Trump Suggested Sending Americans With COVID-19 To Guantanamo Bay: Report

Trump finally admitted to defeat in the 2020 election but his presidency remains a source of inspiration for many memoirs that have been coming out recently. Washington Post journalists Yasmeen Abutaleb and Damian Paletta have authored a new book titled, Nightmare Scenario: Inside The Trump Administration’s Response To The Pandemic That Changed History, which documents the early days of the pandemic at the White House.

One particular excerpt from the book has been gaining attention in the past 24 hours, revealing an alarming suggestion made by the then-president. According to the Post, Trump asked members of his staff about the possibility of bringing home infected Americans from overseas. and placing them at Guantanamo Bay. This was apparently a response to suppressing the infection rate on American ground.

“Don’t we have an island that we own?” Trump reportedly asked the people inside of the Situation Room in February 2020. “What about Guantánamo?”

He continued. “We import goods… We are not going to import a virus.”

Members of his staff were reportedly terrified by the suggestion and it was quickly dismissed. Many were worried about how the situation would look to te public, especially since Guantanamo Bay is notoriously known for its horrendous conditions and housing suspects of terrorism.

Nightmare Scenario: Inside The Trump Administration’s Response To The Pandemic That Changed History will be available on June 29th.

Coi Leray Fuels Pressa Rumors With Tweet About Cheating

Earlier this month, Coi Leray and Pressa seemingly debuted their relationship. There were multiple social media posts that indicated the two were an item– they playfully flirted in TikTok videos, and Coi even defended Pressa from accusations he looked like a girl: “People saying pressa look like a girl till they see that Mf dick print” she tweeted. However, it looks like there might already be trouble in paradise.

On Sunday, June 20th, Coi Leray posted a cryptic tweet about cheating in relationships. The “No More Parties” rapper tweeted, “A real nigga ain’t gonna cheat on you. A real nigga gonna use his time to get to that bag and inspire instead of entertaining hoes. But that’s just my opinion.” The tweet has since amassed 850 retweets and more than 3,300 likes.

Neither rappers have spoken out regarding the tweets. However, that has not stopped fans from speculating if Leray was subtweeting Pressa. What do you think?

In related news, Coi Leray recently linked up with the City Girls and Lakeyah in Mississippi. The rappers all posted up together, taking part in the “Twerkulator” challenge. Earlier this month, the “Big Purr” rapper was also featured in the June 2021 edition of XXL’s Freshman Class.

Despite any romantic issues, Coi has been thriving in her rap career, and she continues with a DJ Mustard-produced record dropping on Friday. Preview it below.

Meek Mill Has Something To Say In New Snippet

It’s been several years since Meek Mill dropped off his last studio album Championships, a project that was arguably his strongest body of work to date. And while he hasn’t been entirely inactive, delivering holdover singles like the recent “Flamerz Flow,” the wait for his fifth studio album is beginning to take a toll on fans.

Luckily, Meek has been hard at work in the studio, taking to Instagram to showcase some of his upcoming handiwork. “I been on some shit lately,” he teases. “Give me 30 days. Had to go east to get back.”

Joined by an entourage of well over a dozen, Meek showcases some bars on an as-of-yet-unreleased track, presumably drawn from his untitled new album. “Shit, I been goin’ a long time, I know they sick of me ya’ll,” he spits, over a low-key instrumental. “Got me switching up my flow again, switching up my ho again / Everybody been changing got me switching up my bro again / my dog did his bid, he got back home and switched his pole again / And I didn’t even tell him to slide, he tried to go again / Once he got active, I said ‘go again.'”

While we have yet to have any concrete word on a potential release for Meek’s anticipated drop, his “30 day” teaser could mean we’re looking at a potential July release. Furthering that narrative is a prior warning from Meek, who previously expressed his desire to “terrorize this rap shit” in the summer of 2021.

Check out the snippet and be sure to sound off if you’re excited for Meek Mill’s next studio album.

Chris Brown Is Under Investigation For Battery After A Woman Claims He Slapped Her Weave Out

According to TMZ, singer Chris Brown is under investigation for battery after a woman told police that he slapped the back of her head so hard her weave came out. Police responded to the troubled R&B star’s home in the San Fernando Valley over the weekend after the alleged victim filed a police report naming Brown as her assailant. The victim had no injuries and no one was arrested.

Chris Brown’s career has seen a resurgence thanks to his Slime And B tape with Young Thug in 2020 and some smartly placed features this year, including one with HER and another with Wale, as well as a relatively quiet 2020 on the scandal front. Perhaps it was just quarantine or maybe Brown had enough to deal with after being accused of rape in France in 2019 and was just laying low, but it had been a while since he had to deal with police, although they did show up to shut down his birthday party in May after neighbors complained about the noise.

Although Brown’s legal troubles have toned down in recent years, he was recently sued by his housekeeper over an alleged dog attack after supposedly failing to secure his pet.

Jaden Shares The Wistful ‘Bye’ From His Upcoming ‘CTV3 Day Trippers Edition’

“I was sad when I made this song, but I’m happy it’s out,” Jaden said of his new song “Bye” in a press release. “Welcome to CTV3, welcome to trippy summer. It was the time of our lives.” The new single is the first release from the upcoming deluxe edition of his recently released mixtape CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3,, titled Day Trippers Edition.

“Bye” operates in the same mode as “Cabin Fever,” with a groovy, danceable beat and nostalgic lyrics about a lost love. However, it updates the production, to include more synth and a slightly more futuristic outlook than the throwback vibe on “Cabin Fever.”

While the original version of CTV3 mostly found Jaden performing solo on tracks like “Rainbow Bap” and “Photograph,” the Day Trippers Edition will feature an impressive array of guests, including Joey Badass, Justin Bieber (with whom he previously collaborated on “Falling For You“), and ¿Téo?.

In the months since releasing the project, Jaden has been busy, appearing on the soundtrack to Spider-Man: Miles Morales and opening a restaurant where homeless people can eat healthy food for free in LA.

Listen to “Bye” above.

CTV3 Day Trippers Edition is coming soon on MSFTS MUSIC/Roc Nation.

A Judge Has Blocked The NFT Of Jay-Z’s ‘Reasonable Doubt’ Album

The controversial NFT based on Jay-Z’s debut album Reasonable Doubt has been blocked by a judge as the lawsuit against Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Damon Dash continues. According to The Hollywood Reporter, U.S. District Court Judge John Cronan granted a temporary restraining order to Roc-A-Fella after the label sued Dash on June 18 over his alleged attempt to sell virtual ownership of the career-launching record.

Dash said that he wasn’t trying to sell the rights to the album, but his partner in the endeavor, SuperFarm, announced the NFT auction “of Damon‘s ownership of the copyright to Jay-Z’s first album Reasonable Doubt. This marks a new milestone in the history of NFT’s, entitling the new owner to future revenue generated by the unique asset.” The auction, which was set for June 23-25, was canceled after the label sent a warning letter to SuperFarm, but the label pursued additional legal action against Dash out of concern he’d attempt another sale on his own. Dash says he was trying to sell his Roc-A-Fella stake, not the rights to Reasonable Doubt.

U.S. District Court Judge John Cronan sided with the label during a hearing this morning, noting Roc-A-Fella owns the copyright to the album. The lawsuit will continue, but the sale will not — for the time being. Incidentally, it was a dispute over the publishing rights to Reasonable Doubt that ultimately caused Dash’s initial split with Jay-Z when Dash refused to sell Jay the album masters after the latter was offered a role as president of the parent label Island Def Jam. Jay offered to turn down the role in exchange for the masters, but ultimately took the role and kept the rest of his catalog after Dame’s refusal, causing a rift that led to the demise of Roc-A-Fella at the height of its success.

Reasonable Doubt is also at the center of another lawsuit; Jay-Z is suing the photographer who shot the cover for the album over control of his images.

Michael Jackson Asked To Be Part Of ‘Hunchback Of Notre Dame,” But Disney Declined

Disney is well-known for its critically acclaimed animated films. To this day, The Hunchback of Notre Dame stands as one of the most unique and unforgettable animated movies they’ve debuted to date. The company relied solely on its vision for the film, one that could have included Michael Jackson’s participation had they approved it.

The film, based on Victor Hugo’s 1831 novel, was released at the height of Disney’s “Renaissance” period, marking a departure from the Princess archetype films produced by the company. In a new oral history of the film by SlashFilm, the directors, animators, actors, and other filmmakers discuss the making of the film, revealing that Disney had rejected Michael Jackson’s proposal for involvement in the film.

Composer Alan Menken revealed in the film that Jackson had displayed a strong interest in the film. Films like Aladdin had experienced chart success for its score with pop star covers of their songs, and Jackson wanted to do the same with Hunchback.

“I get a call out of nowhere from Michael’s assistant, when Michael was at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York,” Menken told SlashFilm. “He had to [deal with] allegations about inappropriate behavior with underage kids, and the breakup with Lisa Marie Presley. He’s looking to change the subject. And he obviously loves Disney so much. So I mentioned Hunchback. He said he’d love to come to my studio, watch the movie, and talk about it. So we got in touch with Disney Animation. They said, ‘Meet with him! If he likes it…well, see what he says.'”

Menken showed Jackson three songs, “Out There,” “God Help the Outcasts,” and “Someday.” Menken then went on to run it by Disney, who allegedly told him “‘Uh, we’ll get back to you about that.'”

He continued, “finally, predictably, the word came back, ‘Disney doesn’t want to do this with Michael Jackson.’ I go, ‘OK, could someone tell him this?’ You can hear a pin drop, no response, and nobody did [tell him]. It fell to my late manager, Scott Shukat, to tell Michael or Michael’s attorney. In retrospect, it was the right decision. [But] Quasimodo is a character… if you look at his relationships with his family and his father, I would think there’s a lot of identification there.” Check out the full oral history here

Jackson has apparently always been a huge fan of Hunchback of Notre Dame, expressing interest in playing Quasimodo in a possible remake of the 1939 film adaption before the Disney animated version materialized. Neither Disney nor Jackson’s estate have commented on the newly surfaced details.
