ comments, saying that he should not have been so harsh and that it was inappropriate to bash the young artist. While Beyoncé may be his daughter, and he certainly has a right to think that Bey is more talented than Chloe Bailey, his shade toward Chloe was a little uncalled for.

Gucci Mane Reads Classic Literature In MSCHF’s “Project Gucciberg” Deepfake

Just as news surfaced about the eerily realistic Tom Cruise deepfake going viral on TikTok, another public figure has fallen victim to artificial intelligence. MSCHF, the experimental creative brand behind Future’s $46,000 sandals made from deconstructed Hermès Birkin bags, has used deep learning technology to create an incredibly accurate AI version of Gucci Mane‘s voice. And the first thing that they use it for? To read classic literature.

Coined Project Gucciberg, MSCHF’s peculiar new creative endeavor features the AI version of Gucci Mane reading classic literature, from Pride & Prejudice and A Tale of Two Cities to The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Beowulf. In addition to the sonic appeal of combining old English with Gucci Mane’s signature southern drawl, each of the new audiobooks features classic Gucci cover art, remixed to fit the respective book.

MSCHF explains the project by saying, “Gucci Mane is an iconic voice. Project Gutenberg is an archive of famous works of Western literature that have entered the public domain. A great voice plus a great book creates a killer audiobook!”

“We didn’t write the books, and we deepfaked the voice. Is this copyright infringement? Is it identity theft?” The brand continues while touching on the legality of its Gucci Mane-inspired endeavor. “All of the training data (recordings) used to make Project Gucciberg were publicly available on the web. Gucciberg lives in that lovely grey area where everything’s new and anything goes.”

It’s yet to be seen if Gucci Mane is a fan of Project Gucciberg or not, so we’ll have to wait and see whether he finds it humorous or takes any legal action. In the meantime, will you finally be giving some of these classics a shot now that Gucci Mane is reading them?

And with Atlanta currently slated to host the NBA All-Star Weekend and many of the accompanying festivities, a slew of parties and concerts have already been booked and scheduled. In fact, a complete list reveals that many hip-hop heavyweights are looking to get back into the game this coming weekend, a judgment call that may raise some eyebrows.

Tiger Woods Crash: Police Receive Warrant To Search Car’s Black Box

Just a couple of weeks ago, legendary golfer Tiger Woods ended up in a horrific car crash that left him with devastating injuries that will keep him out of the sport for a very long time. These injuries include a shattered ankle and even a compound fracture that forced the golfer to go get surgery. Since the accident, many have wondered what truly happened and how Woods’ car could end up in such a bad state.

According to TMZ, the L.A. County Sheriff now has a search warrant for the car’s black box. For those who don’t know, the black box contains a whole slew of data that will tell you the speeds of the car prior to the crash. Essentially, the cops want to know if Tiger was breaking any laws at the time of the incident.

There is only one offense that Tiger could be guilty of and it would be misdemeanor reckless driving. Because of the severity of the crash, the Sheriff was able to obtain the warrant with ease, as these types of violent accidents are more often than not caused by high speeds.

As it stands, Tiger is on the mend and has been transferred to a new hospital where he will have to undergo rigorous physical therapy. We wish the golfing superstar a speedy recovery, and hopefully, he can get back to the course sooner rather than later.
