Artists have been gearing up this weekend for the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards set to take place tonight at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. While the Recording Academy usually receives a fair amount of flack for their nominations from snubbed artists, this year’s controversy surrounding the events has surely been one for the books. As we’ve covered, The Weeknd has called out the Grammys for glaringly snubbing his wildly successful Blinding Lights project. In addition, Beyoncé, who received the most nominations this year, opted out of performing at the show, and Justin Bieber may not even attend the ceremony because of grievances with the Recording Academy.

That being said, it is set to be an intriguing show. Find out how you can watch the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony, the Red Carpet, and the Main Ceremony below.

LaMarcus Aldridge Gaining Interest From Eastern Conference Team

LaMarcus Aldridge has spent numerous years with the San Antonio Spurs and before that, he was a player on the Portland Trail Blazers. Recently, however, it was revealed that the Spurs and Aldridge would officially be parting ways following their long relationship together. It’s clear that both sides are ready to move on and with Aldridge getting up there in age, he would rather go to a contender where he would have a chance at a title.

According to Hoops Hype, it would seem that the Miami Heat are among the teams interested. In fact, players like Meyers Leonard and Avery Bradley are among those who could be included in a deal for Aldridge.

Per Hoops Hype:

“Miami has also dangled veterans Avery Bradley, Maurice Harkless and Meyers Leonard to match salaries as part of a trade package for San Antonio’s LaMarcus Aldridge, league sources told HoopsHype. The Heat would also have to add another minimum contract such as either Chris Silva or KZ Okpala and draft pick compensation to make a trade worthwhile for San Antonio.”

The NBA trade deadline is taking place in just a few weeks from now which means there is a good chance Aldridge will find a new home sooner rather than later. With this in mind, keep it locked to HNHH for all of the latest updates from around the NBA.

Steph Curry Reveals The Awesome Birthday Gift His Kids Gave Him

Steph Curry is one of the most celebrated shooters in the history of the NBA and when all is said and done, he will probably finish with the most three-pointers made in the history of basketball. Curry has plenty of gas left in the tank and today, he officially turned 33 years old which puts him on the older side of the league. Despite this, Curry is still young at heart and is currently in the midst of vying for a fourth title.

Curry has been spending his big day at home with his family, where his children issued a pretty unique birthday gift. Essentially, they made him go on a scavenger hunt where eventually, he found a pair of his Under Armour Curry 8s, in a special colorway that was designed by his kids.

“My kids came through in the clutch with a nice surprise for the 33rd Bday. Had no clue they knew how to design some shoes, but the scavenger hunt had me all the way confused. Love my unicorn, butterfly, and wolf! Bday Vibes!” Curry wrote.

This colorway looks pretty flashy as it is a mixture of pink and vibrant blue. Overall, it’s a dope-looking sneaker and we’re sure Curry will be wearing these on the court. Perhaps we’ll even see the colorway become an official model that sells on the market. That would be the ultimate tribute to his children.

Breonna Taylor Protests Erupt Across The Country On First Anniversary Of Death

We recently marked the first year of being in lockdown due to COVID-19, which also means we’ve arrived at the anniversary of Breonna Taylor’s death. The 26-year-old suffered fatal gunshot wounds in an exchange of gunfire when Louisville Metro Police Department officers stormed into the home she and her boyfriend Kenneth Walker were inside. Sustaining six gun-shot wounds, the anniversary of her death this Saturday (March 13) reignited protests across the country, namely in Los Angeles, where confrontations between protestors and officers turned tense.

During the Los Angeles demonstrations, two protestors jumped on top of the hood of an LAPD squad car. They then began to pound on the hood of the car before it quickly accelerated, hurling the protestors onto the pavement. The police came to the protest decked out in riot gear as they battled with protestors.

Demonstrations also took place in New York, Seattle, and Louisville, the same city in which Breonna was slain by police. The demonstration in Louisville was led by Tamika Palmer, Breonna’s mom, and began calmly. Tensions arose when protestors began to block roads, with the officers declaring the protest was “unlawful assembly” before forcing the crowd to disperse.

In Seattle, cops grabbed umbrellas held by some of the protestors to push the crowd back as they faced off with the crowd. Several protestors were arrested for various alleged crimes, including obstruction and resisting arrest.

Tamika Palmer has asked the Grand Jury to look at Breonna’s murder to determine if the officers involved had committed homicide, which is something Attorney General Daniel Cameron did not allow in the first Grand Jury case. May Breonna continue to Rest in Power.

Pop Smoke Earns Six Posthumous Platinum Certifications

Even in the afterlife, Pop Smoke’s talent is still being recognized, which has helped him earn an impressive six platinum RIAA certifications for a number of his posthumous hits.

Cardi B Shines A Light On The Independent Black Artists That Were Nominated For The 2021 Grammys

There’s no question that this year’s Grammys are seeing a lot of criticism. Just like in past years, the Recording Academy received plenty of criticism about its nomination process after snubbing artists like The Weeknd and Lil Baby for this year’s show. In fact, the former announced that he would “no longer allow my label to submit my music to the Grammys,” as a result of their failure to nominate him. Other artists, however, have decided to shine a light on the positive things the Grammys did this year, like nominating some independent Black artists. And that’s something Cardi B decided to do in a recent post on Twitter.

The rapper posted a lengthy message that asked fans to recognize and show love to the smaller artists that were nominated this year.

“I do feel that there were some albums, and songs that should have been considered for nominations. Maybe by next year they will get it right,” she said. “However let’s not forget the Grammys nominated soo many independent black artists this year that don’t get the exposure by blogs, magazines and other awards shows like Chika, D Smoke, Royce 5’9, Freddie Gibbs, Jay Electronica, Kaytranada, Brittany Howard, Kykal Kilgore, Ledisi, Jean & Marcus Baylor, Like James, Gregory Porter, Giveon, Ant Clemons, Robert Glasper, Free Nationals & Thundercat, and so much more.”

“It’s frustrating sometimes to work and work on your craft and you feel overlooked because you might not look like others, are not mixxy so you not always around other artists, you rap or sing about different material, you stay out of drama and the media or yet still not as popular,” she added. “However you’re a talented-ass f*ck and one day you wake up and you find out you’re nominated and got a notice from one of the biggest awards show purely cause of your TALENT!”

Cardi concluded her message with a simple, yet very important point. “Soo besides all the bullsh*t let’s not forget to congratulate these artists. This is their moment too and they been working their ass off with no exposure and let’s not overshadow it with feelings cause your favorite might not be on the list. Congrats guys and good luck on the Grammys. You deserve it.”

Lord Apex Delivers Triumphant New Track “Like You Know”

Lord Apex is slowly cementing his name in the underground rap scene, all the way in the UK. His penchant for lo-fi sample-based production is a stark contrast from the current sound that’s dominating airwaves across the pond. However, he’s a student of artists like DOOM and Madlib, which is evident from his lyrical aptitude and his ear for production.

2020’s Supply And Demand with V Don was a new height in his career but he’s keeping the ball rolling with new music this year. On Friday, the rapper returned with his latest single, “Like You Know.” Tackling Angus Luke’s crisp and triumphant production, Lord Apex flexes his lyrical abilities with malleable flows and off-kilter melodies.

James Harden Passed Larry Bird On This All-Time List

James Harden is one of the best scorers in the NBA right now and in the eyes of some fans, he has the potential to become the greatest scorer of all-time. It remains to be seen whether or not this will be the case although, over the past few seasons, he has certainly made an interesting case for himself. Last night, Harden was able to etch himself deeper into the history books, after scoring 24 points in a win against the Detroit Pistons.

With the performance, Harden passed Larry Bird for 34th on the all-time NBA scorers list. While 34th may not seem like a big deal, passing a player like Larry Bird is huge and as it stands, some other big names aren’t very far away. These names include Gary Payton and Clyde Drexler.

Harden’s career total sits at 21,792 points and at 31 years old, he still has plenty of time to get into the top 10. For instance, Carmelo Anthony recently made it up to 11th all-time, and he is only 5,000 points ahead of Harden. With this in mind, it shouldn’t be too difficult for Harden to reach the upper echelon if he keeps up his production.

Harden and the Nets continue to show they are a great pairing and the superstar scorer seemingly has a chance to make it to the NBA Finals this year. If he wins a title, his legacy will only get that much better.
