Anthony Davis is one of the best players in the NBA when he is healthy although this year he has had quite a few struggles with the Lakers. His injury issues kept him out of the lineup for a while and even when he came back, he had some issues with efficiency. With LeBron James out, things have only gotten worse and now, the Lakers are in 7th in the Western Conference and will most likely have to partake in the play-in round which means they may not even make the playoffs.

Last night, the Lakers came through with a big win against the Phoenix Suns and it’s a win that surely inspired some confidence in the team. After the match, Davis told ESPN that he is actually excited about the Lakers situation and that he wants to prove just how good this team is.

“It’s been fun, to be honest,” Davis claimed. “We were a great team last year, and this is the first time since I’ve been here that we ran into a challenge. This is a different challenge for us.”

The Lakers have an opportunity to make a deep run in the playoffs if they stay healthy and as a lower seed, they could very well knock off one of the stronger teams early in the postseason, which would make their path easier in the deeper rounds. Regardless, it’s going to be an interesting final stretch of the season.

Melinda Gates began consulting divorce lawyers in 2019, after learning the extent of Bill Gates’ relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, according to a new report from the Wall Street Journal. The billionaire couple called it off, last week, after 27 years of marriage.

The Journal reports that a former employee for the Melinda & Bill Gates Foundation confirmed that the divorce was, in part, due to Bill’s friendship with Epstein. 

The Daily Beast also reported that Melinda was “furious” when Bill met with Epstein in 2013. Bill has said that meeting with Epstein was a “mistake in judgment.”

The couple announced their divorce in a joint statement on May 3.

“We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in the next phase of our lives,” the statement read. “We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life.”

Following news of the separation, Shannon and Shannade Clermont reached out to Bill in his social media DMs.

“I heard you’re single now. I always admired a strong intelligent brilliant man like yourself,” they said in the messages.

Bears running back Tarik Cohen’s twin brother, Tyrell Cohen, was found dead at an electrical substation in North Carolina, Sunday, according to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office. He is believed to have been electrocuted while trying to climb power equipment during a chase with local police.

“He entered the substation, which may have been resulting from the accident,” spokesperson Eric Curry said.

He went on to explain that Tyrell was fleeing from a car accident when police lost sight of him and called off the search.

Cohen and his family filed a missing person report, Saturday night. He also asked for help locating his brother on Twitter in a now-deleted post.

“RALEIGH/DURHAM AREA Have you seen my brother?” he wrote in the post. “Last seen 2 am at Heroes pub… Could be on foot in the woulds (sic)… Possibly injured!”

The Chicago Bears released a statement saying they are heartbroken by the loss:

“We are heartbroken to learn of the death of Tarik Cohen’s twin brother, Tyrell. Our immediate thoughts and prayers go out to Tarik, his mother, Tilwanda, and the rest of their family and loved ones. On behalf of the entire Bears family, we extend our most heartfelt sympathies to all who mourn his loss.”

Yaya Mayweather, Zonnique, and more celebrities celebrated their first Mother’s Day as parents this year. 

Mayweather’s mother, Melissia Rene, posted a special tribute on Instagram for her daughter.

“Sending a very special Happy Mother’s Day to my baby @moneyyaya you have been such a great mommy to KJ you’re so patient, loving & caring of his every little need,” Rene wrote on IG. “The way KJ lights up when you walk in the room, the way he smiles from ear to ear when you talk to him, & when I see you guys sleeping face to face with his little hand on your face makes my heart melt. I love you & I’m proud of you Happy Mother’s Day.”

Mayweather gave birth to her son, Kentrell Jr., earlier this year. He is also the son of NBA Youngboy.

Zonnique’s mother, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, also wished her daughter the best on her first Mother’s Day as a mom.

“It’s your first year joining the best club life has to offer,” she wrote. “Thank you for my beautiful sweet GBaby.. she is EVERYTHING! Happy Mother’s Day Gorgeous child of mine.”

Dallas Mavericks star guard Luka Doncic was ejected from Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers after striking Colin Sexton in the groin area. After the game, Doncic admitted that he did hit him, but says it was not intentional.

“After I saw the video, I knew I hit him, but it was nothing on purpose,” he told reporters. “I think that kind of stuff happens a lot in the games, but I don’t know. That’s my explanation. It obviously was not on purpose.”

The foul was deemed to be a flagrant 2 for “an aggressive strike to the groin area” according to the Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

In his 22 minutes of action, he finished with 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Doncic is in the midst of a terrific season, averaging 28.4 points, 8.7 assists, and 8.1 rebounds per game.

Backed by Doncic’s impressive play this year, The Mavericks are currently in the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 40-28 record. They are 8-2 in their last ten games.

Due to Doncic’s ejection coming as a direct flagrant 2, rather than a combination of technical foul calls, it will not count towards his total and will not result in a one-game suspension.

DaBaby put in the work Mother’s Day weekend to prove he is a committed parent, showing up to both of his daughter separate birthday parties. The Baby on Baby rapper was seen putting a “Kirk” necklace on one of his daughters. In another video, he could be seen singing happy birthday.

It has been rumored that DaniLeigh is pregnant with what would be DaBaby’s third child, but she has yet to confirm it. The couple began dating in December 2020 but broke up a few months later.

DaBaby has proven his caringness as a father before. Earlier this year, he pulled an all-nighter in the studio recording a special song for his daughter on Valentine’s Day.

“My baby woke up yesterday morning and walked in on me & @iamdjkid pulling a all nighter recording in the studio,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “She climbed on my lap in front of the mic & I made this song on da spot. @gemini.one1 caught me setting up her Valentine’s Day surprise at 5 am in between making these hits I got on the way.

DaBaby’s first daughter was born in 2017 and his second was born in 2020.
