Tinashe Shares A Seductive New Single, ‘I Can See The Future’

Shortly after unveiling the title and release date of her forthcoming album, 333, Tinashe has shared a seductive new single called “I Can See The Future.” Over a skittering beat, the R&B singer rolls out verses about a potentially rewarding partnership with a love interest: “I can see the future / And it looks like you and I / I can see the future / And it feels like paradise.”

Prior to “I Can See The Future,” Tinashe shared two singles that will appear on 333. The first is “Pasadena” and the second is “Bouncin.” She’ll also hit the road later this year for her “333 Tour,” which launches on September 16 in Houston, Texas, and lasts for a little over a month before concluding on October 24. It will also a worldwide experience curated by Moment House, a company that specializes in virtual performances.

Pop Smoke “Faith” Significantly Decreases In Sales Projections

The world was excited about Pop Smoke’s second posthumous album Faith, and while the smoke may never clear, enthusiasm has dropped significantly toward the album, resulting in a drop of over 10,000-20,000 projected sales units this week.

People aren’t quite sure how to react to the feature-heavy new album from Pop Smoke, and with some of his closest friends, including Mike Dee and producer 808Melo, disavowing the project, the public seems destined to grow sour on Faith too. When the album first dropped, people were quick to tune in but many fans never got past the first listen, marking a drastic reduction in first-week sales figures.

While Faith was first projected to bring in 110,000 to 120,000 units in the first week, those projections have decreased and it looks like the album will only move 98,000 copies. Despite the drop, Pop Smoke is still expected to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200. John Mayer will take the #2 spot with his new album Sob Rock, which sold 87,000 units. Popstar Olivia Rodrigo follows in third with 80,000 copies sold of her debut album.

This is still a big win for Pop Smoke’s team, which includes his label boss Steven Victor. However, the fans seem to have turned on his base, which means that numbers will likely continue to drop as time goes.

Conway The Machine Snaps On JAY-Z Beat With “Ignorant Sh*t” Freestyle

Conway The Machine recently shared the tracklist to his new album God Don’t Make Mistakes, which all but guarantees that his anticipated Shady Records debut is destined for an imminent release. Now, Machine has emerged to keep the momentum rolling with a brief new freestyle, delivered courtesy of REVOLT’s new series Off Top, hosted by Rapsody and Big Tigger.

Opting to go over a JAY-Z beat, specifically American Gangsta highlight “Ignorant Shit” featuring Beanie Sigel, Conway proves that he would have thrived in any era. Perhaps inspired by the track title, Machine lets fly a series of impressive flexes from the jump. “Look in the driveway you see a fleet of foreigns, like the U in the eighties the coupe green and orange,” he spits. “We ain’t squashing the beef, we gon’ keep it going / feds keep watching our house but they gon’ need a warrant.”

Check out Conway’s full Off Top freestyle now, and sound off if you’re excited for God Don’t Make Mistakes.

Tinashe Teases New Album With “I Can See The Future”

Riding off of the massive success of her latest single “Bouncin” and anticipating her new album, Kentucky singer Tinashe is looking towards the future. Not only is her highly anticipated 333 full-length release around the corner, but “I Can See The Future” finds Tinashe foreseeing a romantic future with her lover. “I Can See The Future” sees Tinashe as confident and comfortable as ever, over a simple trap beat.

The new release follows Tinashe’s signature R&B formula with airy vocals over an atmospheric trap beat. The hook is almost hypnotic in its repetitiveness and gentle melody, with Tinashe repeating “I can see the future/ And it looks like you and I.”

The verses feature some of Tinashe’s most impressive rapping performances yet. She moves seamlessly between aggressive and complex flows and more focused vocal riffs as she separates her commentary about haters and toxicity from the passion she feels in her relationship.

If 333 sounds even remotely similar to “I Can See The Future” or “Bouncin”, fans are in for a treat.

Quotable Lyrics:

I got drip from next season, exclusive or custom
It’s a cold world, I’m smothered in Moncler
What you see in me, it’s not her and it’s not fair
I got money like the boys, I pull up, they all stare

Vince Staples Coasts Through A Laid-Back Tiny Desk Concert With Kenny Beats And Foushée

Vince Staples may have received a polarized response from fans and critics, but Vince Staples himself remains undeterred in promoting his latest project, maintaining his usual cavalier air in a mellow NPR Tiny Desk Concert performance backed by Kenny Beats and featuring Foushée. The Long Beach rapper performs songs from his self-titled third studio album in the Hollywood Hills, where he jokes he’d “never live,” reminiscing with his manager Corey Smyth (who, as always, remains offscreen) about times he was arrested in the affluent area.

While some fans found the relaxed production on Vince Staples to be off-putting, it turns out to be perfect for a Tiny Desk performance. Vince, as laid-back as ever, coasts through album standouts “Law Of Averages,” “Sundown Town,” “The Shining,” and “Take Me Home,” with Foushée joining him on the last song and Kenny Beats playing bass throughout. Fellow South LA rapper 03 Greedo gets a shout-out, while Vince reflects on the release of his first album Summertime 06 and dedicates his performance to “all the bad b*tches worldwide… whether you have two legs or no legs.”

No, Kanye West Wasn’t Charging $50 For Chicken Tenders At His ‘Donda’ Listening Event

Kanye West’s gotten away with some pretty egregious feats of merchandising in the past, so it makes sense that one of the main talking points surrounding his Atlanta listening event for Donda was a rapidly-circulating photo of a snack menu that purported Kanye was charging $50 for chicken tenders, among other outrageously priced snacks. After all, this was the man who overpriced Coachella Sunday Service merch by quite a lot and convinced fans to pay through the nose for whatever the heck these are so much that Walmart knockoffs became a thing.

However, on closer inspection, that doesn’t appear to be the case here, as the text on the bottom of the menu reading “Please see your suite attendant to order” suggests that these are the prices for attendees who sat in suites at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, which means the prices are for sharing size orders (usually, enough for four people). This is usually pretty common practice at most arenas, which overcharge for food anyway (a McDonald’s Big Mac, which would normally be around 2 bucks in LA, is about twice as expensive in Staples Center). Still, the reactions are pretty funny, all things considered, and illuminate just how little patience people have for Kanye — who still hasn’t actually released Donda despite holding a listening event in an arena to premiere it — these days.

OhGeesy Announces His Solo Debut With ‘Big Bad Wolf’ Featuring YG

After gaining popularity as the de facto frontman for West Coast party rap crew Shoreline Mafia, LA’s OhGeesy plans to release his debut solo mixtape, Geezyworld Vol. 1, later this summer. To help drum up interest, he solicits YG’s co-sign on his latest single, “Big Bad Wolf,” dropping a money-and-women-themed video for the song that finds the two rappers caught up in a veritable blizzard of bills.

In addition to bundling up against the cash storm, YG and OhGeesy make it rain at the strip club as they spit their turnt-up boasts.

Although Geezyworld Vol. 1 will be OhGeesy’s solo debut, he’s built up enough experience and connections in the rap game to warrant an impressive list of guest stars which not only includes fellow LA upstarts like BlueBucksClan but also features bigger stars like A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and DaBaby. You can see the full tracklist below.
