T.I. & Tiny Cleared In Las Vegas Sexual Assault Investigation: Report

Over the past few months, some heavy allegations against T.I. and Tiny have come to light. The couple has faced multiple accusations of sexual abuse from various women. Last night, it was reported that the LAPD has launched an investigation into the allegations of abuse, rape, and drugging. One of the alleged victims filed a police report against T.I. last month.

The alleged victim, who is identified as Jane Doe, claimed that she met the couple at a nightclub in 2005 and returned to their hotel room with them. She alleged that T.I. gave her a drink before feeling increasingly sick as she found herself naked in the shower and in the bed with T.I. and Tiny.

In April, it was reported that two different women came forward with claims that they trafficked and raped them. Both of the allegations stem from incidents that took place in 2010.

According to TMZ, at least one of the cases from 2010 has been closed. A woman claimed she was drugged and assaulted by the couple after meeting Tiny at the airport. Officials said that the investigation has been closed since the report was filed last month and the incident falls outside of the statute of limitations.

T.I. nor Tiny have issued any statements regarding the recent allegations. We will keep you posted on any more updates.

Rory & Mal Appear To Have A New Podcast On The Way

The downfall of Joe Budden is seemingly underway, kicking off with his rift with his now-former podcast hosts, Rory and Mal. It began after Joe essentially told Rory to take some time off from the “pod” after tension grew on set which Budden claimed to be unaware of. Rory and Mal’s return to the show was short-lived since Joe announced that the former had officially been fired on the episode.

Things have certainly not been working in Joe’s favor ever since but it seems that Rory and Mal are taking their chemistry to form their own podcast. Over the weekend, fans received a taste of what a Rory & Mal podcast can look like after they released an hour-plus long response to Joe Budden. In the episode, they discussed their issues stemming from accounting and credit for building the podcast from the ground.

No one really knew what exactly the two would have in store for the future but it seems that they will be forming their own platform. Mal took to Instagram where he unveiled what appears to be artwork for their own podcast, presumably titled, New Rory & Mal. He didn’t elaborate any further than using an orange and money bag emoji in the caption.

We’ll keep you posted on any more updates on the first episode of their podcast. Will you be tuning in? Sound off in the comments.

T-Pain Wants To Make You A Drink With His New Book Of Cocktail Recipes

For nearly 15 years now, T-Pain‘s been primarily recognized by his signature hit, “Buy U A Drank(Shawty Snappin’).” The song, which reached the No.1 spot on the Hot 100 in May 2007 and was sampled in T-Pain’s latest single, “I Like Dat” featuring Kehlani, has since seen a recent resurgence thanks to its popularity on TikTok. Therefore, it’s no surprise that it formed the inspiration for T-Pain’s latest endeavor: a book of cocktail recipes, cheekily titled Can I Mix You A Drink?

Written with the input of God Save The Queens author Kathy Iandoli and mixologist Maxwell Britten, the title bills the book as 50 cocktail recipes from T-Pain’s life and career. T-Pain told Billboard, “Years back, I got up with my friend, [author] Kathy Iandoli, and told her I wanted to do some innovative s–t, so this was a concept we had in mind for a while, where I could combine my music with my love of drinking. She and I worked on this for a while, and then we both were busy with other stuff, then we came back together and finished this up.”

Can I Mix You a Drink? is due September 14, 2021, and is available for pre-order in both hardcover and Kindle editions here.

The Roots’ Questlove And Black Thought Are Teaming With Disney Junior For An Animated Short Series

Questlove and Black Thought both keep themselves plenty busy outside of The Roots, and now the pair is teaming up for yet another new endeavor. This time, it’s Rise Up, Sing Out, a series of animated shorts they’re making with Disney Junior.

The series, which is set to premiere later in 2021, will feature music from the pair. Press materials describe the show, “Presenting important concepts around race, racism and social justice for the youngest viewers, the series consists of music-based shorts that are designed to provide an inspiring and empowering message about noticing and celebrating differences and providing a framework for conversation.”

In a joint statement, Questlove and Black Thought said, “It is an honor to work with the Disney Junior team to help create a series of shorts that will empower and uplift the future generations in the way we know best, through music. We hope these shorts will encourage the young audience to recognize and celebrate our differences as human beings while learning the tools to navigate real-world issues of racial injustice.”

Joe D’Ambrosia — senior vice president, Original Programming and general manager, Disney Junior — also said, “We recognize that many kids are experiencing a multitude of feelings around what’s happening in our world today and know that many families are struggling with how to discuss sensitive issues around race. Our goal with these shorts is to open up the conversation and provide families with the tools and knowledge to address these important topics with their preschoolers in an age-appropriate manner through music and relatable kid experiences.”

City Girls Announce “Twerkulator” Single With Artwork

The City Girls have been laying low for some time, at least, when it comes to new music releases. The two have still been heavily in our news, thanks to JT’s much-publicized and scrutinized relationship with Lil Uzi Vert, as well any other general beef being sent their way by various different parties.

Nonetheless, when it comes to their job, that is to say, putting out music, they’ve been keeping fans waiting for almost a year. It was in June 2020 that the duo dropped City on Lock, and with summer fast approaching, it looks like the two are plotting another summer takeover. Since their album, they’ve popped up with intermittent appearances on songs for friends, including fellow Quality Control artist Lakeyah, as well as newcomer BRS Kash’s viral “Throat” record, among a handful of others.

This afternoon, JT and Yung Miami had their names trending on the twitter for all the right reasons too, with their song title quickly becoming a viral topic, perhaps boosted by the loud cover artwork and the immediate theme: twerking.

The artwork, seen below, feature both girls with their heads between their legs, donning similar all-black get-ups and an abnormal amount of long, pink nail-clad hands clasping their legs from the butt down.

The caption is simple enough: “It’s Time for the Twerkulator.” Indeed.

Are you excited for this new record to drop on Friday?

Joe Rogan Critiques Woke Culture & Possible Censorship Of Straight White Men

If you listen to The Joe Rogan Experience, then you know Joe Rogan’s approach when dissecting and discussing any subject matter is generally better-suited to long-format, as both a listener and by-stander, just as much as a participant. That is to say, he’s not one for brief soundbites, but also, he knows all too well how the media cycle works in this era of online publications, and the fact that even if you don’t actively give a “brief soundbite” (because, in reality, who actually talks in brief soundbites?), the internet will find one for you and run with it.

Such is the case with Joe Rogan’s recent podcast episode with fellow stand-up comic, Joe List. Rogan has become more and more a magnet for controversy, it seems, since he transitioned off YouTube and onto Spotify. Perhaps it’s due to the simple fact that he signed an exclusive contract with the streaming giant, reportedly worth $100 million, but it seems like every other day a hot take (or casual statement) from his podcast is going viral for one reason or another. Today, that casual statement in question find Rogan discussing, briefly, the privilege surrounding straight white men as it intersects with woke culture– so as you can imagine, the twitterverse went wild when this clip was spliced.

During Rogan’s two-hour plus convo with Joe List, the two touched on many things, from misleading CDC numbers, Coronavirus, castratos, stand-up comedy/fellow comics, and much more.

As the two talk begin to discuss mid-2000’s comedy films in the first thirty minutes of the episode, including Step-Brothers, Rogan laments how you wouldn’t be able to put out a film like that today– “or if you did, you’d face a tremendous amount of criticism,” he says. From there, things diverge as Joe List mentions the fact that people are receiving their comedy by way of podcast or stand-up these days, rather than film or events, referring to The Oscars as a joke-less entity this past year.

Joe List kicks off the now-viral Joe Rogan twitter clip by stating: “I was listening to a podcast the other day that’s sort of like a mental health podcast, and this lady was telling the host, who was a straight white guy, he was like, ‘I’m learning about privilege’– and he was saying, ‘even my self-deprecating humour is a little offensive because it’s my privilege to do self-deprecating humor because as a straight white male, people assume i’m joking, but other people couldn’t make such jokes, because of whatever history.’ And they were literally discussing, earnestly, how straight white men shouldn’t be funny.”

Joe Rogan replies: “You can never be woke enough. That’s the problem. It keeps going. It keeps going further and further down the line, and if you get to the point where you capitulate, where you agree to all these demands, it will eventually get to ‘straight white men are not allowed to talk,’ because it’s your privilege to express yourself when other people of colour have been silenced through out history. It’ll be, ‘you’re not allowed to go outside’– because so many people have been imprisoned for so many years…It really will get there. It’s that crazy.”

He continues, “We just gotta be nice to each other, man. And there’s a lot of people that are taking advantage of this weirdness in our culture, and then that becomes their thing. Their thing is calling people out for their privilege, calling people out for their position. You know, it’s f*cking crazy times.”

Finally, Rogan adds later before the go on other topics entirely: “When you talk shit if you see something stupid like that, ‘as a straight white man you shouldn’t be self-deprecating,’ b*tch what the f*ck is wrong with you? We’re humans. If you’re a human being you should be able to express yourself, you shouldn’t have to take into all the other people who are not heard, or not expressing themselves currently, or not in the same category, c’mon man, we can’t do that. You’re forcing yourself to think double, triple, about every single f*cking thing you and whether or not you have the right to express yourself.”

By the 36-minute mark, the conversation has basically passed and taken a turn into another directly entirely.

Take a look at some of the most popular twitter reactions to the clipped statement below, and if you want to give the full episode a listen, you can also check that out above.
