Wendy Williams Shades Ellen DeGeneres Following Talk Show Cancellation

Ellen DeGeneres has officially decided to call it quits on her daytime talk show. The last year or so, TheEllen DeGeneres Show has been met with controversy due to the recent exposure on how she treats her staff behind the scenes. Following all the public drama and rumors, Ellen revealed, “Today I am announcing that the last season, season nineteen, will be my last season,” during a recent episode. Now, shade towards DeGeneres’s announcement comes from none other than fellow daytime talk show host Wendy Williams.

“You’ve been on TV for 19 years, you should be so lucky,” said Williams when discussing the Ellen DeGeneres Show’s cancellation on the ‘Hot Topics’ segment of her own show. Both daytime talk show hosts have been caught up in their own variety of scandals over the past couple of years. Williams’s nasty split from ex-husband Kevin Hunter received much coverage. Not only has DeGeneres been under fire for allegedly encouraging a toxic work environment, she has garnered negative publicity for her friendship with former President George Bush.

Williams and Hunter’s divorce was widely covered in numerous media outlets. Hunter had been unfaithful to Williams for many years with a woman named Sharina Hudson, a woman he also had a child with for many years, unbeknownst to Williams. The contentious split was featured in length in her made for TV biopic Wendy Williams: The  Movie.

Many of the Ellen DeGeneres Show’s current and former employees reported to Buzzfeed that they had experienced poor treatment while working for the show. Shortly following these reports, DeGeneres was spotted hanging out with former President George Bush, much to the dismay of her fans. DeGeneres’s friendship with the Republican-leaning George Bush only fueled the fire further.

While DeGeneres claimed in her announcement that the show changed her life, Williams was quick to tell her audience and remind DeGeneres that18-19 years on  television doesn’t change your life, it exposes you for the person you really are.”

Are you sad to see The Ellen DeGeneres Show come to an end? Do you think her reputation of engaging in toxic positivity is valid? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Calboy Slows Things Down With “10 Toes Down”

Chicago artist Calboy is quietly having one of the most impressive years amongst his contemporaries. Last year, he was named a XXL Freshman in a stacked class that included the likes of Mulatto, Rod Wave, Lil Tjay, Baby Keem, Jack Harlow, and Polo G, among others. Being featured alongside some of the most eye-catching new artists was a major accomplishment, and Calboy has been consistently been putting in work to prove that it was well deserved.

Earlier this year, the “Envy Me” artist started gearing up for another huge year by unleashing the Lil Wayne-assisted single “Miseducation.” Now, roughly two months later, Calboy is back with another single, a slowed down cut titled “Ten Toes Down.”

“Ten Toes Down” finds Calboy exploring the pitfalls of loyalty and the pain of betrayal as he recounts being hurt by those closest to him. Fans of the Chicago artist can expect his signature brand of poetic and heartfelt lyricism all throughout the four-minute single, so check out Calboy’s latest release by watching the official music video for “Ten Toes Down” below.

Video Shows Mentally Ill Black Man Died After Being Tasered & Pepper Sprayed In Custody

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina has released footage from the death of Jamal Sutherland, who died on January 5, 2021, while in custody at a detention center in North Charleston. The video shows officers pepper-spraying and tasing Sutherland numerous times while forcibly removing him from a jail cell.

Sutherland family attorney Mark A. Peper released a statement, Friday, saying that “people with mental health issues are entitled to the same exact civil rights as you and me and every other healthy, wealthy person in this world.”

Jamal’s mother, Amy Sutherland, said that she doesn’t want violence to erupt in the city, but hopes people learn from the incident: “I don’t want any violence in my city. I want us to view this tape and I want us to learn what we don’t want to have happen again. I ask no violence,” she said. “We have black men being killed every day.”

The officers were sent in to bring Sutherland to his bond hearing for a misdemeanor assault charge.

Charleston County Sheriff Kristin Graziano admitted that the killing was a “tragedy” in a statement, Thursday night.

“Our officers removed Mr. Sutherland from his cell that morning in order to ensure that he received a timely bond hearing, as required by law,” Graziano said. “Their efforts were complicated by the increasing effects that Mr. Sutherland was suffering as a result of mental illness.”

She continued: “Since this tragedy occurred, we have assessed our resources and are evaluating options for global improvement, including a focus on mental health awareness.”

Nicki Minaj Sends A Warning Shot At An Unnamed Adversary

Nicki Minaj is back. Within a matter of 24 hours, the iconic femcee has hosted an Instagram live session with nearly one million viewers, brought her game-changing mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty to DSPs, and teased that the next chapter in her career will be one for the books.

Unfortunately, it appears that there may be trouble in paradise for the Queen artist, despite the celebratory occasion. Early Friday afternoon, Nicki hit Twitter to let off a seemingly serious threat at an unnamed individual.

Rather than really getting deep into what has recently perturbed her, the “Seeing Green” rapper opted to warn her opposition and let them know that she can be petty too. In a simple yet menacing tweet, Mrs. Petty set the record straight, writing, “Trust, it’s all fun & games until I wanna play too.”

While Nicki’s tweet does not directly name her adversary, anyone keeping up with Nicki Minaj news today would probably point the finger in Azealia Banks’ direction. Following Nicki’s highly anticipated Instagram live stream on Thursday, Azealia Banks took to her Instagram story to body shame the Young Money rapper, insinuate substance abuse, and suggest that child protective services take Nicki’s son away from her.

Thus, if Nicki did in fact catch wind of the “Anna Wintour” artist’s Instagram story rant, it would make sense if Banks was the target of Nicki’s Twitter sub.

Do you think Nicki Minaj’s warning was aimed in Azealia Banks’ direction or someone else?

Chris Weidman Demonstrates Incredible Progress After Breaking Leg

Chris Weidman is well-respected in the MMA world and when he suffered a gruesome injury against Uriah Hall just a few weeks ago, many were worried about his well-being. At 36 years old, it’s hard to return from injuries, and it’s even harder to return from snapping your leg in half. The image of Weidman falling on his own broken leg has been stuck in people’s minds for weeks now, and it was hard for many to imagine what it would take for him to walk again.

Well, just three weeks later, Weidman is already back on his feet, with some assistance of course. In a new video obtained by TMZ, Weidman can be seen walking around a fitness area while on crutches. You can hardly tell his leg had been snapped just weeks earlier and in all honesty, this progress is pretty miraculous.

On Instagram, Weidman noted that he is slowly but surely getting the circulation back into his leg and that every day, he is working on new routines that are helping him get back his strength. It’s going to be a long road back but Weidman seems determined and his family is definitely giving him a ton of support right now.

Hopefully, he’s able to keep up this pace and get back to normal life sooner rather than later.

Lamar Odom Sued For Not Paying Child Support

Former NBA star Lamar Odom has two children with his former partner Liza Morales and since 2015, he has steadily been paying child support. In fact, Odom was supposed to pay Morales upwards of $6,000 per month and was even supposed to maintain a $9 million life insurance policy. However, in a new lawsuit, Morales is suing Odom for skipping out on the child support payments. In fact, according to Page Six, Odom hasn’t paid up since last June.

As a direct result of Odom’s actions, Morales claims she is being evicted from her apartment in Manhattan which costs over $5,000 per month. This has effectively put her and her children in a very tight spot, and that’s exactly why she is seeking damages against the former star.

“In June 2020, Lamar stopped providing any support save for sporadic amounts sent directly to LJ, placing their son in a very difficult situation,” documents from the lawsuit said. Morales currently owes $78,000 in unpaid rent, and as Page Six reports, their son ended up going to community college as Morales could not afford the tuition for a four-year institution.

Odom has yet to comment on the situation, so stay tuned for any updates as this is a developing story.

Dreamville’s Ibrahim H. Details Lil Baby’s Recording Process For “The Off-Season”

J. Cole’s longtime manager Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad says that he and Cole were blown away by Lil Baby’s recording process when they worked together onThe Off-Season.

“Me and Cole pulled up on Baby to get that song done and watching his process of recording is like nothing I ever seen. Bro really different,” Hamad wrote on Twitter, Friday.

Baby is featured on Cole’s track, “Pride Is The Devil,” where he jumps in for the final verse of the song. The collaboration is proving to be one of the most popular on the album thus far. “Break it down, weigh it up, now bag it up/Making five a month, that’s regular/N***a playing with us, that’s a negative,” Baby raps rapid fire on the song.

Cole also brought in 21 Savage to contribute a verse elsewhere on The Off-Season. Their performance together has become so popular that many fans finished the album wanting a full-length collaborative project between the two.

Baby has his own, much more tangible, collaborative project in the works with Lil Durk that is expected to release soon. Baby recently teased the exact release date on his Instagram but quickly deleted the caption.

Is Kodak Black Name Dropping Yung Miami & Jayda Cheaves On “Dirty K?”

On Friday, Kodak Black returned with his first project since his 2020 album Bill Israel. Titled Haitian Boy Kodak, the eight-track project features songs like “Z Look Jamaican” and “Don’t Leave Me.” One of the album cuts that has really been making noise is “Dirty K,” a song that finds the Florida artist waxing poetic about his strained relationships with artists throughout the music industry. At one point, he discusses how his friendship with NBA YoungBoy soured out of the blue, and he also taunts Meek Mill for criticizing his cash flow without helping him secure more.

However, “Dirty K” has also been making waves across the internet because fans believe that the “ZEZE” rapper is name-dropping two of the most popular women in the Hip-Hop community: City Girls’ Yung Miami and Lil Baby’s baby mother Jayda Cheaves. Some fans have chalked up Kodak’s name-drops as harmelss references to women that he knows, but others find the Flordia artist’s mentions to be somewhat disrespectful.

Thanks to the mix on “Dirty K,” the lyrics in question are a bit muddled, as even Genius’ transcription is incomplete. For the lines that fans think refer to Caresha (a.k.a. Yung Miami), Genius shows the lyrics as, “I could’ve played relations better with [?]/I’m thinking back ’cause it’s a whole lotta things I should’ve did.”

Furthermore, fans have been debating whether a subsequent line also mentions Jayda Cheaves. That line has caused far more contention as Genius has transcribed Kodak’s bars as “I’m having problems showing people that I really care/I don’t know but I been thanking my jailor too much.”

Check out Kodak Black’s new Haitian Boy Kodak standout “Dirty K” below to listen for yourself. The lyrics in question start around the 1:00-mark.

What do you think — is Kodak Black shooting his shot at Yung Miami and Jayda Cheaves or are fans mishearing his lyrics?
