Keyshia Ka’Oir Blames Gucci Mane’s 2013 Tweets On Mental Health & Addiciton Issues

Ever since meeting on the set for the 2010 “911 Emergency” music video, Keyshia Ka’Oir and Gucci Mane have endured drama and stints in prison to become the music industry power couple that they are today. The loving couple now has a beautiful child together, but in a recent interview with Billboard, Ka’Oir reveals that their relationship hasn’t always been easy.

While talking to Billboard alongside Gucci Mane, Ka’Oir provides insight into some of the most important moments of Guwop’s career, including his infamous 2013 Twitter rant as well as his three-year prison sentence.

“He was all over the place,” Keyshia Ka’Oir reveals after agreeing with Gucci Mane that his unforgettable 2013 Twitter tirade — which targeted Drake, Nicki Minaj, Coach K, Jeezy, and even Ka’Oir herself — was the result of lean addiction and mental health issues. “It wasn’t a surprise for any of us. He was terrible at times.”

Elsewhere in the interview, she admits that she could have abandoned Gucci Mane when he was sentenced to three years in prison, but she stayed with him because she “honestly loved him and realized that he needed love.”

“I felt like he was broken and just needed someone to show him affection, for him to have a purpose. And I wanted to be his purpose,” Ka’Oir says before revealing that she talked to the legendary Atlanta rapper every day during his prison stint. “I remember telling him over the phone, ‘Just allow me to love you and come home to me.’ And those were the words and the conversations and the emails that got him out safe.”

Are you glad that Keyshia Ka’Oir remained by Gucci’s side even though she was one of the people attacked during his infamous Twitter rant in 2013?

Tiger Woods On Car Crash: “More Painful Than Anything I Have Ever Experienced”

Back in February, Tiger Woods was severely injured in a car crash which left him with broken bones in his lower extremities. Woods immediately had to get surgery, and now, he is on the road to recovery as he goes through rehab every single day. Woods can’t walk on his own right now and when it comes to golf, it’s one of the last things on his mind right now.

During an interview with Golf Digest, Woods spoke about his predicament and what the road to recovery has been like. The legendary golfer admitted that he’s focused on walking by himself again and that when it comes to his injuries, they are the most painful he has ever experienced.

“This has been an entirely different animal,” Woods said. “I understand more of the rehab processes because of my past injuries, but this was more painful than anything I have ever experienced.” He then went on to talk about his golf comeback, saying “My physical therapy has been keeping me busy. I do my routines every day and am focused on my No. 1 goal right now: walking on my own. Taking it one step at a time.”

Tiger’s journey is far from over although it’s clear that he is committed to seeing it through. After all, he is one of the greatest competitors golf has ever seen.

Young Nudy “Dr. EV4L” Review

There aren’t many artists quite like Young Nudy, a standout member of Atlanta’s expansive hip-hop scene. A seemingly oxymoronic conclusion; how can one stand out while being so thoroughly understated? Moreover, how can a self-declared antagonist styling himself Dr. Evil, a perhaps-unwitting homage to the Austin Powers megalomaniac, be understated to begin with?

Such is the fascinating conundrum of Young Nudy, a subject that may well puzzle academics seeking to understand the duality of man. One need only watch an interview with the 4L rapper to witness this duality first hand. Affable, mischievous, prone to laughter — qualities seldom associated with the horror film slashers from whom he draws inspiration. Yet embedded within his music, and most predominantly on his dark new album Dr. EV4L, are lyrics closer to horrorcore than hilarity.

An understandable progression, given how deeply rooted horrorcore is in Southern rap tradition. Nudy’s approach to the macabre subgenre is part of what makes him unique. There’s little conscious effort to position himself as a supernatural figure, despite evoking the likes of Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers in his rhymes. His depictions of atrocities — and there are many, doled out with the same amusing disposition seen in his many memorable interviews — resonate in their simple brutality. Though he doesn’t have to rob, having “graduated home invasions, no more kick-door,” that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to. All the while, his longtime collaborator Coupe’s production seems to capture what his darker impulses might sound like were they expressed through music. Beats wander and storm beneath Nudy’s unfettered verses, vintage horror scores candy painted with the shiny sheen of modern trap production.

That’s not to say that Dr. EV4L is a joyless affair in the slightest. The sheer happiness Nudy seems to find in reflecting on his penchant for violence keeps the laughter contagious — if a little nervous. Seldom does he mask his intention under the guise of metaphorical language. His lyrics are exactly as he presents them, even when he’s granting brief moments of character development amidst the carnage. One of the most revealing arrives on “Columbian Necktie” of all places, where he casually recalls the moment both his mom and his teachers kicked him out, inadvertently setting a twisted origin story in motion. “Now I’m going to a haunted house, tryna make a way out,” he raps, finding solace in the typically unwelcoming. “Started getting on them xannies, now I’m feelin’ fine.”

From start to finish, the project’s instrumentals are highly immersive. The strange beats add further character to Nudy’s rhymes, imbuing his gangsta-rap musings with paranormal quality. “Perc 30” feels like a hallucinogenic trip to the circus, while “Child’s Play” manages to be simultaneously innocent and menacing. “Boy, you know I’m rich shooter, gotta add more zeros,” he raps on the former. “I ain’t shootin’ shit for free, Slime ain’t been a hero.” The latter, a duet with his cousin 21 Savage, allows their distinctive horror influences to collide in a playful crossover event that evokes the spirit of Freddy Vs. Jason. “Ever seen a bullet bust out his brain?” asks Nudy. “Tall killer, man, he just like Michael Myers / Walk up on a ni*ga, take off his chain.”

While it’s difficult to assess whether or not the project is Nudy’s definitive best album, it’s certainly among the most immediate. There’s a clear sense of cohesion, granted further credibility through the marriage of excellent art direction and production. From a performance standpoint, Nudy continues to equip his arsenal with a variety of unpredictable flows, his many threats and violent boasts effortlessly delivered. Like any great slasher, there’s repetition to the formula. Nudy seldom pushes to reinvent himself, favoring the subjects he favors and cycling through them in stream-of-consciousness fashion. But as audiences never tire of watching Michael Myers terrorize the streets of Haddonfield with wanton murder, Nudy’s charismatic presence keeps the familiarity forgivable.

Marcus Smart Confirms Celtics Fans Have Shouted Racist Remarks

Earlier this week, Kyrie Irving spoke about his return to Boston and what it will be like playing in front of Celtics fans in light of his history with the team. Over the years, Celtics fans have had a reputation of being a bit racist towards opposing players, and during a press conference, Irving spoke to that, noting that he hopes the fans keep it strictly about basketball and nothing else.

“I am just looking forward to competing with my teammates and hopefully, we can just keep it strictly basketball; there’s no belligerence or racism going on – subtle racism,” Irving said. “People yelling shit from the crowd, but even if it is, it’s part of the nature of the game and we’re just going to focus on what we can control.”

In light of these comments, Celtics star Marcus Smart was asked about the crowd in Boston and whether or not he has ever heard them be racist. According to reporter Keith Smith, Smart admitted to hearing racist comments from the fans in the past and that it’s truly unfortunate.

“Yeah, I’ve heard it. I’ve hard a couple of things. It’s hard to hear that and then have them support us as players. It’s kind of sad and sickening,” he said.

Just last year, Smart spoke about how he was called the n-word by a Celtics fan and how it was a traumatic experience considering these are the fans who are supposed to be supporting him. Needless to say, this is a bad reputation to have, and hopefully, the fans behave themselves and act respectfully come tomorrow night.

Bill Cosby Denied Parole After Failing To Attend Treatment Program For Sex Offenders

In the fall of 2018, Bill Cosby was sentenced to 3 to 10 years in prison following his conviction in the Andrea Constand aggravated indecent assault case. Nearly three full years after his sentencing, Bill Cosby had reportedly applied for parole. However, Cosby’s request for parole has reportedly been swiftly denied.

According to TMZ, the Pennsylvania Parole Board shut down Coby’s hope for parole, and there were multiple reasons why they decided to deny his request.

Apparently, Bill Cosby has consistently failed to attend and participate in a treatment program for sex offenders, and furthermore, Cosby also did not develop and present a parole release plan at the time of his request. Those strikes combined with a negative recommendation from the Department of Corrections ultimately sealed the deal on Cosby’s motion for parole and sent the disgraced comedian and actor back to the drawing board.

Andrew Wyatt — Cosby’s publicist — reportedly told TMZ that Cosby’s team isn’t surprised by the denial, and they’re also not giving up in their efforts to get Cosby out on parole. According to TMZ, Wyatt also reveals that Cosby remains optimistic that the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court will overturn his conviction or possibly grant him a new trial.

With that said, stay tuned as Bill Cosby’s ongoing story continues to develop.

Flo Milli Fans Are Convinced She Was Snubbed By The BET Awards

Flo Milli, the breakthrough Alabama artist who put the early half of the quarantine in a chokehold with her fan-favorite mixtape Ho, Why Is You Here?, is nowhere to be found on the list of nominees for the 2021 BET Awards — and now, fans want answers. While the Best Female Hip Hop artist nominees include shoo-ins Cardi B, Coi Leray, Doja Cat, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, and Saweetie, Flo Milli’s name climbed into Twitter’s top trending topics as many wondered why she wasn’t nominated herself after dropping beloved singles like “Weak” and “Send The Addy” and featuring on Yung Baby Tate’s viral hit “I Am.” She was, however, nominated for Best New Artist.

Some fans complained that Flo Mili’s absence — as well as those of names like Chika, Tierra Whack, and Yung Baby Tate — constituted colorism on BET’s part. “If Flo Milli was yellow, then she’d be on the list,” asserted one fan. Another grouped Chika and Tierra Whack with Flo Milli, asking, “Wtf is going on???”

“Flo Milli didn’t rebrand the entire state of Alabama to get snubbed like this,” one fan said. However, another pointed out the lack of statistical support for claims of the Mobilian’s popularity. “Everyone in the quotes acting confused on why Flo Milli not nominated when y’all don’t even support her offline,” they wrote. “Her mixtape peaked at #78 and none of her singles charted. Y’all need to stop showing fake love because she is talented.”

And while much of the outcry focused on Coi Leray’s two 2021 singles blowing up, they seemed to overlook her 2020 EP Now or Never, which was supported by a number of well-received singles, and the three years of foundation building she’d done with appearances on the Spider-Verse soundtrack and breakout single “Huddy.”

Of course, invested fans can spot a snub for any given award show and this isn’t even the first time that BET has been called out in this particular field. In 2017, Dreezy called out the BET Awards for including multiple women who hadn’t even released projects in the prior year, so while there’s no pleasing everybody, there’s at least been a tremendous amount of progress made in the years since. And hey, there’s always next year.

Travis Scott Shows Off Custom CACTI Jeep From James Harden

James Harden built a pretty strong friendship with rapper Travis Scott when he was playing in Houston, often rubbing shoulders with the “Sicko Mode” artist by the courtside seats. They seemingly got pretty close because even to this day, they’re still showing each other love.

While JH13 may be a member of the Brooklyn Nets now, the superstar decided to get his friend Travis Scott right for his birthday, which he recently celebrated last month. His belated birthday gift was waiting for him when he landed at the airport, hopping off the private jet and jumping in a brand new customized Jeep, gifted to him by James Harden with CACTI branding throughout.

“Nah, you a different type of brother right here,” said La Flame as he showed off the new car. “I just landed at the clearport, this what you have waiting for me, bruh? Nah, you crazy. 13, you the man, boy. Love you. This a different type of birthday gift right here.”

In the video, it’s pretty dark so you can’t get a great look at the whip. However, the CACTI decals are in plain view, which clearly excited Travis.

Considering the fact that Travis has a pretty solid car collection at his estate, this has to have been one of his favorite birthday gifts from this year. Check it out below.

CEO Of TikTok Parent Company Steps Down Due To Lack Of Social Skills

Several notable Hip-Hop artists have reflected on their financial come-ups during the pandemic, but no person or entity probably experienced the massive increase in support as TikTok. The novel social media platform was founded in 2016, but it became one of the most popular apps during 2020, even prompting the ire of former President Donald Trump.

Despite the company’s mind-blowing success, the CEO and founder of ByteDance — the Chinese tech startup that owns TikTok — has reportedly decided to relinquish the role of chief executive officer. According to The Verge, Zhang Yiming has announced that he is stepping down from “the world’s most valuable startup” and will move to another position within the company.

Zhang Yiming, chief executive officer and founder of Bytedance Ltd., poses for a photograph in Beijing, China, on Thursday, April 11, 2019. Zhang is worth about $13 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, making him China's 9th-richest person and one of the fastest in modern times to amass a mega-fortune.

In a statement released to ByteDance’s official website, Zhang reflects on his decision and offered insight as to why he wanted to make the switch to another role within his company.

“Since the beginning of this year, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how to better drive real long-term breakthroughs,” Zhang writes. “I worry I am still relying too much on the ideas I had before starting the company, and haven’t challenged myself by updating those concepts.”

Touching on his personal shortcomings, Zhang continues, “I think someone else can better drive progress through areas like improved daily management. The truth is, I lack some of the skills that make an ideal manager. I’m more interested in analyzing organizational and market principles, and leveraging these theories to further reduce management work, rather than actually managing people.”

“Similarly, I’m not very social,” Zhang reveals. “[I prefer] solitary activities like being online, reading, listening to music, and daydreaming about what may be possible.”

While Zhang’s next role at ByteDance has not yet been revealed, Zhang’s fellow co-founder Liang Rubo will transition from HR to assume the CEO position.
