Ari Fletcher Seems Uneasy About Her Son Attending G Herbo & Taina’s Baby Shower

Based on the social media person Ari Fletcher has developed for herself, it’s safe to say she’s a very reactive person. The Instagram model and influencer has long been known for her call it like it is attitude, something that has run her into some social media scuffles and controversies in the past. Seemingly unable to bite her tongue this time around, the former girlfriend of G Herbo and mother to their 3-year-old son Yosohn sent out a few cryptic tweets over the weekend aimed at her ex and his current beau Taina Williams.

The couple hosted a boho chic-themed baby shower over the weekend for their soon-to-be bundle of joy where many of their friends and family were in attendance, including Yosohn. After pictures from the event featuring the toddler posing happily alongside Taina and Herb’s family surfaced online, it seemed as though Ari was not rocking with it.

The adorable shots show the blended family rocking matching outfits and wide smiles. Following the surfacing of the photos, Ari penned in a tweet Monday (May 3), “You give a mf a inch they take a mile. Like not too much on my child, relax!” Footage from the event shows Yosohn being embraced by Taina and Herb’s family, something that may have been overwhelming for the youngster.

While speculative, the influencer’s previously expressed disdain towards having her son with Herb around Taina is very telling. Back in November, she vocalized she would rather Taina not hold her son. “Sweetie please don’t post my son and another girl, remove this,” she wrote on a pop culture page on Instagram at the time.

She added that Taina disclosed to her that Yosohn did not like her, which may very well be another reason for the tweet. Ultimately, it does seem to be a case of a momma bear fiercely protecting her cub.

50 Cent Lands Another New Show “Confessions Of A Crime Queen”

Anybody familiar with 50 Cent’s former stint as a hip-hop juggernaut understands that the diamond-selling artist simply stops at nothing to achieve his goal. It’s the reason he’s seen success in whatever endeavor he pursues. Case in point, the past several years have seen him expanding on his already considerable television repertoire, which includes such titles as Power, Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, For Life, and the upcoming BMF.

Today, 50 took a moment to confirm that he’s adding yet another new series to the mix, sharing the news that his new true-crime anthology series Confessions Of A Crime Queen has been officially greenlit by Discovery+. In confirming the news, Deadline shared additional details surrounding the upcoming series, confirming that each season will center around the life of a female “Crime Queen” who built a criminal empire before ultimately falling from power. It’s also stated that each subject will be portrayed by an “A-List” actress, who will interview the real-life counterpart throughout the season.

Juicy J Says He Feels Like The Quincy Jones Of Rap Music On “BagFuel”

You never know who’s going to appear on the next episode of BagFuel. Co-hosts E$$O and Hynaken are extremely well-connected after having been around the music industry for years and they continue to invite some of the biggest up-and-coming stars, as well as established veterans, onto the show to chop it up about all kinds of topics spanning their careers. In the last few weeks, episodes featuring Sevyn Streeter and Neisha Neshae went live and today, we’ve got the one and only Juicy J on the latest episode of BagFuel.

Checking in for a twenty-minute conversation with E$$O and Hynaken, Juicy J spoke about cryptocurrency, which he believes is the future, meeting artists like Drake, The Weeknd, and other Grammy winners before they signed their first deals, and much more. He also talked about the differences between his old and new music, concluding that he still turns up in the club as he did a decade ago.

As far as his goals moving forward, Juicy J told the guys that he likens himself to Quincy Jones, noting that he’s happy in his current role. “I feel like I’m the Quincy Jones of rap music, I just can’t stop,” he said. “I love working with new artists. Big ups to Meg Thee Stallion, three Grammys. Everybody I work with… Young Dolph, Wiz Khalifa, anybody. I’ve got so much underneath my belt and I just love doing this. I don’t think I’ll ever stop. I’ll probably be like Tony Bennett, he’s probably pushing 80. I seen Tony Bennett at the Grammys with Lady GaGa, they were performing, and I was just like, damn, that’s so amazing to me. He a legend, a father, a grandfather, a cousin, a brother. He’s still going, dude been making music forever.”

Earlier this year, Juicy J said he felt like the Tom Brady of the rap game. It’s not entirely new for his confidence levels to be this high.

Calboy Reflects On How His Cousin King Von Inspired Him Before His Death

The hip-hop community continues to mourn the passing of King Von, who succumbed to gunshot wounds on November 6th, 2020 following an altercation with Quando Rondo outside of an Atlanta club. Members of the game and fans of his music alike grieved the loss of the young talent, but for Calboy, the loss of another family member was a feeling he knew all too well.

In an interview last year, the “Miseducation” hitmaker revealed he and King Von were cousins. Before Von’s death, Calboy had suffered the loss of two of his other cousins to drug abuse and gun violence. While certainly traumatic experiences, the rapper explained in a new interview with HipHopDX how they fuel him to make songs that speak on the struggles of street life and being inspired by Von.

“That was a tough situation for me because even though I was successful, and I popped off before Von, I still looked up to him because of how he moved and how he just carried himself and the respect that he earned for himself,” Calboy said.

He went on to explain that while they were cousins, they were not as close as people might think. They began to connect in the same leading up to his murder. “We weren’t that close, we just cousins through family,” he explained to HipHopDX. “But his death definitely messed with my mental, especially after my cousin passed off popping an ecstasy pill and my other cousin got shot in the head.”

Calboy continued, “Now you see Von with his viral moment and I see all the memes and the videos and everybody got their own depiction of what went on. It’s tough just to see everything so I had to turn my phone off for a while and just sit back.”

The deaths of his family members affected Calboy in a major way, partially being the reason he is taking a different, more positive approach with his new music.

DJ Khaled, Lil Wayne, And Jeremih Are ‘Thankful’ For Their Blessings In A Reverent New Video

The rollout for DJ Khaled’s recently released twelfth studio album Khaled Khaled continues today with the video for the album’s opener, the Lil Wayne and Jeremih-featuring “Thankful.” The song, which samples Bobby “Blue” Bland’s 1978 soul single “Ain’t No Love in the Heart of the City.” opens the album with a worshipful, gospel-inflected meditation on the success the three men have experienced over the course of their careers, as well as Jeremih’s recovery from a recent bout of COVID-19.

“Thankful” follows the Jay-Z and Nas-featuring “Sorry Not Sorry” (which also featured a harmonious, undercover appearance from Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce, as “Harmonies By The Hive”) and the dancehall-accented “Where You Come From” featuring Bounty Killer, Buju Banton, and Capleton as the latest single from Khaled Khaled to receive the video treatment — a departure from the video-crazy rollout for Khaled’s last album, Father Of Asahd.

The more measured release strategy seems to be paying off, as Hits Daily Double projects a No. 1 debut looming for Khaled — his third in five years, after Major Key and Grateful. Father Of Asahd debuted at No. 2 in 2019, prompting Khaled to rebuke Billboard for changing its counting rules.

Governors Ball’s 2021 Lineup Is Led By Billie Eilish, Post Malone, And ASAP Rocky

Music festivals seem like a relic of the ancient past, but slowly but surely, they’re coming back. Now, one of New York City’s biggest events is making a return in 2021, as it was announced today that Governors Ball will be hosting its tenth anniversary event at Citi Field between September 24 and 26. Tickets go on sale on May 6 at noon ET, and ahead of then, the lineup has been shared.

The first day will be headlined by Billie Eilish, while ASAP Rocky and J Balvin will lead the second day and Post Malone will wrap up the final day. Other notable artists on the poster include DaBaby, Leon Bridges, Megan Thee Stallion, Phoebe Bridgers, 21 Savage, Ellie Goulding, Young Thug, Carly Rae Jepsen, Kind Princess, Portugal The Man, 24kGoldn, Future Islands, Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist, Earthgang, Tate McRae, Sasha Sloan, Orville Peck, Bartees Strange, RMR, Aminé, Big Thief, Cordae, Cleachers, Chiiild, Jamie xx, Dominic Fike, Smino, Princess Nokia, Jay Som and Palehound’s Bachelor, and 100 Gecs.

Ahead of today’s announcement, organizers shared a tease that read, “We miss the music. The crowd. The energy. The streets were quiet, the venues empty, our gates closed. It’s not the same to scream at the top of your lungs alone, and it sure isn’t as fun dancing at home. For too long there has been too little to look forward to. That changes tomorrow.”

Noname Revisits Her J. Cole Feud: ‘He Was Angered By The ‘Tone’ Of A Tweet That Didn’t Even Name Him’

2020 yielded some memorable music feuds, with one of the biggest being the beef between Noname and J. Cole. Uproxx’s Aaron Williams previously summed up the situation with a detailed explainer, but in essence, it began with Cole taking notice of a Noname tweet that he perceived as calling him out. Now, about a year after the saga began, Noname has addressed it again.

It began with Noname tweeting a personal philosophy a few days ago: “noname. no allegiance to one ideology. i read all. take what applies. leave the rest.” Somebody responded, “Dweebs gon call you unprincipled,” to which Noname replied, “i’m no longer interested in proving myself to an internet that will cannibalize the vulnerability of those who choose to publicly learn. it’s cop sh*t. i’m interested in what my community calls me. twitter is not my community [heart emoji].”

Somebody else then brought Cole into the conversation, responding, “J Cole literally tried to make that same point to you almost 2 years ago lol.” Noname fired back, “no. j cole was upset because i tweeted about rappers who profit off blackness while simultaneously being silent when it comes to black death. he was angered by the ‘tone’ of a tweet that didn’t even specifically name him.”

Another person replied, “J Cole has out in enough time to and done enough organising to be above your questioning,” to which a seemingly skeptical Noname responded, “wait, j cole is an organizer [monocle emoji].” She then added, “i forgot how much yall play on this app [crying emoji].”

Roskilde Festival 2021 Has Been Cancelled

Though many were holding out hope that Festival season would return to some semblance of pre-COVID normalcy, what with vaccination efforts ramping up in a variety of countries, it would appear that many are not quite out of the woods. In fact, the Danish Roskilde Festival, which was previously canceled in 2020 over coronavirus restrictions, has now been canceled for the second year in a row.

In an official statement on their website, the festival shared a few words about the “devastating” decision. “As expected, we can’t conduct a Roskilde Festival this summer,” it begins. “Let us meet again in 2022. We are devastated by the fact that we can’t get together at our festival and contribute to recreating the communities that the corona crisis has destroyed for so many.”

“The cancellation is very serious for the festival, for the charity society behind it and for our community,” it continues. “And it is serious for the artistic environments and the growth segments of culture.” As expected, 2021 ticketholders can hold on to their purchases for next year’s edition of the festival, though it’s likely that the lineup will have altered significantly by that point. For some context, the 2020 lineup was originally set to include Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, Thom Yorke, Tyler, The Creator, The Strokes, and many more.

“It will be an invaluable help for us if you choose to keep your ticket by transferring it to 2022,” continues the statement. “That way, you help us through this very difficult time.”

With select festivals like Rolling Loud Miami currently scheduled for this year, it’s sad to see a long-running institution like the Roskilde Festival suffering as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Still, safety must be prioritized above all, and we can only hope that it’s able to bounce back in 2022 once restrictions (hopefully) ease up. Keep an eye out for further details on Roskilde’s triumphant return as they surface.
