The Wife Of Nicki Minaj’s Late Father Filed A $150 Million Lawsuit Over His Death

Last month, Nicki Minaj received news that her father was tragically struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident. Robert Maraj was walking at the intersection of Roslyn Rd. and Raff Ave. in Mineola, New York when a white Volvo driven by 70-year-old Charles Polevich hit him. Polevich fled the scene but was arrested a few days later. More than a month after the incident, Robert’s wife has filed a $150 million lawsuit against the 70-year-old.

According to TMZ, the lawsuit was filed by civil rights lawyer Ben Crump and New York-based attorney Paul Napoli. In a tweet, Crump said that Polevich was “not only irresponsible & negligent in hitting Maraj, but was more concerned about running away and hiding than seeking help.” He added, “Polevich’s behavior was criminal, cowardly, and immoral. We will hold him responsible for his reckless actions that led to Robert Maraj’s death!”

Polevich turned himself into Long Island police just days after the hit-and-run incident. According to the cops, after he struck Maraj, he “then exited his vehicle stood over the victim asked him if ‘he was ok,’ walked and returned to his vehicle and fled the scene.” He then drove home while “avoiding intersections and did conceal his vehicle in the detached garage at his residence.”

Upon his arrest, Polevich was charged with two felonies: leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with or suppressing physical evidence. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was freed on a $250,000 bond. Polevich was also ordered to surrender his passport in order to stay in New York state.

Instagram Gallery: Rappers And Their Kids

Pursuing a career in rap comes with the necessity of being in the public eye. Some artists have decided to embrace this aspect of celebrity, bringing their fans further into their life by showcasing not only their studio sessions and the business side of music, but equally showcasing who they are off the clock– their family time and incidentally, their children.

And, a lot of the time, these are the same artists expressing that family, and their children, are the exact reason they keep grinding in the first place.

There’s nothing more heartwarming than seeing a parent’s love for their kids.

Here are some of the cutest photos of rappers with their spawn.

Lil Baby

Lil Baby posed with his oldest son right before he hit the Grammy stage, with a powerful performance dedicated to the Black Lives Matter movement. While he keeps his family’s information private, he loves showing off his beautiful children.

2Eleven & Freddie Gibbs Elevate On “Rich & Gangsta”

West Coast OG 2Eleven has developed a strong relationship with Freddie Gibbs over the years which was clear when the Gary, IN rapper brought him along to the Grammy celebrations last weekend. To end the week, 2Eleven slid through with his latest body of work, Mastermind which includes a heavy presence from Gibbs. Among the many highlights from the project is “Rich & Gangsta,” the second track on Mastermind which brings the two rappers together over exhilarating West Coast production as they detail street warfare. “Reminisce on those Death Row days/ When outta town rappers were scared to come to LA,” reminisces 2Eleven on the first verse. Gibbs opens up with an homage to his Southern influences before performing lyrical acrobatics with spitfire flows that bob and weave through the bassline including a mild shot at Jim Jones and The Game.

Check out their collab below.

Twitter Erupts With Drake Memes After Saweetie Tells Quavo To “Take Care”

Fans noticed Quavo and Saweetie quietly unfollowed each other on Instagram earlier this week, prompting rumors that the couple had called it quits after years of being together. The “Best Friend” rapper then took to Twitter yesterday (March 19) to confirm the news, explaining that she’s “endured too much betrayal” from the Migos rapper to continue on with their relationship. Quavo then took some time to express his disappointment in Saweetie following their breakup, to which the Icy Girl herself simply responded with a “Take Care,” the title of Drake’s memorable 2011 project.

Internet users were quick to get the jokes off from the whole situation. “I had love for you and disappointed you did all that. You are not the woman I thought you were. I wish you nothing but the best,” Quavo wrote to prompt the two-word response from Saweetie.

One user edited Sweetie’s face over the original Take Care album cover, while another joked that the cherry on top would be if Drake and Saweetie collabed on a song together.

Another user wrote, “Drake about to start a bar like “Saweetie telling me to take care, I wonder if she know, she was really my amigo, I know 3 is a crowd and she aint letting me go.” Check out some more jokes below.

“Mrs. Doubtfire” Director Reveals R-Rated Cut Thanks To Robin Williams

Even though legendary actor Robin Williams has passed away, it seems like we could be getting some new material from him sometime soon. Chris Columbus, director of Mrs. Doubtfire, recently revealed that there is plenty of R-rated material thanks to Robin Williams’ raunchy improvised takes. Speculation about extra footage from the 1993 comedy began to circulate a while back when a viral Tweet claimed that there were multiple versions of the film, including PG, PG-13, R, and NC-17.

Columbus said that while this really isn’t true, he and Williams would often do many different takes on set that resulted in some inappropriate and humorous content. “The reality is that there was a deal between Robin and myself, which was, he’ll do one or two, three scripted takes,” he explained. “And then he would say, ‘Then let me play.’ And we would basically go on anywhere between 15 to 22 takes, I think 22 being the most I remember.”

The filmmaker continued, “He would sometimes go into territory that wouldn’t be appropriate for a PG-13 movie, but certainly appropriate and hilariously funny for an R-rated film. I only [previously] used the phrase NC-17 as a joke. There could be no NC-17 version of the movie.”

Columbus also said that with all the extra material, he likely has ‘three or four’ versions of the film. “I would be open to maybe doing a documentary about the making of the film, and enabling people to see certain scenes re-edited in an R-rated version,” he said. Hopefully, someday we’ll be able to see these re-edited scenes.

Beyoncé Sends Flowers Over To Taylor Swift To Congratulate Grammys Wins

Beyoncé and Taylor Swift have an interesting pop cultural history together. If you remember correctly, back in 2009, Kanye West unforgettably interrupted Taylor’s VMA victory speech for Best Female Video, apologizing before proclaiming that, “Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.” There’s no lingering animosity between them, as they’ve both made clear, and their friendship has even blossomed even more since then when they celebrated the “Love Story” singer’s 25th birthday together. The Lemonade artist took some time to send over flowers to congratulate the folklore artist on her Grammys 2021 wins.

“Woke up to flowers from the queen of grace & greatness [Beyoncé] and suddenly it’s the best Friday EVER,” the 31-year-old songstress wrote as a caption of a photo of the bouquet and a handwritten note from the Black Parade artist.

“Taylor, Congratulations on your Grammy,” the note read. “It was great seeing you on Sunday night. Thank you for always being so supportive. Sending love to you and your family. B.”

“Thank you B and congratulations on your epic achievement Sunday night!!” Swift wrote over the photo, returning the favor and congratulating Beyoncé on becoming the most decorate woman in Grammys history after scoring her 28th award over the weekend (Mach 14).

During her acceptance speech, the 39-year-old thanked her children and her husband, Jay-Z, whom she referred to as her “rock.”

“I’ve been working my whole life since 9 years old and I can’t believe this happened. This is such a magical night,” Bey said.

Deshaun Watson Insists He Sought Out Masseuses On IG Because Of COVID

Deshaun Watson has been on the receiving end of what now seems to be dozens of sexual assault allegations over the last week. Watson is currently at 12 official accusers, but 10 more are currently in the process of being interviewed. Attorney Tony Buzbee says he could have up to 22 women bringing forth allegations of sexual misconduct against him. All of the accusers’ stories are reportedly very similar, with all of the women being massage therapists who were assaulted by Watson while performing their services. Many of the women also noted that Watson contacted them through Instagram first, which they found to be strange since he is a pro athlete with dozens of therapists at his disposal.

Deshaun Watson and his team are adamant that he did not sexually assault any of the women bringing forth allegations against him. Watson claims that the only reason why he contacted massage therapists through Instagram is because his usual therapist had to stop treating him due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so he reached out to friends and teammates for recommendations.

Watson is adamant that he never crossed a line with any of the women accusing him, calling their attorney “money-hungry” and refusing to give them a payout. Buzbee, however, insists that he has personally vetted all of the accusers and wants Watson to be held accountable. It seems as though both parties are looking forward to their day in court.
