SZA Says ‘I Really Hate My Label’ After ‘Good Days’ Dropped Out Of The ‘Billboard’ Hot 100 Chart

SZA has had her fair share of quarrels with her label, Top Dawg Entertainment. An example came on Tuesday after news that her most recent single, “Good Days,” fell out of the Billboard Hot 100 after staying within the singles chart for 20 consecutive weeks. The song was released on Christmas Day and later peaked at No. 9 on the chart before its descent began. After getting word that the song was gone, SZA didn’t take it kindly.

“I really hate my label . So much,” she wrote under a SZA fan account page that shared the news. The singer did not specify why she put the blame on her label. It should also be noted that SZA is signed to both TDE and RCA, so it’s unknown who her comments are exactly directed at, but given her past, it’s safe to guess that the message is aimed at the former.

Last summer, SZA called out TDE’s president, Terrence “Punch” Henderson, for not releasing some of her new music. “At this point y’all gotta ask punch,” she tweeted, adding, “I’ve done all I can do.” SZA’s frustration was exacerbated when one person revealed that Punch merely said “soon” when they asked him about a release date for her upcoming music. “This is all he says to me as well,” she wrote. “Welcome to my f*cking life .”

SZA Laments That She “Hates [Her] Label, So Much”

It’s unclear what has ruffled SZA’s feathers this time around, but she’s still at odds with her label. The Top Dawg Entertainment and RCA Records artist’s fans have been begging for her to release a new album, but there seems to be something brewing behind the scenes. SZA hasn’t released a project since her 2017 debut Ctrl, and while she’s shared a few singles and assisted her fellow artists on their tracks, there doesn’t seem to be a solid game plan for the rollout of her next record. At least, not shared publicly.

Over on an Instagram account for SZA’s fans, they shared a tweet that shows the singer’s December 2020 single “Good Days” has lost a coveted chart position. “‘Good Days’ by @sza goes recurrent and departs from the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week,” the tweet read. A song reaches its recurrent status if it has reportedly has spent 20 weeks on the chart below the 50th spot.

“The smash hit scored SZA her first solo top 10 hit in the region, peaking at #9 and charting for 20 weeks. This is SZA’s BIGGEST solo hit yet,” the tweet concluded. SZA made an appearance in the comments. “I hate my label. So much,” she simply wrote without further explanation. Back in August 2020, SZA shared that her relationship with TDE was hostile, but after the public began posting “Free SZA” hashtags, the singer returned to say that everything was all good.

Wendy Williams Suggests Drake & Kim Kardashian Are Hooking Up

The Gossip Queen is known to stir the pot and she didn’t switch up her routine on Tuesday’s (May 25) episode of her talk show. Wendy Williams is known for finding out industry information and sharing the gossip, and this time the news centered around Drake and Kim Kardashian. According to her “Hot Topics” segment, both celebrities attended Kim’s sister Kendall Jenner’s launch party for the model’s new liquor brand, 818 Tequila.

“The rumors have been for years that they have been dating or hooking up or whatever,” said Wendy while sharing video footage. “Well, they arrived separately to Kendall’s tequila party. Kendall has a tequila and she just launched it. Kim arrived separately in a Yellow Cab? While Drake arrived separately, as well.”

“The rumor was they were all over each other inside the party. Do I believe this? For a moment,” Wendy continued. “Do I believe that Drake and Kim are on the same plane? No. I don’t mean to take away from him or even add to her. I’m just saying, they’ve got their two greatnesses but he’s got a lot of growing up to do to catch up with a woman, you know, divorces under her belt and a bunch of children and a full career and she’s older than him…no.”

“You know what I think this was? A slide by. Several times over,” she added. “I think they could have fun, they can watch TV and so on and so forth. I don’t believe this is a real relationship. You believe what you want.” Wendy then posed a question. “Is it okay to date your ex’s enemy?” she said, referring to Drake and Kanye West’s feud, to which several people in the studio audience quickly yelled “yes.”

We’ll let you debate that one while you check out Wendy sharing rumors about Drizzy and Kim K. at the beginning of the episode below.

Lil Baby Accompanied The Family Of The Late George Floyd During A Visit To The White House

Tuesday marks exactly one year since George Floyd was tragically killed by Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin. The incident sparked nationwide protests, with millions angry that yet another Black life was lost at the hands of police. Days later, Chauvin would be arrested and charged with second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter; in April, he was found guilty on all counts. Fast-forward to today and the family of the late George Floyd visited the White House to meet with President Joe Biden. They were also accompanied by Lil Baby.

Floyd’s family met with the president to discuss police legislation. Video provided by TMZ shows the rapper, when asked about the specifics of their meeting with President Biden, saying he was “trying to pass the George Floyd Police Act bill.” Shortly after a guilty verdict against Chauvin was reached, Biden asked lawmakers to revisit the bill, formally known as the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, which would ban chokeholds, make it easier to prosecute officers for fradulent offenses, and place restrictions on the use of deadly force.

This is not the first time Lil Baby has helped Floyd’s family. Back in December, he and former NBA basketball player Stephen Jackson threw a birthday party for Floyd’s daughter, Giana, with help from Atlanta restauranteurs Ericka and William Platt of Restaurant Ten and Rosie’s Café.

Lil Nas X Laughs As He Explains Wardrobe Malfunction During “SNL” Performance

On Saturday (May 21), Lil Nas X took to the Saturday Night Live stage. The singer brought his controversial “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” single to the forefront once again with a pole-centered sexy performance, but he suffered a mishap in the middle of his dance routine. While Lil Nas X’s face showed that something went wrong, he proceeded like the professional he is and finished it off without a hitch.

During the singer’s appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Lil Nas X was asked about that moment and the pant-splitting wardrobe malfunction.

“So, I was pretty much going down the pole, you know, doing my little sexy drop down and boom, I feel air,” said Lil Nas X as the audience laughed. “I was like, okay, there’s definitely a breeze going on and I also felt like, some popping, like still happening while I was down there. I was like, ‘Oh God, I hope it’s not…just please don’t be on TV already.'”

“And SNL was actually live,” he added. “You know what the worst part is? At the end of the performance, the dancers are supposed to like touch me and tug on me or whatever, and they were tugging on the pants and I was like, ‘Please, God no.'” Lil Nas X recognized her couldn’t necessarily tell his dancers because they were in the middle of a performance but he did his best at handling the situation.

Fallon couldn’t stop laughing at Lil Nas X’s expression on stage when he realized his pants had torn. Check out the interview, and the SNL performance, below.

Kwame Brown Jokes That He’d Never Let His Woman Around Drake

At the top of the month, an artist named Jamie Sun came forward with accusations that seem to be poised against Drake. According to Sun, his fiancé of eight years, singer Naomi Sharon, was invited to allegedly lend her vocals to Drake’s anticipated Certified Lover Boy project, but during the sessions, something happened. Sun never explicitly revealed that Naomi and Drake had something going on, but he made it clear that his relationship with the singer was over.

Kwame Brown seemed to reference these rumors in a video he recently made where he mentioned Drake and that he would never let his woman interact with the Billboard Music Award Artist of the Decade alone.

“You look like one of them corny light-skinned n*ggas,” said Brown said of one of his recent foes in the video clip. “N*gga, you lucky you got money. I told you, you should been a player like Drake, punk. Drake, if I ever see you in the same room with my old lady, n*gga, I know you got bodyguards, but I’m [fighting] yo ass. Just off the trim. I know what you tryin’ to do. F*ck that sht n*gga. *laughs*”

As he continued to chuckle, Brown added, “I’m on yo ass!” He said men need to guard their women around Drizzy. “Salute to you. If you can do all that, gotdamn, boy.” Check out Kwame Brown cracking a few jokes about Drake below.
