Cordae Launches His Own Record Label

Over the past few years, there has been a noted rise in ownership mentality in hip-hop, with an artist’s master recordings being chief among the most valuable assets. As such, many young rappers have shifted their philosophies toward the industry, taking it upon themselves to forge new paths and secure sustainable financial longevity.

It would appear that Cordae is looking to readjust the way he maneuvers, officially confirming the creation of his own record label Hi Level Productions. The recently launched Instagram profile is described as “a family, way of life, and Record Label, 100% owned by @cordae.” It’s unclear as to how this new label will function alongside his existing deal with Atlantic Records, but it’s likely that Cordae will be looking to release his own new music — as well as that of any potential signees — through this new venture.

Speaking of new music, Cordae recently confirmed that his next “body of work,” presumably an album, will be titled From A Bird’s Eye View. Fans might recognize the title from Just Until closer “Thornton Street,” where he foreshadowed the name. It will be interesting to see if project is released exclusively on Hi Level, or if Atlantic remains in the fold for the time being.

Check out Cordae’s new label below, and sure to give the page a follow if you’re interested in what the young rapper is bringing to the table. Are you excited to see how this new development helps Cordae elevate to the next stage of his career?

Donald Glover On “Boring” TV: “People Are Afraid Of Getting Canceled”

Donald Glover recently returned to Twitter and other social media after an extended hiatus on the app. The multi-hyphenate seems to purely have his television gloves on, returning to the platforms to share development updates on the third season of his Emmy-winning series AtlantaHe set Twitter ablaze on Tuesday morning (May 11) after he allegedly suggested “cancel culture” was responsible for boring films and TV.

He started the late-night thread by explaining he saw people on the site having a discussion about being tired of “reviewing boring stuff (tv & film).” He continued, “We’re getting boring stuff and not even experimental mistakes(?) because people are afraid of getting canceled.”

“So they feel like they can only experiment w/ aesthetic. (also because some of em know theyre not that good),” he finished in the final tweet. While it seems like the widespread understanding of his claims was in regards to movies and TV shows being canceled, some believe he was speaking about cancel culture.

One user pointed out, “Donald Glover is talking about shows literally getting canceled off the air and off networks. Not canceled by media and society. Please use your brains.”

On the flip side, some users believe the Grammy winner was in fact talking about cancel culture. “I agree. Donald chose his words very carefully but he 100% is talking about cancel culture. And the cancel culture brigade dropped on him. Poetic really,” penned another user in response to someone suggesting the same thing.

Either way, the debate over what the Atlanta star actually meant sparked hot debate on the platform about how authentic “cancel culture” really is. What’s your take? Let us know down in the comments.

Nicki Minaj Causes 4,900% Spike In Pink Crocs Sales: Report

Despite her posting only once in the last seven days, it’s been a pretty dominant week for Nicki Minaj. The living legend teased her upcoming musical comeback by telling her fans to tune in at the end of the week, hinting that she could be dropping a new single or project. As we patiently wait to find out what she’s releasing (while listening to “LLC” on repeat), fans of the 38-year-old have been boosting sales for footwear brand Crocs, buying up tons of stock after the superstar rapper showed off a pair of pink clogs in her return pictures.

The demand for pink Crocs has spiked tremendously in the last twenty-four hours with shocking numbers being reported by The Sole Supplier. According to the UK-based sneaker community, Nicki’s post personally contributed to a 4,900% growth in sales for pink Crocs. That much can be confirmed by the number of Barbz that have shared their receipts from the online Crocs shop, buying up multiple pairs of shoes, which were described as “ugly” a few years ago. The tide has turned with Crocs currently making a serious comeback, complementing Nicki’s own return. Nicki had her clogs fully customized with Chanel Jibbitz.

With people like Justin Bieber, Post Malone, and so many others hopping on the Crocs wave, it looks like comfort has become a priority once again in fashion.

Post Malone Asked Jason Statham To Make A Song With Him

Jason Statham shot Post Malone… in the trailer for the movie Wrath Of Man that was revealed in March. Malone has a small role in the film, and while he was on set, he apparently asked his co-star to collaborate on some music with him. That was an opportunity that Statham, like he did to Malone in the film, shot down.

In a recent USA Today interview, Statham spoke about what it was like to work with Malone, saying, “Post came in with this big enthusiasm for being killed that day. He’s like, ‘I can’t wait for you to kill me, man.’ I got sucked into that enthusiasm and he did a great job. It’s just a shame that it was a short moment together, but I was privileged to pull the trigger in our little scene.”

He was then asked if the two have plans to collaborate musically, and he noted that Malone did ask to make a song with him: “He invited me to come make a record. I quickly relieved him of that bad choice.”

In a recent interview with Bossip, Statham also discussed how Malone came to be involved with the movie, saying, “[Director] Guy [Ritchie] told me that Post called him up and said, ‘If you’re making a movie, I wanna be in it,’ and it was as simple as that. People wanna work with Guy Ritchie for some reason [laughs]… me too. You know, he’s got a good way, people like his films, and that’s how it happened with Post: He gave the call and he couldn’t have been more gracious. He turned up, just was as down to earth as you could be, so we were really lucky. I’m glad I got to shake his hand, you know?”

Porsha Williams Reveals Engagement To “RHOA” Co-Star’s Ex-Husband

Even people who aren’t fans of reality television have kept this story as a trending topic. Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams has lived her life out loud since joining the Bravo cast back in 2012, and since that time, she’s found her name engrossed in several controversies. Within the last two seasons of the show, viewers saw her developing a relationship with businessman Dennis McKinley, then the pair got engaged and revealed they were expecting a child together, but soon, their relationship ended after McKinley admitted to cheating.

Porsha has kept her love life on the low and instead has shone a light on her activism, primarily her work on behalf of Breonna Taylor’s case. She was arrested last year during a protest, and while that seemed like a scandal to her fans, her Monday (May 10) revelation took social media by storm.

There have been rumors about Real Housewives of Atlanta newcomer Falynn Guobadia’s marriage to Simon Guobadia, and some speculated that Porsha was dating her friend’s ex-husband. On Instagram, Porsha uploaded a photo of herself with Simon, and in the caption, she detailed their romance.

“Our relationship began a month ago—yes we are crazy in love,” wrote Porsha. “I know it’s fast but we are living life each day to its fullest. I choose happiness every morning and every night. Tuning out all negative energy and only focused on positive wishes. He makes me so happy and to me, that is what matters most.” She added that Simon filed for divorce from his “previous marriage” in January and it’s rumored that it was finalized in March.

Porsha was how Falynn was introduced to the show, as a friend. The two had scenes where Falynn welcomed Porsha into her home, met Simon, and the ladies even took a dip in the pool. However, in her post, Porsha denies that there was a friendship. “Falynn and I are not friends, and Simon’s divorce has been settled. Our relationship is a positive, loving step forward in everybody’s lives.”

Tamar Braxton, Teairra Marie, Nene Leakes, and thousands of others sent Porsha and Simon well wishes. The reality star added that her ex-fiancé and her new love Simon are committed to keeping the peace. Falynn has yet to publicly comment, but everyone from the Pop to Rap to the entertainment industry as a whole has kept this story at the top of trends since Porsha’s announcement was made.

Later, Simon revealed in a lengthy post that he has proposed to Porsha and they’re preparing for their happily ever after following a one-month courtship. He previously insinuated that his marriage to Falynn ended because she was unfaithful. The big debate is: What would you do if you were Falynn? And could you date your friend’s ex-husband? Audrey Nuna Flows Between Rapping And Crooning On The Brief New Track ‘Blossom’

If you’re trying to figure out what a new artist will be like live, look no further than Vevo’s live DSCVR videos. These clips not only help support emerging artists who might not have a lot of videos banked yet, but will give fans a great sense of what it might be like to watch the artist perform. That’s exactly what their version of “Blossom” does today for rising artist Audrey Nuna, who is prepping the project A Liquid Breakfast for release in just a few weeks.

The Korean-American artist was already making waves last fall for her style, and followed up the recently-released track “Space” with today’s new song “Blossom.” Even though “Space” only came out a month ago, the slow-burning track has already racked up over a million views. “Blossom” showcases a much different side of the Jersey-based musician, proving that her R&B chops might not be the only thing she’s bringing to the table. In just under two minutes Nuna oscillates between straight-faced, effortless rapping and her beautiful, lilting singing voice, proving that she’s just as versatile as they come.

The track also has personal meaning to Nuna, who shared the following quote about the song: “‘Blossom’ is a song about growing up. My grandma recently told me about her childhood and how she had to flee a war by foot. I’m happy I was able to put her voice in the outro.” Look for her project A Liquid Breakfast out on 5/21, and watch the live performance of “Blossom” above.

Bhad Bhabie Says OnlyFans Critics Are Jealous Of Her Success

Last month, Danielle “Bhad Bhabie” Bregoli turned 18-years-old. The teen has been a storm in the entertainment industry ever since she made her infamous appearance on Dr. Phil as a 13-year-old problem child, and while she’s been making business moves on her own for years, she’s finally a legal adult. Not long after ringing in her 18th birthday, Bregoli launched her OnlyFans page, and within six hours, she claims she’d already made $1 million.

People took several issues with the OnlyFans reveal because they believe that she’s being groomed, is too young to be on the site, or questioned why so many people were quick to follow when she’d only just turned 18. TMZ caught up with the young star and she called out critics, stating that she believes they’re jealous of her success.

“I think any b*tch who says that is mad ’cause they didn’t make as much money as me on there,” said the rapper. “That’s obvious! Like, how could you be mad that someone younger—that’s like seeing somebody, that’s like seeing a banker make millions and millions of dollars and say, oh no, banking should be changed. You can’t bank unless you’re twenty-one and older, just ’cause they’re young. Like, what? So, if I was twenty-one, you’re gonna say that it should be twenty-five? When I’m twenty-five are you gonna say it should be thirty?”

“Listen, I’m not groomed by nobody. I make all my own decisions and I have been since I was very young,” she added. Check out her clip below and see what else she had to say about people who say its cheating if their significant other subscribes to women’s profiles on OnlyFans.
